  1. Billing Date: January 3, 2004 Your Offer Price: $29.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $29.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $9.49 Total Charges: $38.49 I have read some not so great reviews about this place so I will review after I stay next weekend. As of last week I read that this hotel was still under construction although their website says newly renovated. I just need a place to sleep, I'm planning on hitting IKEA and Sweet Tomatoes so I'm hoping for just a clean non-smoking room with 2 beds:) I bid 3* Shaumburg $27 was countered with an extra $7 and said no due to 3 free rebids Rebid with AHN (free rebid) at $29 and was successful
  2. Booked this room for the 30th and 31st of Dec. (New Years). It is located right off of Hwy. 41/45 (as a matter of fact my room had a view of this lovely Hwy). We had no problems checking in and the gentleman at the desk was very friendly. I did notice however that my room # had already been assigned to me as it was pre-printed on my sign in form. I also noticed that there was a section HIGHLIGHTED on the sign in form saying that if I smoked in my non-smoking (priceline booked) room that I would be charged $20. I was happy to see a non-smoking room as that was what I wanted anyway but it was something new I hadn't had to sign when checking in with a priceline reservation. The hotel was clean and seemed recently remodeled for the most part. There is NO pool at this hotel. There is NO whirlpool at this hotel either. There was a small work out room with t.v. and air conditioning YEAH! This hotel is an all suite hotel as the name refers to. Our room had a sad:( couch in it along with a simple desk, mini fridge, small microwave, coffee maker, extra sink (beside bathroom sink) and some dishes. The bed was only a queen bed but the TV had plenty of channels and was 25 inches (although it had a volume cap on it we couldn't get rid of so you couldn't blast your t.v. and it was a little fuzzy) There is a small pantry vending area down next to the front desk to purchase food and beverage. The lobby had fresh popcorn and flavored coffees and teas available all the time. The hotel also offered a FREE made to order breakfast in it's breakfast room which was a nice bonus (since our room was $36 a night) Whether you wanted cereal or the whole eggs, bacon, sausage, french toast, pancakes ect. breakfast this one hit the spot! Overall our stay was very nice and well worth the price we paid. Our room and the hotel were clean and employees were friendly...if it only had a pool...
  3. Billing Date: December 29, 2003 Your Offer Price: $36.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $72.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $17.08 Total Charges: $89.08 Bid in Brookfield Area for 3* at $35 and $38 with rebid-no luck Bid $38 in all other areas for 3*-no luck Bid $34 for 2.5* in Brookfield-no luck Bid $35 for 2.5* free rebid-no luck Added Milwaukee northwest 2.5* bid $36= success I bid this on the 29th of Dec. for a 2 night stay for the 30th and 31st.
  4. Thank you gleff! I'm a HH card holder now too:) *Very exciting since we have a family wedding at a hilton this summer and now I can get tons of points off of my family!
  5. This hotel is right off Hwy. 12/18 and very easy to locate from the highway. It is actually located just inside of the Monona city limits. We booked a weekend stay for 2 rooms (Fri and Sat) and it happened to be home Badger game so the hotel was full. We had called ahead and requested non-smoking rooms and were told they would do what they could. We arrived at about 6:30pm on Friday night and the hotel wasn't full that night so the front desk was able to get us non-smoking ajoining rooms for Fri night but couldn't promise Sat. night, but I took the rooms figuring they would have to find us on Sat. to get us to move or move our things for us :) There was one young woman on the desk and she was wonderful and did it even though she knew we were priceline guests. The other woman who came out to help her seemed upset with her that she was going to give us the rooms. The hotel itself was great. Even with the hotel being full it was quiet on Sat. night. They offer a great continental breakfast with just about everything including waffles. Cookies and apples were always available in the lobby also. The pool was nice and was clean, there was a whirlpool, and also a fitness room (although the fitness room was right off the pool and was not airconditioned so about 1/2 hr. was all you could stand on the treadmill). There was also a small game room but I didn't go in. Maid service was excellent. The room was nice, smelled good, and clean but beware of the showers at peak morning times there was no hot water left! We had a great stay and I would definatley book this property again. Oh yes...parking was free and lots of it:)
  6. As usual I think you are right:) I think it is across the street from the beach=access.
  7. I'm not really familiar with this area but couldn't this be the Days Inn Bahia Cabana Beach? The amenities and star match but NOTHING IS FOR SURE:) I agree with steering clear of a 2* on Hotwire for $91. Usually (not always) a 2* on Priceline in my experience has been a better deal. If it were me I would try bidding several times on Priceline before $91 on Hotwire..but just my opinion.
  8. I've searched and searched and can't figure this one out.... Jan. 29- Feb. 1, 2004 3* strip hotel- $74/night Casino, Restaurant, Pool Am I missing something? Is this just one of the "usual" hotwire hotels with some amenities not listed?
  9. While looking for Vegas packages I found a new one: 3* Fitzgeralds (Downtown) Casino, Restaurant, Pool
  10. I'm looking at getting married in Las Vegas on Fri. May 28, 2004..which happens to be the friday of Memorial Day weekend. Has anyone on here ever gotten married in Las Vegas or been to a wedding in Las Vegas? Is there anything I should know about Memorial Day weekend? I've never stayed in Vegas over this weekend. Wondering if bidding a hotel stay for the 27th-1st is a good risk for a wedding..thinking maybe not. Anyway any help at all would be wonderful :) Thanks!
  11. This hotel is located very close to the MKE airport and we used it to stay over the night before an early flight. I have used both the Radisson and Baymont Inn also in the airport area and this hotel was by far the nicest. I bid only $38 and it was accepted on my first try. We stayed here the night before our flight left and we able to leave our car there our entire trip and use their shuttles. The cheapest parking at the airport is $6 a day so your hotel is basically free if you are on a long enough trip either way it is the way to go if you are traveling from out of town for an early flight. Traffic through Milwaukee can be horrible on a weekday morning. We arrived very late like 11:30 pm and there was no problem. The front desk was very friendly and told us about all the hotel had to offer. Our room was in the International Building (aka older part) but it was still very nice. It was clean, up to date, no funny smells, very quiet. The hotel was full service (pool, hot tub, fitness, lounge, restaurant, bus. center ..seemed a bit small and room service). We looked at the room service menu that was in the room it seemed normally priced, but then I saw a breakfast card on the door and looked at it. It had to be out by 2am but the prices were much cheaper. We each got 2 eggs, bacon, hash browns, toast, and orange juice for 6.75! It arrived on time and was very good well worth it and much better deal than the airport. One big plus was the hotel shuttle service to the airport. It ran on demand 24hrs. which is not the case at some of the hotels in this area, so no matter when your flight was you could get a ride. The ride to the airport was short..less than 5 min and both shuttle drivers were very friendly. Overall this was an excellent hotel and I would stay there again anytime. Oh yes..and it was very easy to get our shuttle when our flight came in...there is a phone near the baggage claim and you can push the button for the hotel and they will be there right away. Our shuttle driver was there faster than many of the rental car and other hotel shuttles.
  12. Four Points Sheraton Milwaukee Check-In Date: Thursday, September 4, 2003 Check-Out Date: Friday, September 5, 2003 South Milwaukee 4747 S Howell Ave Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53207 414-481-8000 Your Offer Price: $38.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $38.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $11.64 Total Charges: $49.64 This was a first bid accepted situation. I have stayed at the Raddison which is close to this property also (both are close the MKE airport) and paid around this price in the past on priceline so I kind of guessed at the price. This was a very nice hotel well worth the $38! Read review.
  13. First of all I would not recommed this hotel. It started from the minute I got there the only parking was vallet and it was $10 a day, and I was going to be there 8 days! Check in went ok I got a new person and he was "very friendly" and actually the nicest person and the only staff member that seemed to smile. He helped us out a bit with parking because we were there over a holiday weekend he informed us that we could use street parking free of charge over the weekend but there were only a few "safe spots" in front of the hotel. So you hated to move your car for fear you couldn't get another spot. This hotel is in an area that is not exactly safe. We were told not to walk the downtown area at night, which I guess is normal for most downtowns. The only good part about this hotel was the pool. It was a nice size and most of the days it was clean. But there were several people who didn't appear to be staying at the hotel using the pool...one guy kept showing up on a bike and didn't look like tourist..quite rude at that, almost running you over (yes he would ride his bike right into the pool area!) As for our room...not even close to 3* quality. The room was dingy..dark..didn't feel clean, and looked right out on the roof and men were working on it the whole time we were there. The decor was way out of date and there were no baseboards the carpet just sort of ended at the wall. Furniture was in poor conditioned and needed to be replaced. Our hair dryer had been removed from the bathroom wall...I asked for another one to be put in it's place..and it was. We did have a coffee maker in our room but there was no pot in it. I asked at the desk where it was and I was told too many people leave them on or break them so they are not in the room. I was told I could get coffee from room service. I then asked why it wasn't just removed from the room and was told that if they did it would mean that they could loose a star level?? So i guess a coffee maker listed as an amenity doesn't mean that it has a coffee pot. There were 2 times during our 8 night stay where our room wasn't cleaned and we had to ask for towels at the desk. Oh yes...and it was a handicapped room! Wider doors and a bigger bathroom you think..well yes but yep you guessed it was a shower from h*ll. With one shower our bathroom would flood. We started piling towels up to make a wall to try to keep the flooding down. As you can imagine I would be very careful never to bid as low as a 3* including this zone ever again. I really don't think it was near a 3* quality, but I have to wonder if I just got a "special" room due to the priceline rate. This was my worst experience on priceline..had I booked it through Hilton heads would have rolled, and I would have checked right back out.
  14. St Petersburg Bayfront Hilton Check-In Date: Saturday, May 24, 2003 Check-Out Date: Sunday, June 1, 2003 St. Petersburg 333 First Street South Petersburg, Florida 33701 727-894-5000 Your Offer Price: $50.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 8 Subtotal: $400.00 Taxes: $36.96 Processing Fee: $5.95 Total Charges: $442.91 I honestly don't remember what I all bid and got rejected but I tried resort $50, 4* $50 in all of these areas and was rejected and rejected. I finally ended up down to a 3*(with a smaller bid starting around $38) these were all reject areas... Clearwater Beach Madeira Beach North Clearwater - Safety Harbor Area Sand Key South St. Petersburg St. Petersburg Beach Tarpon Springs Treasure Island After adding the St. Petersburg area I got this hotel and had to bid up to $50 just to get it. Not sure what was going on if this is an expensive area but this hotel in my opinion was not worth $50 read my review!
  15. This is an older Holiday Inn property but it was kept up pretty well and was clean. Checking in was really easy and we had no problems with it being a Hotwire reservation. We had 4 rooms on this reservation and they were very nice about honoring our bedding requests and room requests (2 beds-non-smoking..we called after making reservation). We checked in at about 4pm and we were glad we did as there was a couple checking in later that night and I overheard them being told that they didn't have any non-smoking rooms left and that they were sorry but with an online reservation such as theres (Im guessing Hotwire) it was not guarenteed. They were able to get all 4 rooms on the same floor even. The hotel has a lounge, restaurant(wasn't open over holiday weekend), room service (some of our group used this and thought it was very acceptable with food and prices) a fitness center (a little older but still very usable) and a hot tub & pool. We all used the hot tub and pool and it was acceptable but there were few towels (we asked for more they brought more) and quite crowded as I think the hotel was almost at capacity. The rooms were nothing special, one overlooked the atrium lobby quite nice, and two overlooked the back parking lot, and one overlooked the roof:( The bedding and room was clean and what you would expect at a 3* hotel. I would stay there again if the need arised.
  16. Wow you are fast! Well the 5* would be nice but is not needed. My girlfriends and I are all meeting there so we are having a difficult time pinning down the exact nights everyone will get there. I agree with you I would like to start bidding now and rebid and rebid :) I have been checking Hotwire lately and the one 4* they are showing (I think it is Treasure Island based on the vacations) is like 200+ dollars..which is way too much. I have checked into conventions but nothing to big that weekend, so I'm not sure why Hotwire is so expensive. I'll try hotel websites and see what kinds of deals I can find...thanks again.
  17. I'm going to Las Vegas in late Jan of 2004 and would like to book a hotel as a back up and try to bid on priceline closer to my date. I'm just wondering if someone could tell me where is the best place to get a back up hotel..the best price with easy cancellation. Thanks for any help that you can give me
  18. I stayed mid-week at Treasure Island in Jan. of last year and I'm sorry I don't remember the icons but I only bid $40 a night and stayed 2 nights a wed. and thur. night. I know this is a really dead time in vegas but just wanted to mention it is possible. The other funny thing was that the morning we were to check out we received a letter under our door inviting us to stay up to 7! more days at 89.00 a night.
  19. Thanks for the welcome. I was very happy to find this page as it seems others are just like me when it comes to these sites. Thank you for hosting it. As for the golf nearby icon I really don't believe that it was there. It was the only hotel at 3* that came up when I was looking for a hotel in that area, and I looked for it again last night and it seemed to be that same hotel (the only 3* shown again) and there was no golf nearby icon so I'm not sure why it appears with the vacation page????
  20. I stayed over Labor Day weekend at the Holiday Inn Minneaplois West and paid $44.00 a night for 2 nights and we reserved 4 rooms at this price. We were in town for a wedding and the bride and groom reserved rooms their and the discounted wedding block rate was $64 a night. It was listed as a 3 star hotel with restaurant, pool and fitness center. We checked in early but had called to request non-smoking rooms and had no problem getting them..altough I did overhear someone else at the desk later that night not able to get a non-smoking room because they didn't call ahead and the hotel was booked up, so this hotel is worth calling. We had a pleasant stay it wasn't a new property but was clean and the staff seemed very friendly and helpful. Was well worth the 44.00 a night. Here are the details: Location: Minneapolis, MN City Area: West Minneapolis Hotel Quality: 3-star Midscale Holiday Inn Minneapolis - West, MN 9970 Wayzata Blvd. Minneapolis, MN 55426 (952) 593-1918 Check-in Date: Sat, Aug 30, 2003 Check-out Date: Mon, Sep 1, 2003 Number Of Rooms: 4 Number of Nights: 2 Price per night: $44.00 Subtotal: $352.00 Total Taxes and Booking Fees: $28.95 Total: $380.95
