Got it for $165. The Surfcomber as I expected. Thanks for your help. Delighted with that.
Used PRICELINE link on betterbidding website too!
Ok great thanks. I would like to bid on Collins Avenue - Oceanfront for a minimum 4 star and only this area. Maximum bid $200 per night. If you can advise on a strategy, that would be much appreciated. Thanks.
I have found a deal on the express deals for a 4* hotel in South Beach - Collins Avenue Oceanfront for $207 a night for 3 nights from 5th - 8th June. Amenities - Outdoor Pool, Restaurant, pets allowed. I think it is the Surfcomber.
I see in the list view of hotels that the Surfcomber ($341) and the Shore Club ($372 a night) are available and these are on the betterbidding hotel list. Would the hotel I choose on the express deal be one of these 2 as none of the other 4* hotels are available on the list view, for example the Sagamore or Raleigh?
Also I plan on bidding for this 4* on Collins Avenue. Can you advise of a starting bidding price and strategy/locations? Minimum 4*.
Thanks.
Got my second night with a bid of $230. I was hoping I would get the Marriott again but unfortunately it's the Hilton Back Bay so I have to check out of the Marriott on saturday and check into the Hilton. I don't mind as its only a short distance away. I was lucky as the last few days only a 4 star at $466 or a 2 star at $263 was available in the Back Bay area.
3.5 star came back online today for $252 in the express deals. Judging by the 2 deals I got friday and saturday, you get 10% off the express deal prices when bidding.
I bid $200, $210, $220 all unsuccessful and then success with $230.
Booked throught the PRICELINE link here.
Thanks for the help.
Bids of $140, $150, $160, $170, $180 all rejected for Back bay 3.5 star. $190 accepted. List view was $299 as was hotel website.
It was available on express deals for $201.
Still looking for saturday the 5th. Rooms are very expensive that night. Express deals only have 4 star in Back bay for $467 and 2 star for $235.
For a 3 star in brookline maximum $170 would be my bid. Yes they are for the same dates and would be as an alternative to the downtown zones.
I should finalise plans in the next few days as to which area to stay. Thanks.
Thanks for that bidding strategy. Our friends live in brookline, so we may also stay out there for the 2 nights. Yet to decide.
I see that the highest star hotel is 3 for that area. At what price would you recommend bidding? I realise that there are not as many re-bid zones to add for brookline.
Quincy market is also fine for location. Thanks.
Hi, new to this and after reading a few threads I have an idea of the rebidding process. I am looking to see what would be the best starting price strategy for a 4 star hotel in the Boston Common-Theatre District area or Copley Square-Back Bay area for 2 nights 4th and 5th October. Would go down to 3 star also if unsuccessful. My budget is $200 a night.
Also, is there roughly 10-20% taxes on top? So a successfull 2 night stay at $200 would cost around $450-$500?
Like anything i guess it's based on demand, so prices can go up or down if I wait closer to the dates?
Thanks.
