  1. Is it normal for a 2 star hotel to put a $100 incidental hold (75+25)? I mean I only paid around $50 for one night stay at this hotel via Priceline. Also should the hotel give me a receipt for a Priceline booked room?
  2. Hi, thanks for your reply. I am looking to book Hotwire hot rate 4.5 stars (Lombard, Downers Grove) for Sept 13-14. My question is when I book for 3 people what are the bedding option that I will most likely get— - will I get 2 queen. (Will booking 4 people guarantee 2 queens?) - or 1 king with sofa bed/rollaway ?
  3. When booking for 3 guest in 1 room what will I most likely get:: 1)king bed with rollaway 2)2 double beds Will booking for 4 adults guarantee a room with 2 double beds?
  4. hello, yes this is a different itenerary. The May trip has been cancelled for now... thank you!!

  6. thanks Aaron, by the way where can we view the tripadvisor rating on the hotwire booking page?
  7. Hello, I was wondering if generally the Hotwire recommendation rating and the Tripadvisor rating will be similar or at least close to it. In other words could you use the Hotwire rating to match with Tripadvisor rating to guess the hotel you be getting? thx
  8. By the way could you explain to me how you are able to guess which hotel we are most likely to get? I know one step is that you compare the amenties to the probable hotels. How about the recommendation rating- , how is that used to decide which hotel we may get? Is the recommendation rating the same as the tripadvisor rating? Any other tips you would like to share? Thank you, I will inform you on what I ultimately decide.
  9. Yeah the rating for the 3 star is bad and I do not want to get Willowbrook Inn. For the two star Extended Stay would be nice but Red Roof Inn is not a place I would like to stay. I know its a gamble using Hot.wire but the main issue that concerns me is the low recommendation rating. I will let you know what I end up deciding. Once again I really appreciate your help... thx!!
  10. Yes I serached for Burr Ridge, IL, 3 adults for May 8- May 11. And I get following options: - 2 star $53/night--- 70% recommned - 3 star $84/night- 35% recommended

What worries me is the 3 star only has 35% recommendation and the 2 star has 70 % recommendation. Thx

  14. Hi, I am booking for 3 adults, yes you are correct it shows fewer amenities when booking for 2 adults. For 3.5 stars (3 adults) I still see the same amenities as listed above. :. I was thinking it could be Crowne or Embassy suites. I guess we can rule out other 3.5 stars like Doubltree, Hilton Oakbrook and Marriott because the amenities is not fully matching these hotels. They do not list 'pet friendly;. Which do you think is most likely? thx
  15. Ok sounds good, by the way could Westin be a possibility for the 4 star, did you go with Oak Brook Hills resort because of the "golf nearby"? Did you choose Crowne as the possible 3.5 star because of the "Pet Friendly amenties"?

  19. Hotel Incidental fee for priceline :: I am thinking about making a booking via Priceline for a 2.5 to 3 star hotel but wanted to clarify about incidental fee. I called the 3 star and they said they need a valid credit card where they will charge a certain fee per day for incidentals. When I asked him how much, he would not specify-- he said it depends on room type. I then called the 2.5 star and they said they will not charge my card for incidental but they require a copy of my credit card. Are these standard practices? I am hesitant on giving my credit card to the front desk for priceline bookings because I heard stories where people were charged again for the room by the hotel and then you have to go through the headache of disputing the charge. Also is it true that some hotels do not give a check out receipt for priceline customers, wouldn't you need some sort of proof that nothing additional was charged for the room? Thanks!!
