  1. Thanks for your help. The Ivy looked great but had no fitness/gym so we went with what turned out to be the Godfrey (used the link, of course!) 4.5 stars, $75/night. Looking forward to it. Free Internet Boutique Smoke Free Fitness Restaurant Hi-Speed Internet Spa
  2. Hello- I am looking for a hotel in Chicago for 1/26-1/29. The prices seem pretty good and so I am looking at the 4* and 4.5* hotels in River North and Magnificent Mile. Here are a few I have identified and would love some help confirming my hunches. River North 4* @ $55/night with these amenities: FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Golf nearby, Spa services, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Wheelchair accessible, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower. I am guessing this is the Dana Hotel and Spa. Also RN but 4.5*, $76/night with these: FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Internet access, Spa services. I am thinking the Godfrey? Then in Mag Mile 4.5 for $70/night is FULL AMENITIES: Smoke-free rooms, Restaurant(s), Internet access so not much help there. I have narrowed it down to Gwen, Omni, Intercontinental, Thompson or Sofitel. My husband would love to stay in the Intercontinental, but with a better guess I don't know whether to risk it! Finally there is another MM 4.5@ $79/night The amenities are: FULL AMENITIES: Pet friendly, Boutique hotel, Indoor pool(s), Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Spa services, Children's activities I have it narrowed to W Chicago Lakeshore or Sofitel. Thanks for any help you can give, or if you think you see Intercontinental on Priceline express-- I didn't think so!
  3. Thanks-- this is very helpful. All things being equal I would rather stay in a great place downtown as well-- but we are visiting people in Hyde Park (where we lived for 6 years-- so I am not stranger to the area) and we need to spend more time with them and less commuting! The la Quinta doesn't thrill me, but may have to do it.
  4. Are you saying that you think that these are both the same La Quinta? One is rated at %95 and the second at %25. When I follow your instructions I get these as the full amenities for the first hotel (the $71 deal) Free parking, Free breakfast, Free Internet, Pet friendly, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access and these for the lesser price ($62) Free parking, Free Internet, Pet friendly, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Internet access, Golf nearby, bed choice So the wording on both is slightly different that what you posted above. I am not going to have a car and so being close to the university in the Jan. weather is important and the La Quinta is a hefty walk. Thanks for your advice!
  5. Looking at HOTWIRE and wanting to get a hotel in Hyde Park. I found one for my dates that I THINK is the Hyatt Place with the following amenities Free parking, Free breakfast, Free Internet, Pet friendly, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center My dates are 1/26-1/29 and this is a 3 star for $71 a night. (Hyatt website has $143 with AAA discount.) I see no Hyde Park listings and am concerned mostly because the HW listing says free parking while the Hyatt says parking for a fee. Can't think what else this would be though. Any advice? Will of course buy through the link.
  6. Perfect-- thank you so much. I knew I wasn't completely crazy!
  7. Searched the dates of 4/8-4/12 on the BiddingHelper.com and this 4* came up for $178 with the following amenities. Free Internet, Suite, Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Business center, Internet access, Kitchenette, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom Free Internet, Suite, Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Business center, Internet access, Kitchenette, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom I didn't see anything on the hotel its with that configuration, especially the kitchenette. (Except for the Quinn, which is a 5*.) Thanks for any help!
  8. I seem to remember that there was a tool here that would let you see hotels and prices for hotels that could be cancelled and used for backup. I cannot find it though, and feel like an idiot. Does such a thing (still) exist, and can you point me to it! Thanks for all your help!
  9. Hit buy and got a surprise! I thought it might be the Renwick as well, or perhaps the Fitzgerald, but got the Club Quarters, Grand Central! Looks to be a bit bland, but fine. The price ($94) with the discount is hard to beat! Bid through the BetterBidding HOTWIRE link.
  10. Listed as 4*, MTE, NYC travel 3/3-3/4 Room rate with $15 off discount= $94, 90% rating Amenities: Free Internet Boutique hotel Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Restaurant(s) Business center Self-service laundry Internet access Only the Fitzpatrick and Kimberly are listed, and the amenities set are much shorter. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
  11. Your call was perfect-- it was the Line, and even better, it had dropped even further to $128/night, which was way under anything that close in to downtown in that star rating. Bought through the HOTWIRE link, and thanks for your expert advice.
  12. I replied to the previous thread. Thanks for any help, and I will book through the link. Do you have any suggestions re: buying now vs waiting (with a cancelable reservation, although finding one that isn't super expensive isn't easy!)
  13. I followed up on the NYC thread-- thanks. There is this one as well: 3* DT Long Beach $130/night Free Internet Pet friendly Boutique hotel Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Internet access Accessible for visually impaired Accessible for hearing impaired Accessible path of travelIn-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Accessible parking Roll-in shower I cannot figure this one out either. And finally, do you think now is the time to buy, or wait until much closer to the time? Thanks for any help! I will bid/buy through the links
  14. Can anyone help me identify this one? 7/28-7/30, $157 Mid-Wiltshire, 4*, the following amenities: Free Internet Pet friendly Boutique hotel Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Internet access Accessible for visually impaired Accessible for hearing impaired Accessible path of travel In-room accessibilityAccessible bathroom Accessible parking Roll-in shower The only 4 star listed is THE LINE, and it seems to have a slightly different set of amenities. Do you think this is what it is? Thanks!
  15. Thanks again- I made a seperate thread because I thought I had to keep Priceline and Hotwire subjects separated!
  16. So sorry- This is a HOTWIRE CPW, and yes, same time frame. I have looked at too many websites in the last few days! I am fine with the Empire, but not sure I want a mystery hotel. Thanks, and of course I will bid through link. Just unsure whether to grab at anything that looks good or keep on monitoring for a price drop.
  17. There is a 3 star on UWS listed for $177 with the following amenities: Free Internet Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Internet access The Empire seems to be the only 3 star listed, but no amenities are stated in the list. Do you think the Empire is what this one is? Thanks!
  18. @251/night, 11/7-11/10 4* MTW Amenities are Free Internet in room Pets Allowed Restaurant Business Center Fitness Center The Express deals are hard to figure out! Thanks again, and will bed through the PRICELINE link for this or the other one I am trying to ID
  19. I have searched for the dates of 11/7-11/10 and found this 4* in Soho/Tribeca for $210/night, which seems like a reasonable deal with the coupon for a 3 day stay in November. The listed amenities are: Free Internet in public areas Pets Allowed Restaurant Business Center Fitness Center Rated 8/10 I am hoping it is the Tribeca Grand but the more I look the more I think it is the Sheraton. Any clue as to which hotel? Thanks in advance, and I will of course bid through the link!
