1. I would like to bid a hotel in San Francisco for my stay from 5.9 - 5.11, but I am not familiar with the city and I don't know which area is better. I heard that some areas are not very safe. Thanks!
2. Thank you so much for providing the information about that 4.5* hotel. Unfortunately, I didn't see this reply before I checked in hotel rush, but thank you again for the help. I was staying at hotel rush for three nights. The renovation is almost completed. All the rooms have been upgraded, which is very nice. Only the exterior wall was under construction.
3. I booked a regular priced hotel rush (135/night) through the site PRICELINE link. Thanks!
4. Hi, thank you all for the help. I have been watched the hotel deal for a long time and haven't spot a desired deal, so I booked a regular price hotel instead. I am here to close this post.
5. Thank you for looking the hotels for me on HOT.WIRE. I am considering using HOT.WIRE because the hotel deal selections on Price.line was very limited.
6. Thank you for your guessing, and thank you for merging the topics. I was thinking about splitting the bid because the hotel selection on PRICELINE EXPRESS was very limited.
7. 4 Star Hotel North Michigan Ave- River North Area Express Deal 4.28-4.30 amenities: free internet, fitness center, restaurant, business center, guest rating 8+. My guess is Westin Michigan avenue, but I am not sure.
8. Thank you very much for your reply, I will use the site link to purchase the hotel. I just double-checked and figured out that intercontinental now offers free parking and free wifi in the lobby. If I applied the filter to search for hotels with these amenities, intercontinental will not be in the results. However, if I click the Priceline intercontinental hotel to see the detail, I can find the detailed description with these amenities. I guess it might be some sort of limited time offer.
9. I didn't bid the hotel at Boston because there was no great deal at that time and I also needed a double room. Hence, I ended up booking a regular priced hotel Revere.
10. I have trouble identifying a 4.5 Star Hotel North Michigan Ave- River North Area Express Deal. The date is April 28 to May 1st. The amenities are: free internet, free park, swimming pool, pets allowed, fitness center, restaurant, business center. I tried matching it with Priceline regular price hotels based on amenities, star and location, but no result.
11. Thank you for the suggestion. I don't care much about the view from the room since I will spend the most time outside. However, I do want a two-bed room. would the 20 dollar trick work?
12. Amenities: Free internet in public areas, pets allowed, restaurant, fitness center, business center, rating 9.0 or higher
13. 5.1-5.2 Got the Westin Chicago River North, Priceline.express deal 101 dollars. Should I posted this win and previous win in two separate posts?
14. 4.29-5.1 Win The James at 96 dollars per night. Used the PRICELINE link, and first bid for 4.29-4.30. I saw the winning post for 4.26-4.27. Started bidding at 93, got rejected. Then added a rebid zone, and bid at 96, accepted! After seeing the hotel is the James, extended the stay to 5.1. (I wasn't able to extend the stay to 5.2) Therefore, I need to bid another hotel for 5.1-5.2 stay. I don't know if this is a great deal since the room type will be assigned on check-in. I would like to get a double room, but it will depend on what rooms available. Having the risk of adding 30 dollars for a rollaway bed if double room is not available.
15. Thank you very much. This information is really helpful. If I bid for Loop area, I would like to as close to the river north as possible. Therefore, it will be a good idea to guess the hotel first. From my past bidding experience, I first identify a hotel in PRICELINE EXPRESS deal, and then bid the hotel at a slightly lower price tha PRICELINE EXPRESS deal times 0.95. Using this method, I got two hotels I wanted. However, I am still relatively new to PRICELINE. I don't know if any hotel in Name Your Own Price doesn't appear on the Express Deal at the same time.
16. Preferred area: 8. North Michigan Ave - River North Area, 7. Millennium Park, Loop & Grant Park Area Preferred Star: 4 star and up, 3.5 is also fine Any suggestion on the star level and area? For example, if some known winning 4 star hotel in North Michigan Ave region has a very bad reputation, then I will start bid on this area from 4.5 star. Please give me any suggestion for the bidding price. Thanks
17. Thank you for the information. Yes, I did check my reservation using the number and my last name. What displayed on the Marriott's website was "room: 1 King or Double". I guess it is because the King and double are of the same price. I called the hotel to request a double room, and they accommodated my request.
18. AaronJB, thereuare, Romelle, thank you very much for the help!!! My desired area is Boston Commons-Theater district, 4 star. The retail price is about 200 dollars now. For example, Revere is 216 dollar per night. Therefore, I am hoping to bid one at 125. I have done some research on bidding, and rebid zone is not a problem for me. I am trying to avoid overpaying by knowing the "reasonable" bid price. I don't want to bid a 200 dollar hotel for 180 dollar. I will keep you guys updated of my progress.
19. I have another question. The priceline just sent me an email about the available deals in New York for my date. One of them is only 138 dollars for a 4 star hotel in Downtown-Financial district, but I can't see such deal. Does it really exist? I have seen some websites posting very low price to attract customer, but displaying no inventory when customers actually click to make the reservation. Don't know what is going on with Price.line.
20. Hi, thank you for the help. I have already posted a new post regarding my winning bid in New York. I got a hotel for 4 night, and will have a sofa bed.
21. I saw a Priceline express deal of 184 dollar per night. Then I started bidding at 157, but failed. I changed the browser, and bid at 168, then won. I first bid for two night from 5.5-5.7, then extended the stay to 5.9 after I won the first one. The total cost for 4-night stay plus tax and fees is $831. I guess I might be able to get the hotel at a lower price, but I don't have much time to bid everyday. I contacted the hotel, and the hotel is not able to upgrade to a two-queen bed room. They may be able to accommodate at check-in, but will charge extra 50 dollar per night. However, the hotel can add a sofa bed for free to accommodate me and my parents. I have never slept on the sofa bed before, but I think it will not be too bad. I did use the forum's PRICELINE link. I noticed that I can see a much cheaper priceline express deal price when I used the forum's link, not knowing why. Again, thank you for the help.
22. Thank you for the help. I have checked the information on the website, the card and phone number are Priceline's master card and phone. They are not my phone. The room is 1 King or 2 Double. I don't know which one. I may call the hotel.
23. The room is assigned on check-in. I will arrive after 9:00pm on that day. Am I able to call the hotel and get a double bed room in advance? The one king bed room is the same price as two double bed room
24. I have been bidding for Washington DC Capitol Hill for three days. Today I saw an Priceline Deal at 90 dollars, with free internet in public area, restaurants, business center and fitness center, I guessed it is Washington Marriott at Metro Center. I wanted to get it at a lower price, so I started bidding at 77 with no success. Then I add a rebid zone, and raised the price to 81. I got it!!!
