  1. Hi there, Just won a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal in Miami Airport West (Doral) for a 3* hotel and this hotel is not yet in the hotel list. Will you please add Hyatt Place Miami to PRICELINE EXPRESS 3* Hotel List? Thanks! 3-Star Express Deal Hotel $77 Miami Airport West - Doral Hotel Amenities: Free Breakfast Free Internet (in Room) Free Parking Pet Allowed Outdoor Pool Shuttle Non-Smoking Fitness Center Restaurant Business Center Guest rating on Priceline for this hotel is 7+ but Tripadvisor has 4 out of 5.
  2. For Sept 1-2, 2018, I did a search and saw that PRICELINE EXPRESS deal showed a 2.5* in Marathon for $126. The description made it sound like the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Marathon. Descriptions were: Free Parking, Free Internet, Free Breakfast Business Center Restaurant Swimming Pool Fitness Center. I did not immediately bought it and wanting to see if I can beat it with PRICELINE's Name Your Own Price. I tried $100 $110 $115 $118 and realized i probably cant save much by bidding. In the end, I bought via PRICELINE EXPRESS and indeed, it was Holiday Inn Express & Suites Marathon. The going rate was $235 at IHG.com Thank you for providing this forum for users to share their success stories.
  3. I believe you are right thereyouare. Clicking the actual link takes me to a page where it says the offer expired or that I can not buy it. I guess must be some form of priceline malfunction. If it did work, it'd be a fantastic price !! Tks for your help and I'll keep searching !
  4. Thanks for your response AaronJB, I just ran a check again and it looks like the deal is still there. Again, the description is "Free Internet, Business Center, Fitness Center, Non Smoking, Restaurant.." Any idea who this may be? Jeff
  5. Hi all, Wonder if I can get some help with this search. The dates are 4/21 - 4/23/18, I get a Priceline Express deal at Fisherman's Wharf for $113, descriptions are "..Free Internet, Fitness Center, Restaurant, Business Center, Non Smoking, Restaurant." From the Priceline Hotel list on this site, there is only one report of "Holiday Inn Express Fisherman's Wharf," but to me I don't think that could be it.. ANy other ideas?
  6. As this was over 2016 Labor day weekend, prices are quite a big higher than what I've seen posted on the board.. HOTWIRE / PRICELINE were all asking $50+ for midsize for no bidding.. Over the course of 3 days, I bidded: $22 - midsize $23 - standard size $25 midsize $26 standard $27 midsize finally accepted.. Everything included was Rental Car Cost:$108 (4 x $27.00) Taxes & Fees:$48.03 Total Charged:$156.03
  7. I have 6 rebid zones but didn't use them all before I got an offer, I bidded $65 68 70 72 73 and then got the win at $73.
  8. I have 2 days of travel 7/24 - 7/26/15 that I wanted to book. Initially I tried bidding for both days but didn't get anything with a reasonable offer, so I decided to book one day at a time and it worked !! For 7/24/15 and a 3 star in Austin Central, I have 6 rebid zones but didn't use them all before I got an offer, I bidded $60 63 68 and then got the win at $70.
  9. Thanks for your tip Enthus. I agree to check PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals to "zoom in" on the bid price. However, your dates of 9/21-9/22 where Express Deal is only $113, that's truly incredible. Apparently my dates later in the month end up $80 higher on the Express Deal offer =(
  10. I'm very glad for the incredible price for this win over 9/2/13-9/3/13. While randomly browsing on Hotwire, I saw they advertised a "hidden (where the hotel name is not revealed)" deal in the Financial district 4* for $106, surprisingly, at that time 3* hotels costs more than 4* !! I then double-checked Priceline to see what comparable 4* would cost in the Financial district, turned out the cheapest was $179. I then proceeded to bidding in the financial area. Not wanting to pay $106 in the financial area, I started initial bid with $90 on a 3* (knowing more than likely they'll give me 4* since the hotwire "hidden" search shows 4* cheaper than 3* ), and I was immediately awarded with a 4* Hyatt Regency. No second bid needed. Very happy with the result and hope this helps with some of you still searching. Jeff
  11. First attempt at 3.5* for $51 and was accepted for 6/24-6/25/12. Hilton Houston Southwest 6780 Southwest Freeway Houston, TX 77074 winning bid: $51 incl taxes: $66.94
  12. First attempt at $48 for 2 1/2 star in 2.5* Houston (Westchase - Southwest), immediately accepted by Quality Inn & Suites for 6/23/12 - 6/24/12 one night. 2930 West Sam Houston Parkway South, Houston, TX 77042 | 713-785-3899 Winning bid: $48 Total including taxes: $63.39
  13. Won on the 1st attempt - maybe a little too high? I tried a 2 1/2 star for $53 in Westchase - Houston Southwest, was awarded a 3 1/2 star Marriott Houston Westchase at 2900 Briarpark Drive, Houston, TX 77042 Total after tax : $69.29
  14. I did some research on this forum and looks like people have been paying $55-65 for 3 - 3 1/2 * for a hotel in PHL zone. My 1st attempt for a 3 1/2* tried $50. I was given opportunity to "up $14" for another chance, I didn't take the bait and added a 3* to the zone and tried $53 and was accepted. Used the PRICELINE Link to start my bidding. Details: Check-In Date: Fri, Jul 3, 2009 / After 03:00 PM Check-Out Date: Sat, Jul 4, 2009 / 12:00 PM Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $53.00 Subtotal: $53.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $15.43 Total Charges*: $68.43 Happy Bidding
  15. I saw an earlier post of someone getting a successful bid for 2* Boston (Brighton-Brookline) Best Western Terrace Inn, $48 ... 7/1/09-7/3/09 Since I wanted to stay in Brookline as well, and since it's 7/4 long weekend, I figured I upped the first bid a few dollars to $55. It took Priceline a long time, maybe 10 min, before the screen finally refreshes and says that I won the bid. Was successful upon the 1st bid. I guess could've been a few dollars less =) Details: Check-In Date: Sat, Jul 4, 2009 / After 03:00 PM Check-Out Date: Mon, Jul 6, 2009 / 11:00 AM Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $55.00 Subtotal: $110.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $22.27 Total Charges*: $132.27 Happy Bidding! :)
  16. Hi thereyouare, Here is what I've found out about PL bidding and that I've decided to purchase via National Car rental. We talked about PL suggested $23/day to start bidding for my car rental at Buffalo ariport on mar 13-14. It turns out, since this is my 1st try at car rental, I didn't realize there's a "under-age" cost. I'm only 24. So I tried as you suggested with a 1st bid of $20 on a Full size car. A msg came up, saying "this will likely not be accepted since underage charges more...," I ignored it thinking it could be just a trap and of course I didn't get that. Then I stumpled across some guy's post on regarding some rental coupons with NO ADDITIONAL under-age fees, and I managed to find cheapest rental from National to be around $42.97 for a day.. I decided to try PL bidding again to see if it can beat National's price. I thought the bid price should be a bit lower than National's, otherwise what's the point. I tried $30 bid and total came up to $36.95 after PL's ridiculous service charge, and that didn't go through either. The conclusion is: I went with National and did not pay underage fees. I don't think I lost out because Priceline wouldn't have been able to offer it cheaper anyways. I just don't understand why rental prices on Mon, Mar 13 is so expensive, even for regular-age drivers. Cheapest I could find as in my earlier posts, was around $46/day. Thanks very much for your time and I luv this forum !! p.s. I was trying to post the link where I found the coupons for National but the forum posting didn't allow me to. Are we not encouraged to share coupon info? Jeff
  17. Hi thereuare, After I type in the search criteria at Priceline's initial screen, I was brought to another page with a table listing all the prices from the rental companies. Beneath the table, There's something like "Upgrade and Save when you name your own price" and it has some price links such as "Standard for $23/day, full size $23/day, Sport Utility $28, Mini Van $30/day... etc" And when I click on the links, I'm led to the "Name your Own Price" page where I can fill in the "Car Type" "Driver infO", "Flight info.. etc" One thing is that the actual place where I type in a price to bid is "Pre-filled" with $23.00. I suppose that's because I clicked on the $23/day link. Am I mistaken or is that just an ad and does not apply to my actual booking? In any case, I should be able to bid lower than the $45 found from regular fares right? Should I try bidding at $23? Thanks for your prompt response!! Jeff
  18. Hi all, I want to book an economy/compact car rental at Buffalo International Airport. I've done searches for the major car companies using Betterbidding car rental check tool, it seems that cheapest I can find is $45.95 and total (aft taxes) $52.27 at Enterprise. Checking Enterprise website using coupon code "trvx6m,
  19. Dear GM Mike, THanks very much for your swift response. I've spent a few hours this morning trying to look up some cheap flight from Mar 10-12, and guess what, I think the college student's spring break this week is creating a big vacuum that most are sold out or else I have to pay ridiculous amount of money for!! I think you're right that in my case it's probably not a good idea to bid on tickets since I need to have exact times of departures. Good Point!! I may very well have to travel change my plan to fly early next week, on Southwest for next Tuse, Mar 14, it's $55 one-way for a total of $149.70 !! It's almost funny how a few days makes a BIG difference!! Thanks very much for your help, I'll keep coming back for my future flights to this wondeful forum =) Jeff
  20. Dear GM Mike and powerplantop, THanks very much for your replies. Here I will provide a few more info. I mentioned that my travel dates will be Mar 8-12, but now it seems like I won't make it 'til at least Fri, Mar 10, so I'm hoping I"ll fly sometime between Mar 10-12. I'm looking for a same day flight hopefully. 1. I tried Hotwire but I guess it doesn't allow same day flights. Typically, will a two day flight be cheaper than one in same day? But in a two day flight I have to pay car rental and hotel stay too, so I 'm not sure which one will be cheaper. 2. It seems that Southwest are done on departure on same day flights on both Fri and Sat. So I tried departing Sat and back on Sun, comes to $309.70. Not too bad considering the last minute nature of my flight. 3. powerplantop: I think I'll need at least 5 hours in between flights to do my things. Is this the reason why I'm not finding good deals? I've searched on carrier's websites and often I'd see cheap deals if I come back from BUF before 3pm on Fri, but later then that the price just hikes up like crazy. 4. I'm newbie to this forum. But it seems to me most of the discussion is on bidding for hotels, is there a section somewhere on "bidding for air" that I did not see? It just seems quiet when it comes to airfare bidding. Thanks very much guys for all your responses. Jeff
  21. Hi there, I'm trying to book a last min flight in week of Mar 6-12. Normally from RDU-BUF costs $150 round trip but due to the last min nature, I was only able to find around $460. The date is likely to be Mar 8-12, departing early from RDU and if possible, returning same day from BUF in the evening. (late evening ok) Key is there should be sufficient time in between two flights so I can go about doing business. Does anyone have any good suggestions, I tried the major search engines but am wondering if I can find better deals. Jeff
