  1. Well worth the 3 stars. Very comfortable - I was given a large suite room with a separate bedroom and door (nice to close it on the refrigerator noise), central kitchenette/bathroom area (including 2 burner stove and dishwasher) and separate living room with its own TV. It's about 6 stories tall. Neighborhood is quiet - a hillside covered with greenery is across the street. They also seemed to credit my Hilton card, though I'll believe that when it's credited.

Very substantial complimentary breakfast - eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, etc. and plenty of fruit.

Parking is in the basement for $15/day; there are some cheaper outdoor parking lots a block up the hill.

Located close to the waterfront, but well north of the Pike's Place Market area (which is about a 15-20 minute walk). The Queen Anne neighborhood shopping district is an easy 5 minute walk up the hill to restaurants, movie theatre, Safeway, etc. A little bit further takes you to the Key Arena and Science Center, and further than that, the Space Needle.

  2. Very nice property, well worth the 3 stars. The building is about 6 stories high. I got a large suite with a separate bedroom & king bed (and a bedroom door that could close on the refrigerator noise - the frequent downside of a suite room), a central kitchenette (with dishwasher & stove with 2 burners) and bathroom area, and separate living room with its own TV (other TV in bedroom). Free internet and good breakfast buffet included (on weekends also), with eggs, sausage, biscuit & gravy, various fruits, etc. Parking is an extra $15 in the basement; there are some cheaper lots up the street.

The hotel is located a block off the waterfront, so to speak, although to actually walk to the waterfront edge you have to cross over the train tracks either at the new Sculpture Garden about 3 blocks to the south, or over the Amgen helix bridge to the waterfront park several blocks to the north - a nice walk either way. It's also an easy walk up the hill to the Queen Anne neighborhood shopping area with movie theatre, Safeway, restaurants, Key Arena, etc., and Science Center and Space Needle a bit farther. But you are a good 15-20 minute walk north of Pike's Place Market. The hotel location itself is fairly quiet.

They even appeared to have credited my Hilton points & miles account, which isn't typical with priceline purchases (we'll see if that actually shows up).

  3. First bid of $60 for Lake Union 2.5* was rejected.

Re-bid of $63 for Lake Union & Downtown 3* was rejected.

Re-bid of $66 for Lake Union, Downtown & University 3* was rejected.

    Logged off.

First bid of $67 for Downtown 4* was rejected as a repeat.

    Re-bid of $68 for Downtown & Lake Union 4* + 3* was rejected as a repeat

    Re-bid of $68 for Downtown, Lake Union & Bothell 4* + 3* was accepted.

My guess is that the higher price (higher than $55/night for the weekend) is because of the Monday night stay, maybe I could have gotten $67 but I won't sweat the extra $3!

Checking on Expedia, the lowest decent comparable was for $89/night before taxes (Pike St. Inn, etc.).

  4. Parked for free (overnight) in the basement parking of the M Grocery Market on the other side of I-5 - it's signed as $18 for 24 hours, but there wasn't anyone collecting on a Saturday morning (!) Don't know how long that will last.

Freeway noise is noticeable - not a problem if you've trained yourself to sleep with earplugs (and they provide you with a pair). Otherwise, the room was very comfortable. No free Wifi.
