  1. i got a standard sized room at the hudson for $150/night only 2 days in advance. i would recommend it if you are on a budget. everything else i saw was $240+ on priceline express- even the 3 and 3 1/2 star hotels. hudson is 4 stars. the rooms are small, but manageable for a busy itinerary. if youre the kind of person who wants to luxuriate+relax in the hotel, without a to-do/to-see list, the hudson won't suit you. but for ppl who want to explore the city, it isnt a bad deal. i asked for a room higher up, facing away from the terrace (which is very pretty, but puts on music for the young crowd until very late into the night). the room itself reminds me slightly of a college dorm with trendy interior decorating. the hallways are definitely college-like. ive never seen walls with stucco-like texture in a hotel...
  2. do you know what the concierge tipping culture is like in NY? if i tried to fold a $20 to the concierge, would they feel more inclined to give me a slightly larger room as an upgrade?
  3. hahahaha thank you for the heads up. are the beds in hudson's single rooms full sized? i used PRICELINE's "name your own price" i forgot to use the better bidding link this time, but i remembered to do so in the past i booked this trip in a hurry but will remember to use it in the future!
  4. sort of sad. i thought it would be the shoreham. hudson gets bad reviews on yelp, trip advisor, etc. i know NY rooms are small, but it sounds like hudson takes it to a whole new level. im going to try to fit four friends including me in this room. wish me luck! hopefully we dont get kicked out Hudson, A Morgans Original 4 star Central Park South 356 West 58 Street, New York, NY 10019 Check-In: Sat, Aug 9, 2014 / After 03:00 PM Check-Out: Sun, Aug 10, 2014 / 12:00 PM
  5. I used bidding better's PRICELINE link to book my hotel. Started out at $85 (median price for north strip 5* was $75 at the time) and increased each bid by $5. thought i was going to hit the wynn. ecstatic about getting palazzo! thanks BB Room Subtotal: $110.00 Taxes & Fees: $22.25 Total Charged to Card: $132.25
  6. Summary of Charges Price per night: $118 Rooms: 1 Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $118.00 Travel Insurance $0.00 ( DECLINED ) + Add now Recommended! Taxes & Fees: $23.61 Total Priceline Charges: All prices are in US dollars. $141.61 Charged by Priceline today when you book. Additional Mandatory Fee: $28.00 This hotel fee is charged by property at checkout. Total Cost: $169.61 at the moment, the only hotel in the north strip with a 9/10 on priceline is the palazzo. however, the total cost becomes $169. not sure why priceline includes the mandatory resort fee into the total cost, when it's supposed to be paid at the hotel desk. also, palazzo and venetian give the guests the option of declining to pay the resort fee. $118 became $169, which makes the priceline express deal not worth it. ordering via the venetian website is only $145/night subtotal, total $166. thoughts?
  7. when I book tonight or whenever, I'll definitely use the better bidding PRICELINE link. I'm booking for Las Vegas. does anyone have any past experience they can share regarding fitting 3 or 4 people Ina double occupancy room?
  8. I'm about to book a priceline name your own deal, but the fine print that says priceline reservations accommodate up to 2 people is making me hesitate. Can one of these rooms fit four girls? (2 queen beds or similar option) Thanks so much.
  9. Since Trump is the only resort in the North Strip Vicinity, I'm guessing this express deal will assign me to Trump. The mandatory fee per night is $28.
