  1. The Hotwire now shows the same price $66 as Priceline. Mag Mile Water Tower amenities: FULL AMENITIES: Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower. We would like to get the Swiss based on the recommendations, so I guess that would likely be the $66 Priceline one? Thank you
  2. Thank you for the replies and the advice. Of all the options it sounds like the Swiss would be best. I checked Hotwire and the prices and amenities seem similar. Are they typically the same hotels? I also see there is one in McCormick Place. Would this be a better location closer to the Planetarium and Field Museums? Or stick with the Swiss since the location is more central (and possibly a nicer hotel?). 4* $124 McCormick Place Free Internet, Indoor pool(s), Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Golf nearby, Wheelchair accessible If you have any knowledge of whether the Museum Science and Industry is worth fitting in and whether it is best to drive to these places or take an Uber or Lyft I would appreciate any advice you have. Thank you very much for the help!
  3. Hello, This is a last minute trip, so I understand if no one has time to reply. I will still post what we end up getting. We have two adults, two small children and are going to Chicago primarily to go to the Planetarium, Field Museum and Children's Museum and do a little touring. We will have a car. I was looking in the Millennium Park and Grant Park and Mag Mile areas just to narrow it down, but am open to other options. Our goals are to find a less expensive parking option near our hotel and be somewhat close to the attractions we would like to visit. A pool would be a bonus, but not a deal-breaker. Would like to keep around $70-75, but if there is an outstanding option for a little more, would consider that. Using the BiddingHelper.com I see for PRICELINE EXPRESS: Magnificent Mile -Gold Coast Rated 8.0 out of 10 (or higher) $70 Pets Allowed Business Center Restaurant Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities - Hyatt? Downtown Chicago - Millennium Park Rated 8.0 out of 10 (or higher) $71 Pets Allowed Business Center Indoor or Outdoor Pool Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Downtown Chicago - Millennium Park Rated 9.0 out of 10 (or higher) $95 Pets Allowed Business Center Restaurant Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Thank you very much.
  4. I ended up using my rewards points for my Hyatt stay so that we could stay in the same room for all nights and there wasn't a price that fit what I wanted. The hotel was in a great location for us and we had a very nice room with a balcony overlooking the ocean. Beyond that it was a typical conference hotel and had some construction occurring inside. Thanks for the help, all.
  5. Yes, the fees and taxes significantly increase the price. I will take the total price into consideration. Thank you for the help!
  6. All good points, thanks. Hopefully one of the experts can give me an idea what the "repeating" hotel(s) are. It certainly would be easier to move as little as possible.
  7. Thank you for your reply and information. I apologize for the delayed response. I had selected to be following the thread and to be notified instantly, however I did not see any notification. Is there something else I need to select to be emailed when responses are posted? * I think the best way to handle the three nights is use reward points (15,000) for the 26th at the Hyatt Regency. This night does seem to be much more expensive than the other two. * For the 24th and 25th, my options would be to book together (from BiddingHelper): HW - 4*, $151/nt Financial District - Embarcadero Amenities Include: Internet access, Pet friendly, Fitness center, Business center, Internet access PL - 4*, $158/nt Financial District - Embarcadero Rated 8.0 out of 10 (or higher) Business Center, Restaurant, Free Internet, Fitness Center * Or separately: 24th HW - 4*, $159/nt Financial District - Embarcadero FULL AMENITIES: Pet friendly, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access HW - 4*, $178/nt Fishermans Wharf FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Business center, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Wheelchair accessible, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower HW - 4.5*, $213/nt Union Square East FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Spa services, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower PL - 4*, $167/nt Financial District - Embarcadero, 8/10 or higher Business Center, Restaurant, Free Internet, Fitness Center PL - 4*, $188/nt Fishermans Wharf, 7/10 or higher Business Center, Restaurant, Free Internet, Indoor or Outdoor Pool, Fitness Center PL - 4*, $208/nt Union Square East - Nob Hill Rated 8.0 out of 10 (or higher) Business Center, Restaurant, Fitness Center 25th HW - 4*, $137/nt Financial District FULL AMENITIES: Pet friendly, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access PL - 4*, $144/nt Financial District Rated 8.0 out of 10 (or higher) Business Center, Restaurant, Free Internet, Fitness Center I suppose one last option would be to name a price on Priceline for 24-26 or each night individually. I really appreciate any advice! I know I've presented a lot of options, I am just trying to find the nicest hotel for the best price (like everyone!). Kind regards
  8. Hello, I am looking for a hotel in San Francisco 10/24 through 10/27. I was hoping to find a 5 for under $230 or a 4.5* for under $180 in Fishermans Wharf, Financial District, SOMA, or Union Square East. I have tried bidding multiple times on Priceline with my top bid for 5* being $230 and 4.5* 180. I am wondering if these prices are unrealistic or if perhaps I should be searching for just 10/24-10/26. I would prefer not to change hotels if possible, but I do have rewards points I could use to book the Hyatt Regency. Looking at reviews it just didn't seem that special. I would potentially be open to a 4*, it just seemed there are a lot more options as far as what I may end up with versus the more limited 5/4.5*. The second part of our trip we are staying in Monterey starting the 27th. I had considered looking for a hotel in the Big Sur area for the 26th, but it does not seem like there are a lot of options that would fit for our budget and comfort. I suppose we could go to Monterey early or use rewards for the 26th in San Francisco if you think I would have a better shot getting a lower price on weekend nights. I appreciate any advice you may have.
