  1. YASSSSSS!  1/24 to 1/26 Priceline Express 21c Museum Hotel Nashville.  Funny when I looked at it today it also had "spa" as an amenity which would have been the clue that wasn't there yesterday.

All in with taxes, $10 trip protection and 5% BB discount (thanks guys!) $419.

Looking forward to the stay and calling them to request a room with a natural light window - that's the one downside is that the room could be interior without natural light, but since my husband is part vampire that's not so bad. 🙂

    Happy New Year!

  2. Amenities: Boutique, Smoke--Free, Fitness Center, Internet Access, Restaurant, Business Center, Spa Services

VERY happy with this price.  Going rate on that date for Starwood Members prepaid is $400 all in.  As one person commented before, the tricky part on this one is it is not a boutique hotel, but the Lenox and Eliot do not have spas or fitness centers.  The Westin has an awesome spa (Grettacole),

I live in the area and have always wanted to stay here, as I love the Back Bay.  This will be a perfect friend getaway since we're each in at $125!   Could have kept up PRICELINE bidding but am very happy with this and no spending my nights rebidding...:)

Quick ?, are the hotels typically accommodating when you ask for two beds?  Very general question I know and I know it is not guaranteed....thx!!

It didn't show in BiddingHelper.com thought.  I think its the Fulton Lane Inn just won gotten recently by somebody else. The only place I really don't want is the holiday Inn Ashley river, but that doesn't seem to be in the downtown zone anymore.  Thank you.

  4. Soooo glad I don't have to do this again tomorrow night!  :D

Started at 5*, then reclicked (right term?) in at 4.5, then at 4...  started at 125 and $5.00 increments, then decided I want to sleep tonight and started at $150 with the 4*.  Very happy with this as we are only there for one night, and I am tired of Times Square and Mid-town East, this will be a change of scenery and maybe actually nice enough to walk in Central Park?? (We were there during the polar vortex in January!).

Don't use it very often but when I do, it always works, thanks Better Bidding!

  5. Hi,

Amenities Smoke Free, Fitness, Restaurant, Hi speed internet. I looked too quickly at the list and thought it would be Wynhdam Garden, but it is the Four Points Sheraton Chelsea which is slightly less well reviewed than Wyndham, but still a great deal, less than $200 all in with taxes. We are going to a show (Priscilla Queen of the Desert, so excited!) so will be there one night.

    thanks.

  6. I've been trying for weeks for a 4* in Dupont Circle. Was starting to get discouraged as there is a large convention in DC at that time, and the median price weekdays is $340. I was SO excited to get the Fairfax, that is where I really wanted to stay! My mom smokes and this hotel still has some smoking floors. We also love the area. I will be away for the two weeks prior to my DC trip so am really glad to have this buttoned up.

    History today:

Bid 125 Dupont Circle 4* rejected

    add Alexandria West(no 4*'s) bid 130 rejected

add Bethesda (no 4*'s) bid 140 rejected

add DC suburbs (no 4*'s) bid 150 accepted!

That would have been my highest bid so it's all worked out great.

Will report on the experience (PL treatment vs regular, getting 2 beds) upon return.

Any perks for joining Starwood Group points?

Many thanks to the forum. I did use the PRICELINE link to get to PL.

No longer a PRICELINE virgin :)

  7. Hello,

New to this site, it is a great resource! I am thinking of using Hotwire for the first time. In general what has been the quality of rooms users have been assigned? My fear is getting the worst room in the house! I know that for the price it won't be the best room, but just curious as to typical experiences. I am looking in NYC later this month.

Also, is there opportunity to upgrade at registration, or ask for a king if two double beds are offered etc. Again, I know that by using the deeply discounted site, I won't get the royal treatment, but don't want to be treated badly either!

If there's a link to a thread where this has been discussed let me know-still not sure if it's for me or not!

  8. GMTA, Good morning to all?

Thanks, you are right, in my haste my eyes must have been glazing over looking from one window to the other without writing things down (I just discovered this site and "method" last night). Also, I think I was hoping for the Barclay! Thanks for the help!

  9. Hello,

New here, this is a great site.

    4* coming up 1/23 - 1/25 for $131/nite.

    Restaurant

    Hi Speed Internet

    Business Center

    Fitness Center

    Tennis Nearby

Seems to be Intercontinental Barclay, but what is throwing me off is it says normal price is $225, but the lowest on the IC website is $339! Could this be such a deal? It's my 40th birthday so I don't want to blow it!

    Thanks.
