The hotel seems to have good ratings on Trip Advisor. The cheapest rate I was able to find for this hotel in transparent websites was $316 (including taxes). We paid a total of $120 (including taxes). So we saved around 63% on this hotel booking thru Hotwire!

The advance booking rate for this same hotel on the hotel's website is $418. So a savings of more than 50%. Pretty pleased with the location as well since it is close to the Zoo, where we plan to spend a day.
I looked again and yes - Pets Allowed and Airport Shuttle were also in the list of amenities.

I used the Express deals to book my hotel in Dallas for the weekend of 11/29 - 12/1. The hotel had free Parking and free Breakfast and allowed me to choose a non-smoking King bed room with a fridge (which is quite important when traveling with an infant). The rack rate seems to be $88 a night on La Quinta's website, so I'm satisfied with this hotel.
I used the PRICELINE links from the betterbidding website to make the booking.

I changed my mind on the area and ended up booking a hotel thru HOTWIRE in the Houston Bush Intercontinental/Aldine area.
Here were the amenities I was seeing for 9/13 to 9/14 for 3 adults for a 2.5* Hotel at $36.

The property was pretty good and was clean. The staff were friendly and we enjoyed our stay there, though it didn't feel like a 3 star. It was more of a 2 or a 2.5 * at the most.

We did not book this hotel. We ended up booking the Hyatt Place Orlando/Universal
This was the Holiday Inn. It was only a few blocks from the 6th street and was a pretty good hotel.
