  1. Just wanted to update, haven't chosen a hotel yet. Exploring options as of now because some of my friends want to consider an apartment rental.
  2. Still searching around and had a question. So looking on PRICELINE EXPRESS, I think I've come up with the Hudson in Central Park South. The options for bed are: per night Room Assigned At Check-in - Sleeps Two Adults per night Room Assigned At Check-in - Sleeps Two Adults - 1 Bed Requested. If I chose the first one, what are the chances I could request two beds (Or even one bed and a sofa or something).
  3. For the 3.5* in the MSG-Hell's Kitchen area the list is as follows: FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Golf nearby, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower As for the 3* in Midtown Central, it is as follow: FULL AMENITIES: Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access
  4. I am searching for 1 room, 4 adults/0 children. The 3.5* is $198, has a 75% recommended rate and the 3* is $189 with a 70% recommended rate.
  5. Haha that is definitely true and fair enough! I'm hoping to start travelling more often so hopefully I will definitely be posting more wins! :) I decided against priceline and am looking at hotwire now. There's a few I'm currently looking at.. A 3.5* in the MSG-Hell's Kitchen Area with SMoke-Free, Fitness Center, Restaurant, Business Center and Golf Nearby and 3* Midtown Central with Restaurant, Business Center and Internet Access Any help IDing them would be great :)
  6. Those were spur of the moment bookings from my phone, definitely did not think of posting them. Will from now on! I'm going to try to use priceline express some more. Will look through listings after work and go from there!
  7. What are the pros vs cons of Hot.wire vs PRICELINE EXPRESS? I've never actually used hotwire so I'm not too sure, although I have had good luck with Priceline express. I'll take a look into them both in a bit more depth tonight and decide which direction to take.
  8. After a few unsuccessful tries, we ended up switching our destination. We ended up going to Anaheim with a winning bid of $91/night for the Anaheim Marriott 4*. Our travel dates were 06/18/14-06/20/14. Not sure if I should post a new thread and report this old win or not!
  9. Oops I forgot to reply to that thread I will do that now. There's going to be four of us, but we will be looking to just get one room as it's two couples.
  10. So I'm getting started booking my vacation with some friends and am looking to get a 3.5* or higher. The zones we're most interested in, in order of preference, are the following: Times Square Midtown West Midtown East Empire State Building Area MSG Area Chelsea Area We're trying to keep it under 200. Any bidding strategy would be helpful! Thanks in advanced!
  11. I apologize for the vague post, I just received a few good areas from my friend to look at but yes those zones are good! And yes the least expensive in those zones is the goal, trying to keep it around $80 but willing to pay up to $100 if bidding around $80 doesn't pan out. Thanks for the help!
  12. Preference for place as follows: La Jolla Carlsbad Coronado Mission Bay Pacific Beach Preferably no lower than a 3.5 star… and trying to be real cheap haha although last second so might not be possible. If around $80 it would be great Thanks!
  13. After a few days of failing I decided to move onto a new area Disneyland - Anaheim Convention Center - Garden Grove *star Anaheim Marriott for 95/night I started at 65 and increased it slowly, but made a jump from 85 to 95 so might have been able to get it a bit cheaper but got impatient, overall I'm pleased though!
  14. Irvine - Santa Ana is the preference, then next is Santa Ana. I would like to try to get a 4* up to $120 before trying a 3*. Thanks for all the help - this trip was definitely thrown together quickly lol
  15. Yes they are the new dates, thank you for the merge thereuare. I've asked her what area she wants to stay in and if there is anything she wants to see specifically and was only told that as long as it's a 3.5-4 star hotel she's happy with more or less any area as the plan is the rent a car. I think the Irvine - Santa Ana area would be a great spot to look
  16. Looking to stay in the OC area (not 100% sure where) on August 12-15. Looking to mostly do shopping and sight seeing. Thanks in advanced!
  17. So my mother would like me to plan a trip to one of these three... August 14-18. Which would be best? Thanks in advance!
  18. It definitely suited my needs perfectly! My girlfriend and I were just looking to get away and aren't too big on the whole nightlife scene so this was a double win. I looked into the hotel and heard a lot about how nice it is and how you should visit even if you weren't staying there so definitely very very pleased. When the time gets closer I'm sure I'll eventually have questions and will definitely post again when the time comes. :)
  19. Thanks for the advice! I looked into this weekend and was indeed able to get a nice deal. $81/n for Palmer House! I'll post my win up now :) I started bidding on NMA started at 70, going as high as 93 and did not get a deal so I tried again with loop Started at 75 and was able to get this on my third shot ($3 increments). Thanks Aaron for the advice! Definitely looking forward to this trip more now that my costs have been cut down a lot (was looking at a regular hotel, down further south at around $140 earlier). Glad I found this forum!
  20. Hey there I'm looking to head to Chicago for 4 nights and have the option to do so really anywhere from the end of May until the end of July. My only restriction is that it must be a Wednesday-Sunday trip. Just looking as to what weekend would be my cheapest bet. I am from Canada so I don't know too much about the pricing there. Also the goal is to stay in a 4-star somewhere downtown hopefully keeping the cost of hotel to <120/night. Thanks in advance!
