  1. Hey that's sound advice! I am going to bring these to the wife for a quick discussion. I will update you as to what our decisions are! Thanks again for all your help!
  2. Unfortunately, our timing only enables us to arrive on Saturday. We had a bunch of credits from Air Canada and there are restrictions on these credits so our times are set in stone. I think we could be open to switching hotels IF they are not too far from each other, but of course the ideal situation would be to not have to move around too much. If she weren't pregnant, this definitely wouldn't have been a issue. What were you thinking?
  3. Hahaha... here I was thinking... those ones I had looked at above were a decent location... Much to learn here... young grasshopper... I'm open to suggestions and any help! Want to make the most of this small trip before parenthood kicks in!
  4. Just out of curiosity, what would qualify the right property for a first time visitor?
  5. As this is my first time in Vegas I was hoping to experience a hotel on the Strip. We are working with a tighter budget (kid on the way and the wife really wanted to go to Vegas for our baby-moon... I know... not exactly what Vegas is known for... but as they say... happy wife... happy life) so I would say our budget is around $90-130 USD/night before fees/taxes. I wanted something clean and indicative of the lush Vegas experience. And as my wife IS pregnant, we also don't want to be that far off the strip as that is where we will most likely be spending our time! Let me know if there's anything else I can provide!
  6. Yikes. I didn't realize I didn't close that thread from so long ago. My apologies as we were actually in a bit of a rush at that time as we had a medical emergency with a friend we had to tend to in NYC. Although my response may not be what other readers would be looking for, I tried to add my 2 cents in with the hotel we finally did settle on. (The Kitano).
  7. My apologies for the delay in my response. As I had said previously in the thread, we were in NYC for a bit of an emergency and quickly realized we had to relocated to a closer hotel to our friend. Given the lack of time in that moment, we booked with the Hotel Kitano instead. If it's worth anything at all, I found the stay at the Kitano to be EXCELLENT and comes highly recommended. The staff is incredibly attentive and the rooms were EXTREMELY clean. The location was convenient for us as it was a hop and a skip away from Grand Central also.

  11. Ooo.... you're right about the Times Square hotel. My only caveat on any hotel we have is that it has to be nice and clean. This is a bit of an "emergency" we are attending to in NYC so if possible I was looking for quality on a budget. I am probably hoping to spend no more than $110/night. My ideal location would've been in the SoHo or Tribecca area. Last time I was in NYC for a real vacation I stayed at the likes of the Smyth Hotel in Tribecca and it was GORGEOUS. Anything along those lines are more my style! Any help is of course greatly appreciated! Thanks!
  12. I've checked my messages and clicked on both links. Sorry for the edit on the post, but my gf wants me to check the Times Square one as well as the SoHo one. Thanks for your help!
