  1. Accepted on first bid so I may over overbidded. But lowest advertised rate on thier website for same night is $179, so I did well., I did use the PRICELINE link provided.
  2. You can close this thread. I will be in minneapolis but with a freind that night. Thanks for the help on this and I will keep everyone up to date on my other wins.
  3. A little bit of waiting did not hurt as last weeks bidding for my remaining nights had no luck. My first night is at the same hotel under a different bid (Posted as $65). First Bid Accepted. I used savingsbarn.com to get to priceline. Info on bid below. Thanks. Now my trip is complete! Hotel Name: Hyatt Regency Chicago 151 East Wacker Drive Chicago, Illinois 60601 312-565-1234 Your Offer Price: $62.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $124.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $26.97
  4. I dont know where to put this but I thought it would be nice to let the board admin know and others (if appropriate) that nationally known consumer guru spoke highly about this website this morning. He was being interviewed about the economy and how to get low hotel rates. He said that before using priceline and hotwire, you have to educate yourself and get to know this website and forum. He then gave an example of two winning hotel bids he did (NYC and DC). I was just in my car listening to the morning news in Dallas when he talked about it. Good job!
  5. I too have stayed in the Sheraton Suites. It was ok, large rooms, a bit musty. I think I and some other guy were the only people in the hotel that night. Totally vacant to the point that I wondered if it was even open when I arrived. But, overall a good experience but there are better 3* in the area.
  6. First bid of $39 accepted. Crowne Plaza, a very good hotel. This is only second time I won this hotel and I tend to stay in Dallas often. $39 + 12.87= $51.87 Total
  7. ORIGINAL DATES: 3/6-3/9 BID ONE: 4* $55 NMA Rejected BID TWO: 4* $58 Add Loop Rejected BID THREE: 4* $62 Add Midway Rejected REBID (change date to 3/6 only) BID ONE: 4* $65 Loop Accepted I did use savingsbarn.com link for this winning bid. Now for the next two nights.....
  8. This was about a month ago but since it is a new 3* in the Market Street / Love Field area of Dallas, I would add it. $46 Holiday Inn Market Center This caught me off gaurd as this is a new 3* in the area. However, minus the elevators and somewhat questionable location (Harry Hines Blvd), it was a good experience. I WILL become a user of savingsbarn.com now since I regularly use priceline and HOTWIRE.
  9. So far, since I have some time, my strategy of undercutting has failed. I will re-bid priceline a bit more realistically in the next day or so once I find out some more info on a hotwire message I put in the other forum. So, I give this info to any potential bidders so far. Any strategy to aid me is appreciated. March 5 is seemingly a good time to go since there are specials on the hotel websites. I used savingsbarn for the second bid (once I remembered) and will use it again. February 15 Bidding BID ONE: 4* DT $40 rejected BID TWO: ADD FRIDLEY $44 rejected BID THREE: ADD 3* $40 rejected BID FOUR: ADD BURNSVILLE $44 rejected BID FIVE: ADD COONS $46 rejected BID SIX: ADD St. PAUL NW $50 rejected On todays bid, I added 3* University with similar rejections. I think I will have to start at $50 and work my way up? Suggestions? Thanks again
  10. Greetings. I return needing some professional advice regarding the two hotwire hotels for 3/5 one night. I am (or soon will) post a similar message in priceline about my failed bids the last two days regarding MSP. HOTEL ONE: 3.5 star $75 University Fitness, Swim, Rest, Business, Internet, and Tennis (My guess is Radisson) HOTEL TWO: 4 star $83 Downton Fitness, Swim, Rest, Business, internet (my best guess is ??) Thanks for help / advice. I will use the appropriate HOTWIRE link from this resource.
  11. Here were the desriptors for the Holiday Inn Baltimore Inner Harbor: Fitness, Pool, Resteraunt, Business Center, Laundry and Golf Nearby Let me add that Priceline was not my friend for 10-13. However, priceline worked for the 14th. I have a winning priceline bid for Sunday 14th as well. Please check that forum. Thanks!
  12. Won on second bid. First Bid: 4* $79 Second Bid: added 3*, dropped to $69 and it was accepted to my surprise. Hotel is Sheraton City Center, where I have a conference starting at there later in the week so I may get sick of the place. But I am happy for now! I will post a hotwire hotel next as I used hotwire for Saturday night. Thanks!
  13. I am back already but wanted to put this up for reference: Made the bid on June 13. BID ONE: $75 Rejected; offered $22 addition with free re-bid. I rejected that. BID TWO: $82 Accepted. Wyndham I also made a bid for Ohare Hotel for Saturday night (June 17) on Friday afternoon. BID ONE: $60 Accepted Hyatt Regency Friday night i used MArriott Reward. Sorry if you wanted these separated. Just seemed easier. Also, the week prior all bids for downtown rejected. I did use SavingsBarn that time. On the 13th, I was just in a hurry. Thanks! Les
  14. Bid History for one room 3 nights in North OKC: Bid One: $40 for 3* (Rejected but given free rebid if add $12) Bid Two: $43 for 3* added free zone, rejected priceline's free rebid (Rejected) Bid Three: $45 for 3*, added another free zone, ACCEPTED Total Cost: $45 *3 nights +$27.71 tax etc = $162.71 Lowest advertised rate for Crowne is about $67 for state rate, which I qualify for. Marriott lowest rate was $89. Studied how to bid so thanks. Not the $40 that another got but I am happy.
