  1. It paid to wait until the last minute this time! The last few days, I was bidding and not winning anything, but this morning, I won the JW Marriott Essex House. It was $220/night which comes to $275.52. I think there's a fee as well, but I'm still under $300 total. Thanks for all of the suggestions on this site! Kristi
  2. NYC ROCKEFELLER, CPS, MTE or GCS Sept 28-29 under $300 My husband and I are looking for one night in a hotel as near to the NY St Regis as possible (55th and 5th Ave.) I have already bid using the links on this site using priceline up to $226 in these areas and nothing was accepted. (4.5 stars, 4 stars, and 3.5 stars.) I'll try bidding again tonight, but I'm also seeing some good express deals. Any ideas which hotels they may be? 4* grand central, good 7+, no extra hotel fee, amenities= Business Center, No Smoking rooms/Facilities $221 3* central park south, no rating, no hotel fee, many bed options (superior dbl private bath hairdryer iron, deluxe king...,premier king suite 350 sf...) amenities =Business center, Restaurant, No Smoking rooms/Facilities $262 I'd prefer a 3* or better under $300. thanks for you help, Kristi
  3. This really turned out well. I think they were blowing out rooms for the next day because the Priceline express price for a 4.5* MTE dropped to $166 just before I placed this winning bid on name your price. Thanks! Kristi
  4. Yes, both zones are acceptable. For five star, I guess we could even go up to 350. For 4.5, I would think no higher than 300, but I'd rather spend less. Thanks again! Kristi
  5. Thanks for you reply. I thought I would try bidding on the 5* Midtown East that I mentioned above which is listed on Name Your Own Price on Priceline. But if that fails, a 4.5 star would be fine. (Especially as I only have today to bid!). The most important thing is to be either in Midtown East or Empire State Zone. I am using the links from this site for my bidding. Kristi
  6. There's a 5 star for Mid Town East listed on Priceline with the following amenities: Pets, Gym, Breakfast, Business center and it has a 9+ rating? Any idea what hotel this is? Also, what would my bidding strategy be? I was planning to spend $200-$250, but would go up to about 300 if it's a really nice place. We would also be willing to stay in Empire State Building zone, if you see anything better. Thanks for your help, Kristi
  7. As it turns out, I had forgotten a rebid zone which allowed me to bid $290 on a 4.5 star, Times Square, fitness, pets, restaurant. And, I won the Intercontinental Times Square! Thank you for all of your assistance, this site is very valuable. Kristi
  8. For Oct 18-22, my bids for a Midtown west 4.5 star have been rejected up to $300. So I bid Times Square up to $283 and that was rejected. There's a Priceline Express deal listed as follows: 4½ Star Hotel in Times Square - Theatre District Area for $316/night Guest Score: Rated 8.0out of 10 (or higher) Guaranteed Amenities: Pets Allowed Restaurant Business Center Fitness Center I'm thinking of taking this deal. Can anyone ID the hotel? Second, how does the Fall5 discount and the discount from this board work? Can I combine them? Where do I enter the coupon codes as there was no option for this on the priceline express checkout screen? I have been accessing Priceline using the links on this site. Thank you, Kristi
  9. I am wondering if this might be the Algonquin Hotel, as we enjoyed staying there once before. Hotwire is saying the last person who booked this deal got the Algonquin. Cool hotel with restaurant dining on site Times Square - Theatre District Pet friendly Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Internet access Accessibility Roll-in shower 75% recommended. Any advice on this? Regards, Kristi
