  1. Didn't have time to bid/rebid and needed hotel close to Mass General Hospital so went with a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals posting. Just reporting it here so people know that Onyx is still among the 4star choices in Beacon HIll - West End (this is consistent with current BB Priceline Hotel List for this area).
  2. See OP for first day of bidding. Second day I started at $64 for Woodcliff - Park Ridge, rejected rebid* at $67 adding Mahwah - Ramsey - Allendale, rejected Today picked up where I left off: started at $69 for WPR, rejected rebid* at $72 adding MRA, won Sheraton Mahwah. *note this was a true rebid as MRA also has 3.5* hotels (just as happy staying in MRA as in WPR) Along the way I got some great input from the BB folks (see posts above - thanks again!) Used the PRICELINE link from this page to start the process.
  3. Hey, thanks so much - I really appreciate both the bidding advice as well as the offer to use the discount! I am going to try a couple bids today in the range you mentioned. Hopefully that'll work but if not I will go through PE and take advantage of that discount you offered. I'll let you know what happens and thanks again for the help!
  4. started at $45 for Woodcliff - Park Ridge, rejected rebid* at $50 adding Mahwah - Ramsey - Allendale, rejected closed browser, opened new screen started at $55 for MRA, rejected rebid** at $60 for WPR, rejected No luck, try again tomorrow! *note this was a true rebid as MRA also has 3.5* hotels (just as happy staying in MRA as in WPR) ** same as * except with the zones reversed Used the PRICELINE link from this page to start the process.
  5. I cannot say that I am 100% certain, but I'm pretty sure you are right that the only amenities showing before purchase were pets allowed and business center. If it helps, I am 100% certain that it had a "bed choice available" icon and that it did NOT have a free internet icon (Conrad has generally excellent reviews but it's worth noting that many reviewers have commented - correctly in my view - that a 5* hotel ought to have free internet rather than wifi available for a fee).
  6. We did decide to book this and we did in fact get the Conrad. Used the PRICELINE link from this page to start the process. Thanks for the help.
  7. BTW, in regard to hotel ID question, the bed options under the DFD Express Deal refer to "suites" and I believe Conrad New York is all (or very nearly all) suites.
  8. Fairly new to this cool site, could use some help on an NYC bidding question re April 25 for one night. PL retail side offers two 5* hotels in Downtown-Financial District (at least I think it's DFD - they call it "Wall Street" on the retail side), Conrad NY and Ritz Carlton Battery Park. Retail for Conrad is $350 marked down from $389. PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal includes a 5* hotel in DFD for $277. However, NYOP has no 5* hotels at all in DFD. Am I missing something or NYOP simply not an option at this point in time for 5* in DFD? In terms of hotel ID, do you agree that the PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal for a 5* in DFD for $277 is highly likely to be Conrad New York? Thanks for the help.
  9. Toledo's posts made me realize that I probably should have given some further info in my original post. 1. I was making a same-day bid at (9:00 am on the day of intended check-in). 2. It was Saturday night. 3. There was a major sporting event (PGA Tour - Honda Classic) in West Palm Beach at that time, and typically the commercial effects of a golf tournament like that will reach their peak on Saturday night (the last night before the final round on Sunday). True to form, we were out in downtown West Palm on Saturday night and it was packed with golf fans. 4. There are only a few 3 star hotels in zone 6 (PBI) to begin with, and the only 3 star direct booking (List View) options on PRICELINE that morning were the Marriott (which we won) and the Hilton Garden Inn. Both of those hotels would have been fine with us and both had a direct booking price well in excess of our final $200 bid. 5. At the end of the day, we made the bid knowing that we could get assigned to any known or unknown 3 start hotel in zone 6, and really we were fine with that (even if it ended up being the Marriott Courtyard). I knew when I reported this win that in some ways a $200 figure might not be thought of as much of a win (as proven by Toledo's much more impressive figures from December), but I tend to look at things in a positive light - it was $109 less than PRICELINE's direct booking price, and that was a good 20% less than Marriott's own price. So in the end, we saved a bit of money, but not nearly as much as you normally can save through the rebidding process. I'm not sure how much value it will have for future bidders because of the Saturday night/PGA Honda Classic factor.
  10. Started at $125, rejected Immediate rebid at $150, rejected Immediate rebid at $175, rejected Immediate rebid at $200, accepted Priceline direct booking was $309. We wanted the Marriott but assumed we'd get the airport Hilton (which was also 3 stars and also in zone 6) because the Hilton was cheaper (direct booking through Priceline at $239). To our surprise we got the Marriott after all. We were happy with the hotel and the location. Note that Priceline's zones for West Palm Beach are a little weird - if you want to be close to the downtown WPB action, you are actually best to bid on the "airport" zone which is zone 6.
