  1. It was the Victoria Marriott Inner Harbour. Thanks for your help!
  2. 4* Victoria BC hotel for November 9-11, 2019 Amenities: Free internet, Business center, Fitness center, Indoor pool(s), Pet friendly, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Smoke-free room Would someone be able to guess which hotel this might be? Thanks!
  3. The hotel was good - the room was a fair size, and the location was excellent (very close to a few metro lines). After our stay, I noticed that my credit card was charged $50/night. When I called the hotel to inquire about the charge, they said that they always put that amount as a "hold" (in case case of incidentals incurred during the stay) but that they would release the hold if there were not any incidentals. The hotel also said that normally for non-US credit cards, the release may take from 2 weeks to 1 month. Is this normal practice? I've stayed in many hotels and while they always run my card to prevent people from skipping out without paying for incidentals, I thought they never actually carry out the charge but instead just gets authorisation for a certain amount?
  4. $50 didn't work, so bidded $60 and got the 4* Hamilton Park Hotel from March 29-30. Thanks so much for your help!
  5. I would be up for bidding on PL! Could you please recommend a strategy?
  6. Yes, Morristown sounds fine in terms of distance to NYC and possibly free parking. Obviously it would be great to be within walking distance, but we can't be choosers when we're using PL and HW, right? Any additional advice you have would be most appreciated.
  7. The reason was because of our budget. We would be ok with spending about $140 for a 3* in NYC, but it seems that there isn't much availability on March 29 in NYC.
  8. Would you have any suggestion for the most convenient town to stay in NJ en route from Ontario to NYC? It would be great if the town is quaint as we would be arriving around the evening and it would be nice to go to a cute little restaurant, but convenience is most important. Any advice you have would be much appreciated!!
  9. $133 for 4* Doubletree By Hilton Metropolitan New York in Midtown East.
  10. Hooray! I used your strategy on PL and got the DoubleTree by Hilton, 4*, for $133 per night from March 30 - April 1. Thank you SO MUCH for your help! I think we'll try to get another hotel en route from Ottawa on March 29. Love this forum!!!
  11. Ideally I'd get the highest star rating for under $150, anywhere in Manhattan that is safe and close to the subway.
  12. I was hoping to get anything above a 3* and under US$150. My preference is to stay in Manhattan and not have to worry about travelling back and forth. I am willing to split the bid, though again, less ideal. The cost for that Hoboken area hotel for Mar 29-30 is US$144.
  13. Hi there, Would you know which 4* hotel in the Hoboken/Jersey City/North Bergen area may be? Available March 29-30 for $155.37. Amenities: Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access, Tennis Nearby
  14. Hi there, We would like to see about getting a room in New York for 2 people from March 29 to April 1. It's during the Easter long weekend, so I understand it may be harder to get rooms and they may be more expensive. Not being a pro on Priceline or Hotwire, what would you recommend we do? We were hoping to stay below $150. Do you know if it would be fairly easy to get from "Hoboken - Jersey City - North Bergen" or "Long Island City - Greenpoint" into Manhattan using public transit?
