1. Hmmm. I am a little hesitant to stay at the Aloft. I have stayed there before and I liked it. However, this is a family trip and we are looking for three rooms. One of the rooms will be occupied by my 84 year old mother and her 80 year old sister. I am not sure how the party that cranks up on Fridays would go over with them...haha. The description says restful and that really isn't all that accurate but my husband and I enjoyed the festivities and I'd book it if just for us. Cool vibe. I also saw what I think is the EB for $136 but all the fees take it up to $167. That is a very nice place to stay...gorgeous property and excellent service. We are staying one night pre-cruise so I guess I'll keep shopping. Thank you. I'll use the links and report back if I use HW or PL for the stay.
2. This is described as "Restful 3-star boutique hotel in Miami Intl Airport (MIA) West - Doral area." We are looking for one night 5/20/16. It is listed for $85 and the amenities are: Complimentary Free InternetFree parking Amenities Boutique hotelFitness centerPool(s) Full Amenities on BiddingHelper.com: Free parking, Free Internet, Boutique hotel, Fitness center, Pool(s), Internet access Any guesses?
3. I could not put it off any longer. I am dealing with my 83 year old mom who was getting too stressed out over not knowing we had a room. She doesn't really understand the whole priceline/hotwire thing and thinks the prices of hotels in San Francisco will destroy the American economy. I couldn't listen to that anymore so I took the express deal feeling pretty confident that it was the Argonaut. On room choices, it listed bay view and the other 4 star hotels in FW do not have bay view rooms (to my knowledge anyway). I used the PRICELINE link and bid up to $240 before I took the express deal.
4. I guess I should have jumped on that deal. I didn't and now it is gone. :(
5. PRICELINE EXPRESS 4 Star Hotel in Fisherman's Wharf Area for $256 I am looking at booking 2 rooms Rated 9.0 out of 10 (or higher) Pets Allowed Restaurant Business Center That's all the info that is given.
6. While waiting on the opinion as to which hotel this is on Hot.wire, I used up my bids for the day on Price.line. Using the 6 rebid zones, I went all the way up to $230 in Fishermans Wharf with no luck. It seems I always time my trips with a convention of some sort.
7. Yes, I still see it but it is $248 on HOTWIRE. It shows as $243 on BiddingHelper.com. It has a 95% recommendation rating. I need 2 rooms with 2 adults in each room. We want that area. I bid on USE using PRICELINE (used link on this site and reported the win) for the precruise hotel stay. We are just staying one day post cruise, we know we'll be tired so we want to just do the tourist thing in the Wharf that day...9/10. I see the one for $303 as well.
8. I am guessing (hoping) the Argonaut. What do you think? $243 for each of 2 rooms FULL AMENITIES from BiddingHelper.com: Free Internet Pet friendly Boutique Hotel Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Internet access Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower
9. I tried to post this once and it disappeared. I will try to patiently enter the info again. I started bidding (used the Priceline link here) several days ago for a precruise stay from 8/27-8/30. I needed 2 rooms. I noticed the rack rates were freaky high...as in 4* for $400 + in all the areas I was interested in which included USE, SOMA, Financial District and Fisherman's wharf. I was using the creative rebidding strategie which can give you more rebids than you know what to do with in a city with zones like SF but having no luck up to my maximum of $200 per diem in a 4* or above. I decided the prices were just way too high and decided to investigate why. I discovered a 20,000 person convention is going on from 8/25-8/28. When I changed my trip arrival from 8/27 to 8/28, things looked better. Rack rates were back to high for where I live but probably typical for San Francisco. I started bidding at $100 and at $160 I won the Sir Francis Drake. It's not my hotel fantasy but as long as it's clean and comfortable, I think the location is what I was looking for. Last trip I won the Palace and the Intercontinental (SOMA) each for under $100. At that time the Palace was the oldest and the Intercontinental was the newest hotel in SF and it was fantastic in both. After that experience almost anything is sure to be a letdown. Now I have to rest up and begin the post cruise bidding. Happy bidding to all!
