Clicked the PRICELINE link after doing the research here for this Resort. I saw that couple of members posted successful bids at $123-125, but when i tried those rates for a wknd stay, no go, (6/24-6/26), I went upto as high as $165, still no go. So changed up the dates for weekdays, I got the $125 rate on the first try. After finding out here that this was the only Priceline resort in the Sea World area, i was very emboldened and bid confidently and sure enough i got the resort i wanted. Just a note to other potential bidders, there will be a $22/night resort fee at this facility. Just wanted to give an update on my stay: Stayed at the Crowne Plaza, while its not new, they renovated the rooms and its a pretty good hotel, i would stay there again.

Didnt want to risk it, so bid $45, even though earlier posts show the 3* Courtyard went for $40., got it on first try. I would have preferred the courtyard to the crowne even though the crowne plaza has better name. Clicked the PRICELINE link from betterbidding.com I wanted specifically a downtown norfolk hotel. Since it was a weekend, i thought i could score a 3.5* for $55, but didnt get it, lowered to 3* for $55, got the courtyard, which i think is wonderful, the building looks great on google maps. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $55.00 Subtotal: $110.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $24.42 Total Charges*: $134.42 I may have to end up staying another day in Norfolk, so i will try to extend my trip for the same price via PRICELINE, lets see if i can get the hotel for a weekday at the same price. 2nd stay in this trip: bid $50 for 3* in downtown norfolk/virginia beach, didnt get anything rebid $52 and added chesapeake, got the courtyard, which was wonderful, there was everything in close proximity, a cracker barrel, joe's crabshack, olive garden, target a mall, etc the hotel itself was clean and well maintained. First of 3 posts of my trip in Norfolk: Armed with info from this site i clicked the PRICELINE link. Couldn't get anything for $35 in the 2* range for Downtown norfolk/downtown portsmouth/norfolk airport so increased bid to $40, got the La Quinta, which was very bad to say the least, but they were stripping out the smelly carpet and putting a new one in, so maybe it will be better. Started at $30, went to 35 then 40, finally $43, selected zones south, central, southwest, lakeway & Northwest. Dates: 4 nites: Sat, Oct 4-Wed, 8th, 2008 Looking at the options from the Priceline list for NYC, I see the following hotels: SOHO 2* Clarion The GEM Hotel 2* Gild Hall Empire State Bldg 2* Clarion Park Avenue 2* Murray Hill Suites East - My ideal choice since my work is in the vicinity and looks like a good area for late evening drinks MSG 2* Best Western Convention Center Midtown East 2.5* Courtyard Marriott Midtown West 2* Washington Jefferson Hotel (previously 2.5*) Times Square/Theater Dist 2* Milford Plaza I guess my questions are, can the Murray Hill Suites can still be won for $90 as previously posted? if not what are my choices from the ones left, definitely want to stay below $105 all taxes inclusive. Whats the price for Gild Hall, and hows the commute from SOHO to central park? Thanks for your help.

I guess I may have got it for $70 too, I needed the room for saturday, i began casing priceline since tuesday, i put in a bid for $65 on wednesday for a 4*, but got a counter offer from priceline outlining that for $17 more i could get a 4* without any other options like expanding my search zones or adding lower star hotels, anyways i rejected that. On thursday i logged in and this time bid $72 and voila i got the Omni Downtown. i got it, its the sheraton suites for $58/day, dates: today, 4/7-4/9. 3.5* amenities: Rest, Pool, Fitness, Biz ctr, hi-speed.

I am trying for a hotel for today and I am getting a best value 3.5* hotel for $58, amenities are: restaurant, pool, fitness,hi-speed int, biz ctr. Does anybody know what this hotel is? I dont want to be stuck at the Hilton on 59-Southwest Fwy (Which falls under Houston-Galleria). There is another 3* in galleria for $61, amenities include rest, pool, fitness, hi-speed, biz ctr, laundry. any clues? thx.
