Got Haggis?

I first tried French Quarter only and they would not accept my price of $85/night. I slowly expanded the area to include Downtown and the Convention Center/Arts District - and then the price - and it was accepted at $90 for these dates.

Was originally using dates 11/7-11/10 for this: Started withthe following areas: Central Park South, Midown East, Midtown West, SoHo started at $140 - 3 1/2 - denied Expanded area to include the above areas and Empire State building area and central park south, upped bid to $150 - denied Expanded area to include Financial District - kept star level at 3 1/2 stars - upped bid to $155, denied Upped bid to $158, same areas and changed dates to 11/7-11/9 - bid accepted by the Sheraton NYC It is possible I could have gotten a better price had I started over with new dates.

I'm looking at similar dates and areas - 8-10th - so far I've gone down to 3 1/2 stars and $150 - no dice. edit: I am seeing 3 1/2 star on HotWire for $170 - hot RATE HOTEL Downtown - SoHo - Financial District area Guessing its Club Quarters maybe? Tried 3 1/2* $65, was denied. Upped it to $75 and downgraded to 3*, was accepted. Probably should have left it at 3 1/2* (Orbitz currently has this hotel for $89/night...so a bit better..but with a coupon brings it down to same exact price). I noticed it wasn't on the Anchorage Hotel list...

I have now tried up to $130 for 2 1/2 star - still rejected. I guess something must be going on this weekend - frustrating under PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals - it lists a 2* hotel for $78 a night in Marina - Lombard Street. Any ideas what place that is? Under the hotel list link on this site, I didn't see Marina - Lombard Street listed.

I've tried bidding up to $150 for a 4* Hotel in the following areas for the dates 4/20-4/23: Civic Center South Financial District Fisherman's Wharf Japan Town Marina - Lombard Street SOMA - Moscone Center Union Square East Union Square West - Nob Hill so far have been rejected up to $150 (about my limit) for 4* went down to 3 1/2 star with bed up to $130, also rejected went down to 3 star up to $120, also rejected any tips? Really only using the hotel as a base to spend the night at...don't plan on spending much time in it, that is why I have tried most area's that are at least somewhat convenient to tourist attractions (unsure if I am going to have a car at this point)

hello, I am new here. Just wanted to say that I also managed to get the Westin Embassy Row for $85. Only staying 1 night - March 10th. I got this price back at the end of Jan.
