My wife is flying to Australia for several weeks between late July and middle to late August. As an example of rate quotes, July 24-August 14 or 21 (middle of the week) is currently $1,637 including taxes and fees. Is there a legitimate chance of getting a price less than roughly $1,100? This is smack-dab in the middle of winter there, so it should be off-peak travel time. Also, am I right in assuming that, since available flights out there are limited on a day-to-day basis, she would have a pretty good idea of what set of flights she might get before bidding?
