  1. We ended up staying with a friend for this trip since we couldn't find something that we wanted. Thanks for your help.
  2. No luck yesterday. Thank you for the advice. Considering that even a $153 hotel on hotwire becomes almost $200 after tax, I may end up renting an apartment in the end because the options are much better for that amount of money. I will keep bidding at $110 max per day in the meantime on PRICELINE and hope for the best. I will keep you posted if the bid is successful.
  3. I found a rate at the Scandic Sydhaven in Vesterbro (4*) for $135 per night. $140 per night seems too high a bid for something on PRICELINE / HOTWIRE if this rate is out there. Plus, it's above my price range. What would your suggested bidding strategy be for today if I bid $110 max?
  4. I proceeded as advised and no luck. Express deal for a 5* after the bid is coming out at $240. Hotwire has a 5* near Kastrup Airport for $242. Hotwire has the following 4* Hotels: City Center / Tivoli $153 Frederiksberg $153 Vesterbro $143 In your view, how high would I need to go on priceline to get a 4*? I will try a new strategy tomorrow.
  5. Dates: Sept 5 - 7, 2014 Budget: $100 per night (can go a bit higher with tax) Hotel Star Level Preference: 4 or 5 star Area Preference: Copenhagen Can you please help with a bidding strategy? Thank you very much.
  6. St Giles - The Tuscany 4.5* $153 (came to $190 with tax per night). Amenities: Free internet Fitness center Business center Self-service laundry Trip Advisor 4.5/5 Hotwire customer reviews (10) - 100% recommended
  7. Thanks for your help. Can you please help me identify a HOTWIRE hotel? I used your link and here are the details: Downtown/Soho/Financial District 4* $131 90% recommended by hotwire users. 554 total hotwire reviews. No tripadvisor info. Amenities: Internet access Business center Restaurant Accessibility (blind/deaf/path of travel/in room/accessible bathroom/roll in shower) Thank you.
  8. Looking to find the great deal via priceline for the week of Feb 22 - March 1 during low season. Is it feasible to get a 4.5* in Soho or Midtown West for max $130? Shall I keep trying daily since I still have 2 weeks? Since we are there for 7 nights and since there will be tax added onto the final bid amount, I'd really like to keep it under $130 and get a great place. This trip is for a milestone birthday, so it'd be great if we can pull off something that is a little special (design hotel or else a higher quality chain). Perfect in the 4.5* category would be The James, the Royalton, or Mondrian Soho, but would also be open to the Sofitel. For a 5*, I'd pay up to 160 and would love to get the Chatwal. I have some experience with priceline, and realise that you never know for sure. Still, perhaps it could work with research, daily bidding, and your advice. Your thoughts on a way forward for tomorrow's bidding?
