  1. I just checked to see if my post made it and see it says I got a rate of $0 -- yes this would really be a nice rate! I actually got it for $128 / nt + fees, taxes (which I thought I entered in your submission form). Can you please change the heading for me? Thanks
  2. Amenities were: Free breakfast, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, restaurant, business center, High-Speed Internet Access, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom 100% recommendation was showing before I booked, but now it isn't ?? I believe this is a new hotel for your list. I used the HOTWIRE link on betterbidding.
  3. Just a note, 5 years later as I'm looking for a hotel in London again, that London hotels were/are very overpriced for what you get. This Thistle hotel we had was not up to expectations for a 4* hotel in cities with newer / renovated rooms (e.g. North American resorts). We got stuck with a twin, where the single beds do not move, and a toilet that was probably 100 years old.
  4. Saw what I believe was the Westin Princeville come up on HOTWIRE for $134 ($50-$80 cheaper than it has been the last few months) and thought I'd try it on Priceline and got it on the first try for $110! I tried a couple months ago and went up to $140 and never got it, so I guess timing is the key. Looks like the Westin is the only 3.5* property in Princeville (4* in HOTWIRE), so was pretty sure that is what I'd get. I used the Better Bidding PRICELINE link.
  5. Started out with a $110 bid 4 days ago and worked up to $156 after 3 bids / day (including rebids in Kihei and Kahului). Not as great as other wins for Feb/Mar 2010 (and it is the Westin for a change), but it is spring break and better than the best rate we found on Westin website for $229.
  6. Sorry, I guess the dates got cut off the end of the subject line -- they are 12/16/09 - 12/22/09
  7. Started out yesterday with a bid of $55, then rebids of $60 and $64 adding 2 other Palm Springs zones without resorts, no luck. Tried again today with $68 and then $72 won! Pretty happy about this although I found a pre-pay rate of $119.25 on Hyatt.com, which is also a pretty good deal. Remembered to use the PRICELINE link from betterbidding this time too! Thanks to everyone for their help!
  8. Took a few tries to get something here for these dates -- started with $40 bid and slowly worked up to $58 -- still pretty cheap! Thanks to Better Bidding for the help!
  9. It took me a few tries to get this. I first started with the Mayfair/Soho district, 4*, bids of $90, $95, $98, $104 all rejected, sometimes counter offers of $191 or $131 given. Then I decided to try Bloomsbury/Marble Arch as read that it was a little cheaper but still a good location. Tried $85, $92, $95, $98, $100 (some combined with Mayfair/Soho to get rebid). Counter offers of $131 and $121 were given on some bids. Hope it turns out to be a decent hotel as I've read a few reviews that were not too favorable, but that's the chance you take with Priceline I guess!
  10. My first bid on Priceline for an Economy car for Jan 3-15,2006 for Maui airport OGG was $10/day and they accepted! It is with National rental car. They offered some options for upgrades and I decided to go with a mid-size for $2/day more.
  11. I booked with Hotwire for Oct. 2 on their 3.5* 'Best Buy' for $50.00 and got the Doubletree (I thought it was the Sheraton as that what was listed here). Still not too bad for $50. Amenities listed are: restaurant, pool, fitness centre, business center, tennis court, spa.
  12. Amenties were beachfront, casino, restaurants, pools, gym, business center, golf, tennis nearby. Note that these were not the EXACT same symbols that were shown on the Hotwire packages page (the package had an extra 'beach access' symbol at the start, and no tennis symbol), so this isn't always a reliable way to guess which hotel is offered in the non-package section.
  13. We just purchased 8 nights at the Aruba resort/4* listed in Hotwire for $103 and it turned out to be the Wyndham. The best rate we've seen for them is $139 for their 'Web Rate' (where pre-purchase required). Hope that helps someone!
  14. You were right the first time -- the price was $75+Bonus money. We just got a good deal on Hotwire too (for the second week), but I'll go post it in that thread.
  15. Priceline just accepted my bid of $75 for a resort hotel in Aruba for Jan 17/2004 (with my $10 coupon emailed this week) and we got the Renaissance. My first bid of $65 (under a different account without the coupon) was rejected. I was hoping for one of the nicer hotels on Palm Beach, but for this price, I figure I can't complain! Thanks for all the great info. I've gotten off this site!
