  1. I'm finding the same thing for Thursday and Friday, Aug. 4th and 5th. I've never had such difficulty in Chicago.
  2. I should have started lower, as my first bid was accepted. Winning bid was for 2 rooms at $130 per room for one night. Taxes and fees were $33.76, so total came to $293.76. Based on reviews, it sounds like the rooms are small, albeit nice, and all are doubles or two singles. I didn't want to take a chance on not getting a rollaway bed for the room, so I bid for two rooms. Web site price was $218 US per room. And YES, I used your PRICELINE link this time around.
  3. Can you adjust your dates to the 15th-19th? If so, there are all kinds of Scottsdale rentals on ebay right now at really low rates. Most run Saturday to Saturday. I got the Westin Kierland for $125/night on craigslist, but there are other properties much cheaper, like the Sheraton.
  4. I have never gotten a "smoking" room in over 50 Priceline stays. My advice would be to read reviews on tripadvisor to see if the Priceline hotels in question have given out smoking rooms. You will save much more money by using Priceline over Hotwire.
  5. Interesting! I've been afraid to bid 4* in scottsdale, because I don't want Scottsdale Resort or the Hilon. This is certainly a much better choice. Congratualtions!
  6. Started bidding at $40. Winning bid was $44 per night plus taxes and fees of $13.01 per night.
  7. I really wanted this hotel because they offer a free shuttle service to and from the Toledo airport. Before bidding on PRICELINE, I contacted this property to see if they'd give me a discount on three rooms. They refused. Looking through a year's worth of winning bids I saw that this was the only 3* hotel awarded in Holland, so decided to take the chance. I actually won this property on 3 separate bids. The dates of stay were each a little different. I started bidding at $42. At $50, I received a counter-offer message, "If you raise your bid by $13..." I ignored it, and with an increase of $1, got this hotel. There are no 3* hotels in the North Toledo zone or the Oregon zone, so I was able to use those zones for free rebids, allowing me to place 3 bids in a single day. With my AAA discount of $10/night, the web site rate for four nights was $396.95. My total PRICELINE cost, including $41.12 in taxes and fees, was $245.12.
  8. Yeah, that's what I figured. If you need parking for a week, you're better off booking directly with the hotel to get the Park and Fly rate. Thanks. You just prevented me from making a big mistake.
  9. Are you sure you got the Regency and not the Hyatt Hotel? Apparently there are two in Rosemont. Also, what do you know about parking? Is it $22/night? Do they offer an park and fly package?
  10. Congratulations!!!! You did exactly what I SHOULD have done. The Westin should be much better than the Sheraton!
  11. Is there a resort showing up on HOTWIRE for your dates? I only got one and it was in Nuevo Vallarta area. By the decription, I think it's actually up in Punta Mita. I don't blame you for not wanting the Sheraton. That's what I just got on PRICELINE in the 4* category.
  12. Sorry for the confusion. My stay is for 5 nights. The price stated was per room and per night. I thought it would be easier to understand. And, unfortunately, I am not overly thrilled to receive this property. Hotel reviews have not been real positive. I feel I could have gotten the Marriott Casamagna had I continued to bid the resort category only. I say this because I got one of those, "If you up your bid right now by $17.....", but I added the 4*, kept my bid the same, and got this property. If anyone else bids Puerto Vallarta, stick to the resort category for the Marriott. I think $80 may have won it.
  13. Bid using your PRICELINE link at the top of the page even though it's more inconvenient than going directly with PRICELINE. Began bidding with Resorts at $45. When rejected, I'd add 4* and try again. Each day, I increased my bid by $5. Finally ended up winning 2 rooms at the Sheraton Bouganvilias for $70 per room plus $14.20 in taxes and fees for a total of $84.20 per night per room. The Sheraton web site lists the rate at $175/night.
  14. Had actually hoped to get Inn of the Governors because of location, breakfasts, and cocktails. Oh well..I started bidding at $69 so should have started lower as hotel's web site lists the total stay at $320 and I ended up paying $248 with taxes and priceline fees.
  15. So disappointed! This hotel is rated #21/37 hotels in Erie. Very unlike PRICELINE to give out such low-ranking hotels! This is the first Erie hotel to be reported on your web site. I began bidding at $32, raising it $4 each day until "winning" this. I got a "if you just increase by $10 message", which I ignored.
  16. This hotel is in the Hollywood zone, not the Fort Lauderdale Beach zone. You need to put that in the title, as the Marriott Harbor Beach seems to go to bidders in the Fort Lauderdale Beach Zone. The correct title for this thread should be Resort Hollywood Westin Diplomat ..............
  17. Did this hotel come up in the Fort Lauderdale zone? Can you change the title to reflect the winning bid? Thanks.
  18. I've been studying this for a while, and it looks like most of the wins have been Casa Marina and Marriott Beachside, a 3 1/2*. If a Hyatt were to come up, it would probably be the one in town, not the one on the island, as it is more expensive. I decided not to use Priceline because we need 2 beds and most Key West hotels only offer one king bed.
  19. Thanks to the previous poster with the winning bid on this property! This is where I really wanted to stay. I began bidding at $125 and kept adding zones that didn't have "resort" categories. $135 bid won, with around $20 per night in taxes and fees to Priceline. That is an excellent rate for this property, especially during Easter week. Rates are normally double.
  20. This was my first bid so be sure to bid lower. Taxes and fees were $14.99 so the total came to $64.99. Lowest web site price was $169. Priceline marked the 3 1/2* as a best buy. Normally I bid 4*, as they are the best buy.
  21. O.K. This is a coincidence. I happen to live in the Westgate area and I can tell you that Crown Plaza and Park Inn are not in this area. The only hotels within half a mile of Central Ave's Westgate area are the Clarion, the Red Roof Inn, a Comfort Inn. I agree with you, in that none should be considered 3*.
  22. I'm scared to get the Emily Morgan. Have you stayed there before? I've stayed at this Marriott years ago and loved the location, if it's right on the Riverwalk and close to the mall.
  23. Started bid through www.SavingsBarn.com. I know others have gotten this for $43, but I bid $50 because I didn't want to use other zones as re-bids if needed. Taxes and Service fees were $14.16 for one night, bringing the total to $64.16.
