1. Yes indeed. William Vale at 306. Used the HOTWIRE link on this site.
2. I don't see a 5* in the directory.. I am looking at 12/2-12/4 and I see $306 for this 5*: FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access
3. Booked Tribeca Grand Hotel for $299 via Priceline bidding. Used the PRICELINE link above. PRICELINE EXPRESS deal today was $305 and amenities look like Tribeca Grand, so this was a slight savings beyond that. Thanks for the help.
4. I see this PRICELINE EXPRESS deal... it actually dropped from 315 to 305 overnight. It looks like the Tribeca Grand hotel. I may also try Midtown East which seems to be a little cheaper for a 4.5*. They have a Priceline.Express for 266 which appears to be Hyatt 48 Lex. I don't know what I'll do yet, but it seems like I have good options.
5. So I just finished the bidding and came up empty. There were 9 zones that were less than 4.5*, so I had 9 rebids. Started at 195 and ended at 285. No dice at 4.5 stars for my dates.
6. To close the thread, I'll add the conclusion of my experience. The Priceline bidding didn't work at 185, so I pulled the trigger on the Priceline Express deal at $214. The stay was pleasant.
7. Hi, I've done this once before with Priceline earlier in the year for Chicago and came up empty. For this trip I'd like to book a 4.5* in Soho with a max of $275 per night. My question is to get a refresher on re-bidding. How do I know which zones do not have a 4.5 or above, so I can safely use them to rebid?
8. I tried this exact bid strategy and failed. No luck all the way up to $185. I may try again tomorrow or just pull the trigger on the PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal at $214. Thanks for the help.
9. Thanks for the fast response! This is a great resource. I think I'd like to try bidding, just to see how it goes. Let's say $185 is my max for 5* in River North. How should I bid? I'm supposed to add other zones if my initial bid is not accepted. I've looked, and I see no other 5* hotels in Chicago at those dates, so I can add any zone to the next bid, correct?
10. Hi, I'm new to the site and looking to find my first deal. I need a 5* hotel for tomorrow night, Friday 1/3-1/4 in the River North, Mag Mile areas. I've stayed at Peninsula, Ritz, Park Hyatt, etc and paid mostly full price, but I'm looking to save a few bucks but maintain that same level of accommodations. I live in Chicago, so parking is not an issue. Free Wifi is not important. I just need a high end hotel with good room service. No other amenities are really important to me. I did a search on Priceline (using the site's link) and found a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal in Chicago North Michigan Ave - River North Area for $214/night. I'm wondering what hotel this is and if I can do better, maybe in the $175 range? I also see good deals on Hotel Tonight for the Ivy or PUBLIC, which are not 5*, but I may be willing to try those for such a low cost if they are still available tomorrow morning when I need to book. This is the amenities list for the Priceline Express deal at $214/night Guaranteed Amenities: Free Internet in public areas Indoor Swimming Pool Pets Allowed Business Center Fitness Center
