  1. I have stayed at the Amerisuites on the Riverwalk before and the parking was free plus free hot breakfast. While the hotel is not located directly in the middle of the restaurants on the Riverwalk, a portion of the river does run past the hotel. It is an easy 5 - 10 minute walk to the heart of the fun. From the Amerisuites website regarding this location: "Located on the serene San Antonio River, just a few minutes walk from the famous Riverwalk entertainment district. AmeriSuites San Antonio Riverwalk is a leading select service hotel offering great rates, attractively designed accommodations, upscale amenities, and a welcoming atmosphere with all the comforts of home. Whether traveling for business or pleasure, you`ll enjoy our spacious guestrooms with in-room microwave and refrigerator, separate workspace and free high-speed Wi-Fi Internet access. Plus, free hot breakfast buffet, on-site meeting rooms, 24-hour fitness center, outdoor heated swimming pool, and free parking. The hotel is located within a downtown metroplex of government and commercial offices and is within easy walking distance of the Riverwalk, the San Antonio Convention Center, The Alamo, restaurants, and shopping." I'm sure there is a link on the support page that you could use to book if you are interested. Oh, and the rooms were what you would expect (clean) and have a sitting room w/ sofa bed which is nice.

  3. Bump to thereuare......add to your Priceline hotels list since this is a new one.
  4. Since there are only 2 rebid zones in the 3* level, I started at $75 and was rejected. Added rebid zone and bid $85, rejected. Added last zone and $95, accepted. Howire did have a 3.5* in the DT zone for $107 so I used this as my basis. Thanks.
  5. After 4 days of trying for a 4* with no luck and bids up to $140, I decided to try for a 3* and won! Radisson Warwick Philadelphia Downtown Philadelphia 1701 Locust Street Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19103 215 735-6000 Check-In Date: Tuesday, May 23, 2006 Check-Out Date: Wednesday, May 24, 2006 Your Offer Price: $95.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $95.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $21.34 Total Charges: $116.34 Lowest published rate was $199/night ($233 w/ tax). Over 50% off! I was offered to extend my stay. Appears to be a new one for your list! I'm a happy camper (I was scared I was going to get the Wyndam which has terrible reviews). Thanks for all your help and I did use savingsbarn.com.
  6. Just gave it a try. No luck but only tried up to $100 for now. I want to try more until I give in to the higher rate. Question - the link you provided to the Crown Plaza below, it was for easyclicktravel.com. I am not familiar w/ their "Off the Record" prices. Are they like priceline.com? Do you bid opaquely and then your credit card is charged? Or is the room cancelable? Thanks.
  7. Looking for some advice on at what price I should begin bidding for the following stay: Philadelphia Downtown Zone May 23rd 1 night 2 adults Prefer 4* Would like to spend ~$125 or so, is this reasonable? I checked hotwire.com and they did have a 4* in the historic district for $204 (restuarant, fitness center, pool, business center) which I would guess is the Hyatt. Maybe too close to Memorial Day Weekend for a good deal? If I was to reduce * preference to 3*, what price would you think for this? Thanks for all the help! Great website!
  8. Thanks for all of the help! We will also be in Philadelphia for the first few days so I'll probably be using priceline....
  9. P.S. Thanks for updating the header line, but my winning bid was $200. Also, any clue why teh Intercontinental The Barclay has had so many winning bids lately?

  12. Is something going on in NYC 5/20 - 5/23? Or is it just prime tourist season? GEEZ..... Tried again. No luck at 4* up to $175. Even tried 3* up to $125. No luck. Will have hubby try tonite. If no success, again tomorrow. I may just have to anti up...

  15. Would like some advice on bidding.... Details: Dates: 5/20 - 5/23 (3 nights) Desired Locations: MTE, MTW, UM/CPS 1 Room, 2 adults Perfer 4*+ Max bid ~ $150 - 175/night Am aware of rebidding I have reviewed "WHALAW's" post from 2/12 and your response. Do you recommend the same strategy for my dates? One question on your advice to WHALAW, why did you not suggest adding Upper West Side (which only has 2 & 2.5 *'s) or Upper East Side (only has 3 & 2 *'s) to get in two more bid in per zone? If 4* is unsuccessful, willing to try again a 3*.
