  1. Tried last week up to $100 for 4* and $89 for 3* with zero success, everything turned down immediately. Came back a week late, tried $78 and used rebid zones at 82 and 85 before accepting 88, see 88 seems to be a good number for the Hyatt.
  2. Have known these dates since March and have been tracking rates on Hotwire which have come down a little since they were extortionate in March-April. However had been bidding up to $120 on 4* AND 3 * last week and got nothing. Today randomly decided to give it another go and bang, 91 and 96 were turned down but 101 was accepted for 4*. Delighted and relieved as feared I would have to consider downgrading from the usual standard of accommodation and pay more which would have been an ugly combo!
  3. Snap, identical stay. I agree the hotel is definitly top of the pack for 3*, I guess the lobby is not overly ornate but rooms and gym were nice. Not perfect location but nothing to complain about and excellent rooms and outstanding service throughout the hotel.
  4. Bit tired and rusty at priceline so had a very simple startegy : $88 4* refused $75 3* accepted Maybe could/should have started lower and rebid but pretty good deal, looks like a great property. In the city already and LOVE it!
  5. Wow major sigh of relief. Needed a last minute deal in London and everywhere is insanely priced on internet. Evenrually went 4* Bloomsbury gbp50 rejected offer of 110, 3* bloomsbury rejected at 45, added City rejected at 47, added Westminster accepted at 49. Everywhere seems to list this at around 300 usd (and 4*) so seems like one of my best priceline deals. Sorry this should be in Priceline and forgot to mention dates 4th july to 6th july cheers
  6. Graduation week in montreal, may ensure lots of full hotels
  7. Novotel Edinburgh. Total with taxes, 75 GBP Best alternative rate 129 GBP Good saving :), not the best but Edinbugh isn't a hugely developed market for priceline seemingly Bids: 65 for 5* central rejected 55 for 4* central rejected 60 for 4* central + west accepted
  8. Bid the day before departure. Stayed three nights. Excellent location. Was allocate don request 30th floor but then ahd to change rooms as the safe and TV did not work. Business centre 15USD fro ten mins internet was absurd
  9. Hi, I know priceline pretty well but have a question about timing. If I am looking for a week in Montreal at end of May, is it better to bid now or closer to the time ot get the best price. I have made two deals recently with priceline. The day before leaving, I booked 3 nights in 4 star Midtown New York, I got the Hilton on 6ht Avenue for 120 from 27th Feb. Two weeks ago I booked three night in central London 4 star from 13th - 16th April and got the Novotel Euston for 80 USD per night. I can not figure which is a better deal, I think perhaps the London one alhtough I am yet to see the hotel and know the location is not as good. I did not know about the savingsbarn link, but I will be sure to use it in the future and report my deals to all. Cheers
