  2. Room was nice. Had microwave and mini-fridge, flat-screen LCD TV, Sleep-number beds and free-wifi. Looked like a fairly new property.

  7. I'm looking to bid in San Antonio, and was going for one of the two resorts in the San Antonio West zone. Since (I believe) this is the only zone in San Antonio with resorts, are all other zones fair game for free re-bids? I see resorts are now listed on the bottom on the star category list.
  8. Was just lowballing a bid on Priceline and my bid of $140 + Tax ($189.50 total) was accepted. Itinerary through AA: Leave BMI at 9a, 50 minute connection in ORD. Arrive SAT at 1:30p. Returning, leave SAT at 2:25 and arrive back in BMI via ORD at 6:30p. Cheapest flights I could find online were $220, so I'm more than thrilled. Perfect flight times as well.
  9. This was a last-minute trip, bid the morning-of. After a few unsuccessful tries, my final bid was $50 for a 3.5* encompassing the Downtown, Airport, and Dearborn zones. Bid was accepted and upgraded to the 4* Hyatt Regency (next to the Fairlane Mall) in Dearborn. Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $50.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $50.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $13.94 (USD) Total Room Cost: $63.94 (USD) Huge hotel, impeccable public areas. The room was nothing to write home about, but clean.
  10. Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $75.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 3 Room Subtotal: $225.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $32.80 (USD) Total Room Cost: $257.80 (USD) Tack on another $46 or so for resort fees ($15/day + tax). This gets you bottled water, newspaper, access to pool/fitness center, and I believe parking. Room (studio suite) was excellent, very luxurious. Happy hour at the bar in the lobby is a bargain; can get a couple cocktails for under $10. Excellent hotel to stay if you want something elegant, uncrowded, and quiet (no casino).
  11. Sheraton Chicago Northwest 3400 West Euclid Arlington Heights, IL 60005 Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $35.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $35.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $11.41 (USD) Total Room Cost: $46.41 (USD) Can't quite understand why this is lumped in the Schaumburg zone.
  12. The Wyndham Milwaukee Airport And Convention Center Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $36.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $36.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $12.24 (USD) Total Room Cost: $48.24 (USD)
  13. Started at the often accepted $44 for this level and zone, but was rejected. Eventually got the 2.5* Amerisuites for $52. Hotel is currently being renovated into the Hyatt Place concept.
  14. Started bidding 2.5* in the south zone (airport) from around $30 all the way to $43. Received several counteroffers of around $52-$54, but didn't bite. Bid 2.5* at $44 and was accepted + upgraded to the 3* Wyndham. I believe this is the former Grand Milwaukee Hotel. Wyndham Milwaukee South Milwaukee 4747 South Howell Avenue Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53207 Your Offer Price : $44.00 Subtotal: $132.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $27.71 Total Charges*: $159.71
  15. After staying here, a few thoughts: Great location, a few hundred yards off of I-44, walking distance to a lot of dining (though mostly chains, ugh) and a Sam's Club. Hotel lobby and atrium were pretty nice. Room was clean, but definitely a bit dated. The beds can't compare to a lot of the new-and-improved beds at other chains. Bathroom needed a total renovation. The free-high speed internet was nice (if not a little slow). No free breakfast here, though. I really didn't think this was 3* quality, and you'd likely be better off with a 2.5* in this zone, especially if you can get it for a lower price.
  16. Check-In Date: Wed, Jan 9, 2008 Check-Out Date: Thu, Jan 10, 2008 Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $36.00 Subtotal: $36.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $11.56 Total Charges*: $47.56 Was surprised to get the 3* for $36.....
  17. Wow, surprising this property is a 3* and not a 4* after being renovated into a Renaissance.
  18. It's also a 2* on PL, Sterling zone. I've paid $38 and $34 through PL for this property (weekend stays), which I highly recommend as well.
  19. Went through the link on Savingsbarn. Very happy to get this hotel again, it is a great place. Hampton Inn Dulles/Cascades 2-star Sterling 46331 Mcclellan Way Sterling, Virginia 20165 703-450-9595 Your Offer Price: $38.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 3 Subtotal: $114.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $19.97 Total Charges*: $133.97
  20. Indeed it is. It had zero availability when I checked earlier, weird...
  21. Travelocity"]Travelocity does show availability for the Hampton Inn in the Arena District for $118. The location is perfect for getting around the downtown bars and the Short North.
  22. It'll be the game of the year, that's for sure. O rbitz is baiting people with a $118 rate at the Hampton Inn in the Arena District, but as you go to 'continue booking' it changes to NO ROOMS AVAILABLE. The Hyatt (convention center) has a $239 rate. And aside from the Hyatt Capitol Square, the Renaissance, and the Doubletree with $309, $299, and $350 rates respectively, everything is listed as sold out. I would call the individual properties; in my experience with NASCAR races, hotels will be listed with no availability, but they do still have rooms available if you call. It can't hurt to throw out a Priceline bid every day, though you probably won't have success. http://downtowncolumbus.com/do/directories...y=15&menu=5 As far as Worthington, it's no closer to the stadium than the airport hotels.
  23. Thanks. Yeah, it does appear there is a HI Express in Herdon, which would be included in this zone but does not have a pool. There is an older Hampton Inn near Dulles in addition to the Sterling one which also matches, so I don't know if I want to chance that.
  24. $40/night for 10/20 - 10/23 in the 2.5* Reston/IAD-North/Sterling zone Has the following amenities: Free breakfast, Fitness Center, Business Center, Laundry, Pool, Golf Nearby Matches the Hampton Inn Dulles Cascades to a T, and is a fine hotel. Any other ideas?
