  1. Amenities listed - Indoor pool(s), Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Self service laundry, Internet access, Spa Services, By their own reckoning, this is a four star property, not 5* as on Hotwire. They have a plaque by the reception desk to this effect. You have to pay ~ $15CAD / day for wifi, but we got such a great deal I was ok with this! Couldn't fault the property or the staff. Really comfortable beds and in a great location. Really happy with this property.

  4. Thank you for your response. When we went to check in, hoping to do so early we encountered the same issue, the clerk said we had two king rooms & a rollaway would cost $30 and they have been telling HOTWIRE constantly of this problem. Anyway, we couldn't check in then as our rooms weren't ready. When we returned later with a different clerk, we had no problems at all. In fact we were given a choice of rooms. As for the booking, I am aware of the process re site selection, but as I said, my husband made the booking & doesn't use this site. :) Thanks again.
  5. Pet friendly, Indoor pool(s), Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access, Spa Services, My husband booked this some time ago & it was in Australian $, so the amount may be slightly different. $123 is the approximate USD conversion.
  6. Our family of five recently stayed at Intercontinental The Barclay. I purchased two rooms, and selected 5 guests. On check in I was told that they didn't have to provide beds for all guests and that we needed to be careful travelling as a family as someone might need to sleep on the floor! We were given a room with a king bed, and a suite, which had a king bed & sofa bed - which he said was an upgrade, as they didn't have any double double rooms left. He was going to give us two king rooms, which you couldn't swing a cat in, much less have a rollaway bed! My understanding of Hotwire is they guarantee everyone will have a bed to sleep in, whether that be a regular bed (albeit with the possibility of sharing it) or a rollaway bed, but the man at reception said this isn't the case with Hotwire or Priceline. I'm a little concerned about this as we have another upcoming booking in Montreal, again I have booked two rooms, for five guests. Any feedback would be appreciated. CC
  7. I did post the win in $US, it was $435, including taxes, for 2 rooms (which was just the info I filled out in the win proforma, though I mentioned in the body of my message in AUD $. I'm not sure where $165 comes from, this was not what I posted. :)
  8. ~$218/room (we booked two rooms, 4 adults, 1 child). Pretty happy with that. Thanks to this great site, took the guess work out, we pretty much knew we'd get this hotel, and for one night, it will be perfect. Of course, I used the HOTWIRE link :) Thanks team BB! CC :P PS here was the list of facilities provided before booking: Pet friendly , Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access, Tennis Nearby, Spa Services, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking, Roll-in shower
  9. Ok, so my husband and I decided just to pretty much take the guesswork out and went with HOTWIRE - using the link here of course! Worked out at roughly $435, including taxes, for 2 rooms, 5 pax, Intercontinental The Barclay. Pretty happy with that! Thanks so much for your help, and sorry I didn't do this part sooner. I feel like I've wasted your time. :( I'll post this win in the relevant section too. Thanks again CC :D
  10. Thanks so much for your help, I'll give it a go! But, before I do, curveball, I've just checked on Hotwire (same dates), but 2 rooms, entered 5 people, has come back with $497AUD (about $435USD, including taxes), 4*, MTE, with these facilities Pet friendly Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Internet access Tennis Nearby Spa Services Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower I'm thinking InterContinental Barclay. Wish I'd checked earlier :( as that may be as safe an option! CC
  11. Hi, I think price is probably the more important factor here, so anywhere in the given areas would work for us. I don't really know what's a reasonable amount for these areas at that time of year. From past experience, could you give some guidance as to what would be reasonable to pay? Thank you!
  12. Hi, we are a family of five going to NYC for about a week. We need first up 3 rooms for Sat 29 March. Can you suggest a bidding strategy please? As we need to get 3 rooms, I don't want to spend too much per room. But, if you can provide any guidance about what might be reasonable, that be great too. We are staying from the 30th in Hell's Kitchen, so that would be our preferred area first up. But, we'd also be prepared to stay in the following areas: Chelsea ESB MTW MTE Times Sq CPS. Anything from 3* up would be ok. Thanks in anticipation! CC
  13. Crowne Plaza LAX, $70 plus taxes, on their website for that date at $90. Listed as 3.5*, I see some others on this forum have it as 4*?
