1. Exceptionally pleased with this deal and the hotel. Very nice property, convenient to Georgetown proper and the Foggy Bottom-GWU Metro station.
2. I'm looking for a room in DC 12/26-29. I've come across the following Express Deal in the Capitol Hill-Convention Center: 3 Star Hotel in Capitol Hill - Convention Center Area for $69/night Guest Score: Rated 8.0 out of 10 (or higher) guest favorite Guaranteed Amenities: Indoor or Outdoor Pool Fitness Center Free Internet Business Center Any ideas as to what hotel this may be? Thanks for your assistance.
3. I checked PL earlier and saw a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal for a 4.5* property in the Downtown-White House area, which I expect is the Sofitel. The property and location both exceed our needs and wants. Of course, I would love to bid and try to win the property, thereby saving some money. Can you offer any help with a bidding strategy? Thanks in advance.
4. Decided not to go with the Hot.wire deal right now. I'm concerned about getting a property in the western part of Georgetown that isn't at all convenient to the Metro. I'm thinking I might try PL and focus on a downtown area or two. If I do, I'll start a new thread in the appropriate place.
5. Here are the full amenities after using BiddingHelper.com tool: Pet friendly Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Internet access Accessible for visually impaired Accessible for hearing impaired Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Accessible parking Roll-in shower Additionally, the price increased slightly to $75. Based on your earlier post, this seems to line up with the Westin Georgetown. Thanks for your assistance and I'll update the Healdsburg-Windsor thread shortly.
6. $73 Pet friendly Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Internet access Accessible for visually impaired Accessible for hearing impaired Tripadvisor 4.5/5.0 Hotwire Customer Recommended 95% I'm thinking this is the Westin Georgetown, but I want to make sure I'm not overlooking something. Thanks!
7. I saw a 4* Financial District-Embarcadero Express Deal for $130/night. I began bidding at $110 and re-bid in $2 increments until my offer was accepted at $120. I have stayed at the Le Meridien before and I am extremely happy about the hotel and, more importantly, the price. I used BetterBidding's PRICELINE link to begin my bidding and I cannot say enough good things about BetterBidding!
8. We'll be in the San Francisco area for a week, but I'm looking at doing the wine country portion of the trip during the first part of our stay, because hotel rates in Healdsburg, Napa, Sonoma, etc. are much cheaper July 2-4, as opposed to July 4-6. If we do wine country first, our San Francisco dates will shift to July 4-7.
9. I have bid on 3 (possibly 4) different occasions using the strategy outlined above, but have had no success. I plan to try bidding again as the trip gets a bit closer.
10. I'm looking at Express Deals for July 2-4, 2014, and the hotel is available for $107/night. The guaranteed amenities are free parking and a restaurant. It also has a 9.0 guest rating and is shown as a guest favorite. I'm thinking the h2hotel or, possibly, the Healdsburg Inn on the Plaza. Any guidance you can offer would be most appreciated.
11. I'll be staying in San Francisco July 2-5, 2014. Can you assist me with a bidding strategy for a 4* hotel in either the Financial District-Embarcadero or SOMA-Moscone Center? Thanks in advance for your help. JH
12. Followed your strategy and got the 4* Wyndham New Yorker Hotel for $115.00 (PL upgraded my 3.5* selection to a 4*). I must admit I'm not ecstatic, but I knew going in that an upgrade was possible and I decided to take the risk. Though the location is great, the hotel quality level doesn't seem to be as good as the 3.5* hotels in the zone. However, it is what it is and I'm sure the hotel will work fine for our purposes!
13. I just updated the Las Vegas thread, Sorry for not taking care of that earlier!
14. I ended up booking the Vdara directly at $103 (average) per night, primarily because of a $100 dining credit promotion that was being offered.
15. I'll be traveling to NYC next week (3/20-24) with 5 others (4 rooms total) and would love some bidding advice. My bidding zones are TS, MW, SoHo, ESB, MSG, Chelsea and I prefer them equally. Additionally, I'm looking at 3.5* hotels in these zones and would like to bid at that level. I would love to hit somewhere around $100ish/night, but I know that may not happen. Thank you in advance for any guidance you can provide.
16. I'll be happy to use the links provided. Thanks again for your assistance!
17. I'm planning to bid for a 5* hotel in the Strip South Vicinity when I get a little closer to my travel date. I have discovered several good deals for the Vdara (average of $103 per night) and Bellagio (average of $109 per night) for the dates listed above and I'd appreciate your opinion regarding the amount it'll take to win a room during that timeframe. Obviously, I want to get the best deal possible, whether it's by bidding or booking directly. Thanks in advance for your assistance.
