  1. Hi, Another suggestion is a fully refundable deal at the Millenium Broadway (a 4* in Times Square). My dates are similar to yours and I had bad luck on PRICELINE and so booked this as a back up. The rate is for $189 per night but it's for a Superior King room or a Superior room with 2 twins. Not sure if this works for you but incase it does here's the link thru Hotwire travel ticker: http://www.hotwire.com/travelticker/detail...king=deal-title You can always make a reserveration here (refundable up to 24hours prior to check-in date) and keep trying on priceline. Good luck!
  2. Hi, I've seen some of the recent winning bids and have considered rebidding. Do you think that bidding on two rooms at once is decreasing my chances? Has anyone gotten good deals in the past on priceline with a multiple room bid? Thanks!
  3. Sheraton New York Hotel And Towers in the MTW zone and Morgans Hotel in the MTS zone
  4. Hi, i had some time off today so i decided to bid. i modified the bid sequence and only bid on the MTE, Times Square and UM-CPS zones. I used a similar bidding sequence, with a modified combinations and went up to $215 for all three. Still no luck. I hesitate to bid in the MTW and MTS areas because of some bad reviews on the priceline listed hotels in these areas. This is the first time my family is going to NYC (for my medical school graduation) and I want the hotel to be just right but without going broke at the same time. Am I having trouble because I'm bidding on two rooms at once or is this just a weekend with low inventory? I split my bid to just June 6- June 8 and went up to $215 in the MTE, Times Square and UM-CPS areas. I had no luck. Although I could push the price up to $250, I really don't want to pay that much unless it's absolutely necessary. Any more advice? Thank you!
  5. thank you! i will try in a few days when i am off and will keep you posted. i will use the links that you posted.
  6. Hi, I am trying to bid for TWO rooms in a 4 star hotel in NYC from Thursday June 5th to Sunday June 8th. I have bid in MTE, MTW, UM-CPS, MTS and Times Square up to $235 with no success. Your advice or input would be appreciated! Thanks.
  7. Hi, I have great news. Hotwire did switch the reservation! I didn't make the call however, my boyfriend did and he's gifted when i comes to speaking and negotiating The new hotel is: Interconntinental on Bloor St - 4star Downtown Amenities: pool, fitness centre, business centre, restaurant 72 dollars Thanks for your assistance on this forum. Yesterday was the first time I came across it and having browsed through it I think it's an invaluable resource and will be consulting it again before I plan future trips. Thanks!
  8. Hi, Thanks for the advice! I am going to try the approach that you suggested. Do you know if anyone has had any experience in the past with such requests? The ammenities under my Best Western booking are definitey 'restaurant, fitness centre, pool and high speed'. This booking was made in the morning. I also just checked hotwire again and it seems that the option presented to me for $72 is no longer availalbe, however a different option with different ammenities is. Also, when Hotwire says 'High Speed'.......does this mean that high speed is available in the rooms or just in the lobby? Thanks!
  9. Hi, The name of the hotel is: Best Western Toronto Aiport West It is located in the Lester B Pearson Airport Zone I got it for 72USD on Hotwire Dates of stay: Jan 30-Feb 3 2006 Amenities are restaurant, fitness centre, pool and high speed internet. Thanks!
  10. Hi, I know that officially hotwire says that there are no refunds.........however, what if I made the wrong choice on hotwire and now would like to change it? The error is entirely my fault and lack of research but I am wondering whether there are any loopholes? I am in Toronto for 4 nights (this coming Monday to Friday) and need to be commuting to Mississauga on a daily basis. This morning I selected the Airport area and got a 3 star for $72. I completed the transaction. I then realized that downtown really isn't that far a drive from Mississauga via car (only about 25-30 mins during non traffic times). A downtown Toronto 4 star is for $76 and I'd much prefer to be in the heart of the city.........and in all honesty, had I know that such a cheap deal was available and actually thought about it, I would have taken the 4 star in a heartbeat. Is there any way whereby I could get Hotwire customer service to change my hotel? Does anyone have any experience with Hotwire making exceptions in circumstances where they don't have to refund money but simply change the area and charge the price difference? This has all taken place today........the airport 3 star for $72 is still available as is the downtown 4 star for $76. Any help or advice would be much appreciated! Thanks :)
