  1. Hi guys! Thanks for all your help. I ended up taking the Hotwire offer (always using the links provided here :)). It turned out to be the Vdara as we expected. I think I got a good deal, 114/night. I bid up to 110 in Priceline before and had no luck! Now on to San Diego! :)
  2. I figured out that the one in Strip North has to be the Trump, since it has kitchenette. Still puzzled over the one in Strip South. The Vdara most likely...
  3. I'm sorry for opening another post in the HOTWIRE session. I thought since I was asking about Hotwire now, I should do it over there. I've increased my budget since 2 days ago because last night I bid up to $110 for a 5* and up to $95 for a 4* and got nothing on PRICELINE. I bid on Strip North, Strip Vicinity North and Strip Vicinity South. So, being frustated as I was, I go in and check HOTWIRE using BiddingHelper.com. And there I see (and still do) a 5* in The Strip South area for $114/night. Only 4 more dollars than the 110 that I bid in PRICELINE.I also saw the 4* in HOTWIRE, but pricer are very close to the 5*, so I thought to go for a 5* directly. The full amenities (from bidding helper Hotwire easy view) include: Free Parking, Free Internet, Suite, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access, Golf Nearby, Spa Services, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower Another useful info would be that they charge a 25 resort fee, 90% recommended, 4 1/2 in every score, 4 1/2 in tripadvisor. BTW, I'm now also seeing a 5* hotel for 118/night in The Strip North Area. Full amenities are: Free Parking, Free Internet, Spa Services, Resort, Pet friendly, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby, Kitchenette 90% recommended, $25 resort fee, 4.5 score on everything (incluiding tripadvisor). What do you think both this hotels are? do you need any other info?
  4. Here's the HOTWIRE rate I'm seeing. Dates are Apr. 8 to Apr. 14. 5* at The Strip South, 114/night, 90% recommended, $25 resort fee, 4.5 in every score, 4.5 out of 5 in trip advisor. Full amenities from bidding helper: Free Parking, Free Internet, Suite, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access, Golf Nearby, Spa Services, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower Vdara? Venetian? any help will be greatly appreciated!
  5. More help to ID another hotel please! It's a 4* located in Strip North. 75% recommended, charges 19,95 as a "resort fee", full amenities from BiddingHelper.com are: Free Parking, Free Internet, Casino, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access, Golf Nearby, Spa Services, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking, Roll-in shower It could be either Treasure Island or The Mirage....and I'm really hoping is The Mirage. What do you guys think?
  6. Hi guys. I've tried with 4.5 and 5 stars with bids up to 90 dollars on both strip north and south and no luck yet. I see now an offer in Hotwire for a 5* for 116/night for the dates I'm travelling and I would need help from you to ID them. The amenities listed in BiddingHelper.com are: Free Parking, Free Internet, Suite, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access, Golf Nearby, Spa Services, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower It also says 90% recommended and that the hotel charges a $25 fee resort fee. My guesses are either the Vdara or the Four Seasons. What do you think? I'll be eagerly waiting for your answers! :)
  7. If you think 5* isn't doable for $80, I would go 4*. The zones I was thinking of were: - Las Vegas Strip North - Las Vegas Strip Vicinity South - Las Vegas Strip Vicinity North I think there's a couple of very nice 4* properties there.
  8. Hi guys! I'll be staying in Las Vegas from Apr. 8 to Apr. 14. We need 2 rooms and we were hopping to get a 4* or 5*. Our budget is around $80/night and we would like to get something close to the stript. Do you think this is achievable? or am I asking too much? :) Thanks in advance for all your advice!
  9. Ok guys, I ended up buying the offer thru Priceline Express. I paid $119/night and it turned out to be the Element Hotel. Looks great, well placed in Midtown (as you guys recommended), breakfast and internet included. I'm very happy with the purchase. The amenities listed where the ones I added yesterday. I purchased it thru bidding helper. Thank you again for your help on getting a good deal at a good place! Next step is Las Vegas, so you can expect more clicks from me ;)
  10. There's also one 3.5* at PRICELINE EXPRESS deals page in the same area, difference is that the price here is 119! I thinks it's the same hotel being offered... The amenities listed in PRICELINE EXPRESS are: Free Breakfast Free Internet Pets Allowed Business Center Fitness Center
  11. Hi again! I didn't know of this BiddingHelper.com tool, it's great! So, I did what you said, here's the full list of amenities: Free Breakfast, Free Internet, Pet friendly, Fitness Center, Business Center, Self service laundry, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, In-room accessibility, Wheelchair accessible, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower The price is now 130...it looks like it jumps up and down each time I search. What does this look like? Thanks!
  12. Awesome guys! I've been trying but no luck yet. However, I just checked in Hotwire for the dates I'll be in NYC (Apr. 3 to Apr. 8) and something interesting came up: $128/night for a 3.5* in Times Square/Hells Kitchen area. What do you think? Should I go for it? The amenities it list are: - Free Breakfast - Free Internet - Self Laudry - Pet Friendly - Fitness Center - Business Center - Accessible for the blind, deaf and in-room accessibility For what it says, it looks like it could be the Element or Staybridge suites, do you agree? If so, I think it's a good price/zone. Would you recommend that I bid in Priceline or that I shouldn't let this Hotwire offer slip?
  13. Wow, that's a great strategy. I will try it later today! Now, about CPS area, can in include it when bidding for 4*? or is it the Hudson a 4* hotel? If the Hudson is 3.5*, then I can add CPS when bidding for 4* and then remove the zone when bidding for 3.5*. Thanks again guys!
  14. Hi again! I would say to try to get a 4* first and if we get no success, go for a 3.5*. About CPS, I'm not sure how many stars the Hudson has (4*? 3.5*?). I would say leave that zone out when bidding at the star level that hotel is in. We thought about it and while wonderfully located, the rooms seems to small for our friends and their infant daughter. How is that this other guy got a 3.5* room for 100 bucks? Lucky him! Anyway, thanks again, I'll be waiting for your answer! Oh, and I click the links each time I get in here :).
  15. Ok, you definitely convinced me. I would then say that it would be better if we can get something in Midtown, but up to 130/night. If it's not at all possible, then I could include Downtown. What would be your bidding strategy? At what price should I start? Thanks again guys!
  16. Hi again! Small rooms are not a huge concer with us, but we are also travelling with another couple, and they have an infant with them (less than 2 years old), so that could prove a problem if they can't fit a pack'n play or something similar. If you think the Hudson rooms would acomodate 2 adults + 1 infant, that would be ok with us. Now, if you were to ask me, I would choose budget over location...but not so far. I mean, from my understanding, it's fairly easy to move around on subway and we are young couples who don't mind walking all day. That being said, I have no idea of how big distances are in NYC, but my guess is that anywhere in the areas I previously listed (minus UES and UWS, as per your recomendation) would work for us. So I would choose "include this zone from the onset and win there if it is the least expensive of all your zones". Please feel free to tell me what you think. Thanks again for all your help!
  17. Hi thereuare! Thank you for your answer. I didn't realize that UWS or UES would be a little too far north for the average visitor. That's a great piece of advice you gave me right there. I can take both of them out. I will be in the city just for tourism so I want to be as close to the "tourist" part of town as possible. My ideal scenario would be to be able to get at least a 3.5 * hotel in a "tourist" area (the ones I listed minus UES and UWS as you recommended), for around 100-106 per night. Of course, ideal is not always realistic and that's why I'm asking for advice :). I think the higher I can go would be 130. What do you think? Thanks again for all your help!
  18. Oh, I forgot to mention that I'm actually ok with any area as long as it is within Manhattan. I make my bids for all this areas: - Central Park South - Chelsea Area - Downtown - Financial Distric - Empire State Building Area - Hell's Kitchen - Madison Square Garden - Convention Area - Midtown East - Midtown West - SoHo - Tribeca - Times Square - Theatre District - Upper East Side - Upper West Side Any tips or suggestios are always appretiated!
  19. Hi Aaron, thanks for your reply! Really helpful stuff. Yes, I'm actually seeing a price of 131/night in Hotwire for a 3* (not 3.5) in the Empire State area. Since it says it's pet friendly and based on the Hotel List, I would venture to say it's The Mave hotel. Is that actually a good deal considering it's a 3*? or you think I could get a 3.5* bidding that rate in PRICELINE? Is there really a big difference between 3, 3.5 and 4 * hotels? Thanks again for your opinion!
  20. Hi guys! I'll be in New York from Apr. 3rd to Apr. 8. It's my first time visiting the city, (I'm flying from Argentina) and I'm trying to get the best available rate. I'm actually looking for a 3.5 or above Hotel anywhere in Manhattan. I've been trying for some time (maybe a month) with bids that go from 90 to 106 dollars. I haven't had any luck yet. I know I'm bidding early and that I had time to keep trying, but my first question is: Do you think that it's even possible, for those dates and that area, that I would be able to get an 3.5 or above hotel for that price? or am I aiming waaaaay too low? I know there's not certain way you can tell me that, but your opinions will be appreciated. Second question would be...I'm seeing in Hotwire there's an Hotel in the Empire State area for 136/night for the dates I'm travelling. Do you think it's a good price? Should I go with that or wait a bit more? should I bid a little lower than that for 3* hotels in the same area using Priceline? Again, I know this is not exact science, just opinions, but since I have no experience whatsoever in New York bidding, rates, etc, I could use your advice. Thanks for the help and for this page! I always use the Priceline and HOTWIRE link ;).
  21. Not a bargain price, but hey, much better than what they are offering in their webpage!
  22. Thanks Aaron! I will try some more bids today. Of course I will use the links and inform you what I end up getting. Take care!
  23. Yes, I thought it might be the Royal Palm. What's your opinion on timing? Should I try to get a deal asap? Or would it be wiser to wait a few more days to see if prices drop?
  24. Sorry, my bad. It's actually a 4* level. About the Pelican Hotel, I got into trip advisor and read the reviews and saw pictures the travelers uploaded...I'm sure it's a nice place to stay, but I really didn't like the style, the rooms, the bathrooms, the decoration. I found it hideous! hahaha :). It's just a matter of personal taste, I'm sure it must be an excelent hotel, but I really don't like it's style. I'll be waiting for you advice, thanks for answering!
  25. Hi! I'm currently looking at some hotel offerings on Hotwire. The dates I entered are Jun-20 to Jun-23. The areas I selected are South Beach Ocean Drive and South Beach Collins Ocean Front. There's a $146 (originally $225) hotel in South Beach - Ocean Drive area recommended by 85%. The amenities listed are: Free Internet Pet friendly Boutique Hotel Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Roll-in shower I'm a little worried that it ends up being The Pelican since I really didn't like it on the website. The other one I'm interested in (although more expensive)it's a $222 per night (originally $346) 4 1/2 stars hotel in South Beach - Oceanfront Collins area, recommended by 100%. The amenities for this hotel are: Suite Beachfront Property Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) High-Speed Internet Access Spa Services Accessible for the blind Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible Accessible bathroom Roll-in shower Maybe the James? What's is your best guess? Also, at this point and being that I will be staying in the previously mentioned dates (Jun 20 to Jun 23), what would you recommend? Bid/Buy something now, or wait till closer to the date, as prices might drop? I don't even know if it's high or low season in Miami! Thanks in advance for all your help!
