  1. Updating so you can close this thread: we cancelled the trip. We have a graduation ceremony that we are obligated to attend over the holiday weekend. This is a huge bummer for us. I wanted to thank you all for your help in researching hotels. Thanks again.
  2. Our absolute max is $220, and that would be for something extraordinary like a 5*, which I understand isn't realistic. Thanks for the guess on Loews Regency.
  3. Sorry for going radio silent there, the work week got very crazy, very fast. Unfortunately because I waffled about, the prices seem a bit higher both on Hotwire and Priceline Express. I will continue to watch the prices, we booked a backup hotel (via the links on support page) that is cancelable, and I'll continue to update this thread. Also did some old-fashioned Priceline bidding for a 5* (hehe) in Central Park South, starting with $100 and going up in $5 increments with free re-bid zones to $220 = nothing. I wasn't expecting to really win. These dates are super expensive... must be all the school graduations. As an aside- Just noticed this 4.5 star hotel on Priceline Express for Central Park South. It's over my budget but I'm curious what it is, since there isn't anything on the hotel list for Priceline Express at this star level in this zone? 4.5* Central Park South $ 278 Rated 8.0 out of 10 (or higher) Pets Allowed Fitness Center Free Internet Business Center
  4. Hello! Two adults looking to stay in Midtown West (close to 57th x Broadway) from Wednesday May 20th to Sunday May 24th, 2015, under $250/night. Love the Hotwire Easy View tool! Can you help ID these? 3* MTC $182 60% recommend 3.5 TA rating FULL AMENITIES: Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access My guess: Wellington? This would be ideal: affordable + really close to our friend's apartment. Anyone know what the bed arrangement is through Hotwire? (1 double, etc.) 5* MTC $250 95% recommend 4.5 TA rating FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access My guess: Sofitel? a bit further south than we'd like On Priceline Express: 4* Central Park South $203 Amenities: Pets Allowed Restaurant Fitness Center Free Internet Business Center My guess: Renaissance 57 or Hudson?
  5. Oh, I wish I had known about the Support Page! :( Next time, definitely! Thanks again.
  6. Hi, sorry for the delay in response. After a long discussion, my partner was uncomfortable with the idea of bidding for a hotel, so we ended up booking the Huntley through Hotels.com. Thanks again for your help and I'm sorry we weren't able to use your advice!
  7. Hi all, I have been poring over the forums and absorbing as much info as possible, and always starting practice searches with the links up top - what a great resource! My question is: I'm trying to book a 4* hotel in LA (Santa Monica) for 12/31/13-1/1/14. The retail rates of hotels in the area are MUCH higher for New Year's Eve, as expected, but they drop for Jan 1. Will Priceline average the price of the two nights when considering my bid? Or should I create two separate bids, to avoid overpaying for Jan 1, but with the risk of staying in two separate hotels? Thanks in advance!
