  1. Thank you. I suspect it is the Sheraton too. I was not planning on booking the 1*, it just seemed odd to me that they were so close in price despite being so far apart in stars. I was wondering if it could be a mistake since the amenities seemed to match up with the Magnolia and the price seemed more appropriate for the Magnolia. And you were correct. I had not put in the number of people. I figured we could deal with a king (with rollaway) or a double. In any event, since I would not be happy with the Sheraton, I will book somewhere else where we can be sure of getting what we need. Thank you for all your help. I appreciate it!
  2. I added reply to my Boston thread (we booked on our own for that trip to make sure we'd have adjoining rooms--didn't want to risk getting 2 rooms that might be separated). For this room in Dallas (local for us), it will be me & my 2 daughters. We only need one room. Either a king with rollaway or two queens. Thank you
  3. We ended up booking on our own through hotel Revere to ensure that we would have adjoining rooms.
  4. This seems strange to me. There are only 2 hot wire hotels listed for my dates in downtown Dallas. One is a 4* and one is a 1*, but the difference in price is $95 for 4* and $92 for 1*. The price crossed out is not much different either $163 v. $159. Here are amenities: 4* $95/$163crossed out Pet friendly Smoke free Fitness Pool(s) Restaurant Business center Self service laundry Internet access Golf nearby 85% recommended 4 out of 5 on TA 1* $92/$159 crossed out Free breakfast Free internet Pet friendly Boutique Fitness Restaurant Business center Assessible for visually impaired "Still gathering reviews" Just wondering why 4* & 1* would be almost same price. Also, haven't seen any 1* listed on Hotwire list Any help appreciated
  5. Well, based on everything I could tell, it was the Times Square Intercontinental, and I was hoping someone else could confirm that and you did--thank you! In the end, we decided it wasn't worth it to take a chance with getting 2 rooms that don't connect or are even on different floors. I know many times the hotel will work with you on those things, but sometimes they just don't have the availability. Also, we were concerned that getting these might give us the least desirable rooms available--no view, low floors, noisy, by the elevator, etc. We are a family of 5 and we can't/won't stuff all of us into one uncomfortable room--most hotels have a 4 person/room rule anyway, which is why we were hoping to get two rooms at a reasonable price and hoped that we could at least get them adjoining. The only other option for us is a suite, which is ideal, but usually a lot pricier. We found a 20% off suite deal at the One UN and ended up with a 2 bedroom suite at a fairly reasonable price (for Manhattan anyway)--it was still $300/night more than the two rooms, HOTWIRE deeply discounted rate, but it is worth it to us to make sure that we are together as a family and not in two separate, non-adjoining rooms for our "family" vacation. Thank you for all the help. I will definitely use your site/links to Hotwire in the future when our travel conditions allow. It's a great and very helpful site!

  7. Thank you for your help. I looked at the Fairmont Battery Wharf site and the best available room rate for a standard double (which is what we'd likely get)is $269 and that can be canceled until July 13, so I'm not sure if the rate is such a great deal (it is $40 off, but with less flexibility). I'll think on it and watch to see if price moves down. Also, thanks for pointing out the no pool thing. I'm traveling with my kids and I'm sure a pool would be welcomed. Also, I put in 2 adults and 2 children in each room, but, in actuality, we are a family of 5--2 adults, 3 children. What we want is 2 adjoining rooms. Ideally with one king adjoining to a room with 2 doubles. I know that I can't guarantee that, so I need to make sure that at the minimum we have 2 double rooms. Is that ever a problem when you don't really have as many people as you indicated? Thanks again!
