Just got the Omni Austin Hotel Downtown for $100/night for ACL weekend. I noticed on Hotwire there was a downtown 4* hotel on there today for $118 (been checking everyday for the last week), so I figured I would try Priceline for a little less. Unfortunately I tried $100 for a 4* hotel in the downtown area for my first try and won, so it's possible you can bid a little lower and still get the same.

Made an opening bid of $60 and it was accepted, using the PRICELINE link. I guess I should've started lower but still a great price.

I'm trying to get a hotel in the same area (and hopefully same hotel) for the dates of 11/26- 11/28 but I am not getting accepted for up to $85. Do you think it's because I'm trying to stay on the weekend as opposed to Wed-Sat. like MS300?

I just bid on basically the same thing as this Priceline New Orleans thread and got the same result for a hotel in New Orleans from June 21-23. bid $45 at downtown - rejected. added Airport(there are no 4* there), bid $50 - rejected added west bank (there are no 4*) - bid $55 - accepted!
