  1. The Express deal was $89 dollars, but we saved $4 bucks per room by bidding "Name your own Price". Because we were bidding for a three star, and certain areas didn't offer more than a 2.5 star, we could incrementally add other areas to increase our number of bids as the board members here taught us. So instead of one bid, we were able to do 5 bids. We decided the range of bids would be over $20 dollars and divided $20 by our number of bids. We guessed we might win a bid between $65 to $85 (just below the express deal price). 1st bid started at $65 just bidding on #3 Center City East Philadelphia. Priceline asked if we wanted to bid $93, which would instantly guarantee a win. We declined the offer since the Express deal was only $89 and less than the new price Priceline offered. 2nd bid. We added the location 1. Bellmar and bid for $70, which was rejected. 3rd bid. We added 5. Cinnaminson for $75, which was rejected. 4th bid, we added Philadelphia Airport South, at $80, rejected. 5th and final bid $85 and added #15. Voorhees and won! After we were done, I realized there are coupons for Priceline both for the "Name your own Price" and for Express Deals! OOPS! Totally missed that one! It's one of the tabs above (Priceline Coupons). So remember to check the coupon section! I could have saved more. But I'm grateful for my win and the money I saved. Good ENOUGH! LOL! Happy Bidding! Thank you for everyone's help. Really appreciate all your help over the years!
  2. 6/14-6/16 3* San Diego, Sorrento Mesa $48 Rejected added San Ysidro $52 rejected 3 Travelers, 2 adults and one child. Hopefully within 30 minutes to the three areas: Sea World, San Diego Zoo, and the Animal Safari Park. Would like a family friendly area... 2* for around $40s 3* for around $50-60s I tried Sorrento Mesa as suggested in the forum. I need a child-friendly place from 6/14-6/17...Any advice? 3. Hi! Any advice on how much to bid would be appreciated :D . 6/12-6/13 3* LAX $66 rejected, added Culver City, $68 rejected added Santa Monica, $70 rejected tried again for 6/12-6/14 3* LAX for $75 rejected added Brentwood, bid $79, rejected added Beverly Hills, $82 bid, rejected. I am looking for a hotel that is close enough to LAX so I can attend my graduation without being stuck in traffic too long. Hoping for a 3 star in the 70-80s. Doesn't seem possible. 2 adults, one 9 year old child. I'm fine with 2-2.5 stars but would like a child friendly area. (Less chances of drunk people partying or up all night) I looked at their expressdeals: 2.5* LAX area. $94 Free Breakfast, internet and parking. Holiday Inn or Holiday Inn Express LAX. 3.5 starts of 5. Very good to average reviews. 2* Manhattan Beach/El Segundo $46 Better Bidding hotel possibilities 2: Hyatt House El Segundo (Ranked #4 of 10 hotels in El Segundo) 4of5 stars, Reviews mostly excellent and very good. Few complaints, some of rooms face bus zone 4am start, end 1:00 am, and they had partiers in next door room. (no availability on website) OR POSSIBLY (Free internet advertised only) 2* Towneplace Suites by Marriot in Manhattan Beach, #7 of 9 hotels, Mostly Good reviews. Train is above some of the rooms and makes it noisy, 18 minutes, 15 miles driving $169 on their website. Still available. Free Internet Do you have any suggestions where to stay. I'd be willing to pay maybe $40-50 for 2*. and $75-85 for a three star for a good area that can access UCLA without too much traffic (20-25 minutes ideally) Thanks for your help! Gr8ful Traveller :)
