  1. Got it. I thought I was supposed to update only if I booked a hotel and discovered the identity. I'll update no matter the result moving forward. As for this trip, I ended up going with another option. I would have been interested in the Grand InterContinental Seoul Hotel but not the regular Intercontinental Seoul Coex because the latter is pretty dated and is in need of a dire renovation. This is for an upcoming bachelor party so we wanted a nicer hotel if possible. Thanks for all the help.
  2. I did not end up using Hotwire during my trips in Chicago and Vancouver so I did not update the prior threads back then but I've updated them now. I'm on the verge of purchasing another hotel using another site in the Gangnam area since it appears the Seoul Hotwire activity on this site remains pretty low. However, if anyone has any input, that would be appreciated.
  3. I did not purchase a hotel in Vancouver using Hotwire so I cannot confirm or verify the id of the any hotels listed in this thead.
  4. We did not end up getting a room so the identity of the hotel is still unknown.
  5. Looking to see if anyone has any idea about the identities of these two hotels: City: Seoul, Korea Zone: Gangnam Area Travel Dates: 03/24/2016 - 03/27/2016 1) 5 Star Hotel (75% Recommended - The hint was the last person who bid on this got the Palace Hotel.) - $96 per night Amenities: - Fitness Center - Restaurant(s) - Business Center - Internet Access 2) 4.5 Star Hotel (90% Recommended) - $117 per night Amenities: - Free parking - Indoor pool(s) - Pool(s) - Restaurant(s) - Business Center - Internet Access - In-room accessibility, - Wheelchair accessible Any thoughts on these two hotels?
  6. I used the Better BiddingHelper.com link before but I had to click "book now" to show the complete listing. The same hotel is listed at $164 per night. The complete amenities are as follows: Free Internet Pet friendly Boutique hotel Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Self-service laundry Internet access Spa services Accessible for visually impaired Accessible for hearing impaired Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Accessible parking Roll-in shower Any ideas?
  7. Can anyone shed some light as to what the identity of this hotel may be? I initially thought it was the Four Seasons Hotel but the "boutique" feature threw me off. Also, I saw another listing that looks like Pan Pacific at $156 per night so I know this hotel isn't the Pan Pacific. Dates: 10/23/2015 - 10/26/2015 Price: $182 / night Amenities: Boutique hotel, Business center, Pet friendly, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Self-service laundry, Spa services Complimentary: Free Internet Tripadvisor: 4.5 out of 5 Hotwire Customer Reviews: 100% Any clue as to what hotel this could be?
  8. I was 90% sure this was the hotel I was going to win using this board thanks to AaronJB with his response of the recent post here: Hotwire San Francisco hotel thread. The list of full amentities of the hotel are: (95% Recommended) Free Internet Fitness center Restaurant(s) Business center Internet access Accessible for visually impaired Accessible for hearing impaired Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Accessible parking Roll-in shower Thanks again all and a friendly reminder for all to use the links on this site when you use HOTWIRE or PRICELINE. This site rocks!
  9. I used this forum to book a room for my girlfriend and I last week. I'm now using it to book another room for a friend of mine. My friends need to have a pet friendly hotel, hopefully one that doesn't charge an extra fee like the $50 non-refundable fee the Palmer House charges. I could not identify this hotel on the forum's Hotwire Hotel List: Magnificent Mile Area - River North area hotel - $112 / night 90% HW Customer Recommended Amenities: Pet friendly Indoor pool(s) Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access
  10. I'm starting research on the restaurants I want to try during my trip. Obviously, Alinea is one name that comes to mind but the friend I'm visiting has already been there said he wasn't impressed with their tasting. So we're also thinking of Graham Elliot, L20, and Tru. I believe someone in the group also wanted to try Sun Wah. Is there any not to be missed restaurant and if so, do you know which dishes should be ordered? Thanks again for all the help.
  11. thereuare, I forgot to thank you as well. You were the first to respond. This must be listed somewhere on the FAQ but when I edited the thread to report the win, even though I selected PL in the details, my response showed up in the HW section since that is where the thread started. Now it's in the appropriate section. How would I move it into the appropriate section? Thanks again for the help.
  12. After looking around, I was willing to choose the Palmer on HOTWIRE for $85 a night even though it was older and wasn't in my ideal location. Before booking it though, I tried my luck one last time on PRICELINE using the 4* min, North Michigan Ave - River North Area. I ended up winning Hotel Felix for $100 a night! I just replied to you AaronJB saying I wanted something more urban chic and this hotel definitely fits the bill. I read reviews saying the rooms are really small but I'm willing to go smaller for a more convenient location. This forum rocks and AaronJB, thanks for being so responsive. You're a true rockstar bud.
  13. AaronJB - Yeah, I'm looking for more of a newer hotel, something more urban chic than old traditional. It can be boutique like the Ivy or something recently renovated like the Raffaelo. I'd say Sofitel would be best for the location but I don't want to pay an arm and a leg since I'd rather be spending money on food and tasting menus.
  14. I'm still trying to lock down a good deal for my trip. Last night I used PriceLine's Bidding for $106 in the North Michigan Avenue for a 4* minimum property but not luck. I will probably increase my max bid to $120 tonight but I'm still looking at Hotwire and found these two properties today. I looked on the forum but could not find any matches. These hotels aren't in my ideal area but they are pretty cheap rates. 1) Downtown Chicago - Millennium Park - Grant Park area - $108 / night 90% HW Recommended Amenities: Pet friendly Indoor pool(s) Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower 2) Chicago Loop - Theater District Area Hotel - $87 / night 90% HW Recommended Amenities: Pet friendly Indoor pool(s) Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Spa Services Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel Accessible path from the room entrance to the window, the bed and the bathroom; accessible hardware and minimal Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower
  15. Thanks AaronJB, I hadn't even thought about considering the GC zone. I saw the deal you mentioned. Do you happen to know what that hotel might be? 4-star Hotel in Chicago Gold Coast - Lake Shore Drive - $94 -$178 other sites -1.0 - 1.7 mi from city center -90% Hotwire User Recommended Hotel Amenities: Pet friendly Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access
  16. thereuare, Thanks for the guesses. As for the second 4 star hotel in the Magnificent Mile Area - River North, it didn't come up on HOTWIRE today for me so I'm assuming the deal is over. I'll reach out to AaronJB to see if he can figure out the last hotel and then I'll decide if I should purchase it through HOTWIRE or try my luck on PRICELINE. Thanks again for all the help.
  17. I'm visiting Chicago on 04/26/2013 - 04/29/2013. I can get a W Hotel City Center room for $144 through a colleague who works for Starwood but I want to see what other options I have first. I'm looking for at least a hotel with 4 stars. I tried a maximum bid of $130 on Priceline for a 4.5* Hotel in the North Michigan Ave - River North Area which I assumed was the Omni Hotel but my offer wasn't accepted. Before placing a bid on a 4* Hotel on Priceline, I wanted to see what the Hotwire options were first. If any of you can help me ID these hotels, that would make my decision a whole heck of a lot easier. Here is what interested me. 1) 4-star Hotel in Downtown Chicago - Millennium Park - Grant Park - $111.00 -$242 other sites* -1.5 - 2.5 mi from city center -90% Hotwire Users Recommended This Hotel features the following amenities: Pet friendly Indoor pool(s) Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Accessible for the blind Braille or raised signage Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower 2) 4-star Hotel in Magnificent Mile Area - River North - $141 -$206 other sites* -0.6 - 2.0 mi from city center -90% Hotwire Users Recommended This Hotel features the following amenities: Pet friendly Fitness Center Business Center High-Speed Internet Access 3) 4-star Hotel in Chicago Loop - Theater District - $129 -$213 other sites* -1.0 - 2.2 mi from city center -85% Hotwire Users Recommended This Hotel features the following amenities: Pet friendly Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access
