More details about the LaQuinta in Tuscaloosa AL: I was very disappointed to find that this location was merely a motel - all exterior doors. I didn't feel that this compares to other 2.5* properties. (Hotwire's comparable 2.5* locations are Country Inn & Suites, Amerisuites and Hol. Inn Express.) Upon arrival, you have to drive behind a restaurant - right by the dumpsters - to get to the LQ lobby. It's located right on the Expressway - very loud (given the exterior doors). The room was just okay. The tub was dirty. Staff even forgot to clean our room one day. Breakfast was fine - nothing special like the reviews I had read elsewhere. Very mediocre. My biggest complaint was finding that this property had all exterior doors. I would not have expected this in a 2.5*.
:) Warning! This LaQuinta in Tuscaloosa, AL is anything but a 2.5*. It's not even a hotel - rather a motel with all exterior doors to the outside. It's right on the expressway - loud!! Don't waste your money here.
2.5* for $43 with Hotwire. Got LaQuinta in Tuscaloosa. HW says that LQ is a 2*, so I didn't expect to get this one. I called and they assured me that the LQ in Tuscaloosa is a 2.5* (but nationally they consider LQ to be more like a 2*.) At any rate, this LQ has received pretty good reviews (8 out of 10 overall).
Anyone familiar with the 2.5* hotel on Hotwire in Tuscaloosa, AL? Amenities include complimentary breakfast, high speed internet, and pool. There's also a 2*. Any ideas? Thanks. Forgot to mention: dates needed are 6/17-6/22.
