  1. I'm trying to find accommodations for the Champ Car race. Last night Hotwire had a 4* for $93, but it's up again today. Thanks for the warning re. the 3* in Montreal.
  2. Wow, great price! I thought I did well getting it for $74! :) We just checked out of there yesterday; not a bad hotel at all and in a pretty handy location.
  3. Turned out to be the Crowne Plaza, 101 Rue Lyon. Dates May 20-22. Pool, fitness centre, business centre, high-speed internet (that didn't work, but they didn't charge us for it), restaurant. Very good value. Love that Hotwire. :)
  4. I'm not aware that I was upgraded?? As I said, I was trying for the 2.5* but wasn't getting anywhere and I wasn't willing to go to a 2* in case I got the nasty Quality Inn. :) I tried Montreal downtown and Brossard 3* and was thrilled to get the counter-offer. Sure looks like a gorgeous hotel...
  5. Got the Marriott Chateau Champlain for $85 for August 27-29 (Molson Indy!) I had been trying for the 2.5*, but couldn't seem to nail it and had no date/location options left, so went right back and re-tried for the 3*. I bid $68 and got a message back that if I was willing to pay $17 more, the room was mine. Does that happen often?? :) I was pretty thrilled, anyway. This my first experience with Priceline--I've used Hotwire 2x before but it was too rich for my blood this time around. :)
  6. 2.5* $44/night is the Doubletree Tampa-Westshore Airport for night of Oct. 17-18. Amenities: Shuttle, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Business Woohoo! :) Christine
  7. :) Wow, thanks for the bidding strategy! To clarify, the airport shuttle is a must (to save on cab fares) but the cruise shuttle isn't--it would be a treat, though. :) I'm still torn btw trying Priceline or going for the $44 2.5* on Hotwire... Thanks for all your help. :o Christine
  8. I just need a room for one night, Oct. 17. I would like a room in either the airport or downtown area with an airport shuttle and a cruise terminal shuttle would be nice, but not a requirement. How do I go about getting a nice (ie. clean :) ) room for very little $$$? Would I want 3* minimum? Thanks! Christine
  9. :) Duh! Sorry, it would be for the night of October 17th. Christine
  10. Forgive me if I mess up somehow; this is my first post here. I need a Tampa hotel for one night. An airport shuttle is a must and a cruise terminal shuttle would be nice. I found a 2.5* hotel for $44. Ameneties are: shuttle, restaurant, business centre, pool, and fitness centre. The area is Westshore/Tampa Int'l Airport. Any ideas as to what this might be? Thanks for any assistance! Christine
