FYI -- Rooms that 'bidders' get at the City Club are 195 sq feet. They're considered "petite rooms" and are only recommended for a 1 night's stay. Management won't upgrade/change without a $50 upgrade fee per night to a regular queen room. All rooms are by the elevators & don't have a view.

For bidding, the goal is to get as low as possible for a min 4* property. I'd assume my max price if I started to bid would be at the 250 night/rate that the express deals was giving me (or 237 w/ 5% off). Going for work, so don't really care about the property, as long as it's walking distance to the office.

Hi, I must stay in Tribeca-Soho. What do you think my starting bid should be? 4* or 4.5*s. There's a priceline express deal for 251 per night, 603 after taxes. Is there any way to rebid if i'm not willing to change zones?

I called vdara reservations and they said all rooms have pullout couches. I didn't end up changing my reso -- if the pullout ends up being uncomfortable, I can always complain.

I called HOTWIRE and they granted me the option of choosing another hotel option since I wasn't satisfied w/ the pullout couch -- but they again don't guarantee that the 2nd hotel would have 2 actual beds. Their CS reps are damn good at not letting the customer get in a word -- they must be used to people calling in & trying to change reservations. I guess I'll take it for now. Apparently all Vdara rooms have pullout couches -- so I paid more for writing in 4 guests vs. 2. Maybe I'll try getting the same hotel to pop up with a guest count of 2, and rebooking???

crap -- it's 1 king & 1 pullout sofa. apparently all of vdara is like that.

Ended up booking south strip and got the Vdara
