  1. Ended up going with the Aladdin at 94.50 a night. Rate was through my Sheraton corporate account. No one (priceline, hotwire, etc) could even come remotely close to that rate at a 4* property.
  2. Hey thereuare, Quick question ... I know you are always talking about Hotwire dealing with the Wynn even though it's not on the list here. Looking at rates for 3/14-3/16, I see the Venetian at $239 and the Wynn at $384 on their respective websites. Hotwire's only 5* is $275 with a retail of $384. This has got to be the Wynn, no? Or are they just screwing with me? The amenities are identical to the Venetian including the Customer Favorite. I realize I'd be covered under the double the difference if it turned out to be the Venetian but... On a side note, I know you like maximums and what not before giving bidding advice but do you know off the top of your head the neighborhood of what the Venetian usually goes for on PL when it's web rate is $239?
  3. Was unable to find a 3* or 4* Downtown, Coastal or Coronado for under $100 a night using all available rebid zones. Ended up trying 2.5* Downtown only with a $45 first bid (plus a $5 per night free money coupon) and got the HI. Room was solid for a 2.5* and staff were friendly but the location was kind of on the outskirts of downtown with a minimum 10 block walk in any direction to get to restaurants and bars and what not. Hotwire had this property listed at $59 a night and the HI website had it at $140.
  4. Well, for example, 10/25-10/28 at LAS. Also rent a ton in the NYC area but have had no luck in getting an under 25 bid through at LGA or EWR.
  5. Has anyone under 25 ever been successful bidding on Priceline for a car rental? Am I wasting my time if I don't bid over and above the $35-$50 the national chains want as an underage surcharge? It seems like no matter what I bid I get a 2nd screen that tells me that my price is unlikely to be accepted because it is too low for an under 25 renter. Any experiences would be appreciated.
  6. It was a very good deal indeed. The hotel was FANTASTIC. It was towards the outside of the DT area, but with the subway stop right in the basement of the property, convenience was not an issue. Everyone was so friendly there and it was definitely a first class property, in my opinion at the upper edge of a 3* property. Certainly at least a 3.5* when compared to other PL/HW 3*s I've been in.
  7. Got the Marriott Toronto Bloor Yorkville for $48 a night 2/4 - 2/6 Toronto DT 3*
  8. Not sure exactly. I guess the absolute lowest price for a 3* minimum. But if we're talking $10 a night more, would rather go for the 4*.
  9. Thanks for the help guys! Any suggestions on the 3* aspect? It looks like most people end up at the Courtyard. Is that what I should expect and what are my price points? -Thanks again
  10. I'm looking to take advantage of a last minute fare from NYC-Toronto this weekend. Looks like on Hotwire there is a 4* DT (I assume the Sheraton) for $75. This would be fine for me but would rather get a better deal on Priceline if possible. Looking to pay no more than that and willing to go 3 or 4* DT. Any suggestions? -Thanks
  11. Ammenities: Restaurant, Pool, Fitness Center, Laundry Facilities Not bad for Friday and Saturday nights. Hotel was as expected for a HI, although someone pulled the fire alarm 3am on Friday night. Guess it's almost expected when staying with drunk skiers.
