Thank you very much for your help on the bidding strategy :-) It worked perfect and just got a win: Hilton New York Fashion District for $133/night
Lets exclude CPS area then
Yes, I will actually try bidding before. Quite open on the location, we can add more zones than previously: Chelsea, Union Square, Greenwich Village, Midtown East, Midtown West, Central Park South. 4* and max $150.
One more question actually, for express bidding, is it better to use Price.line or Hot.wire?
Thanks!
Went up to $135 but I didnt get anything...left on holidays and left it there...I can see that now Midpoint has an hotel above 3.5
I also had to change my dates 29/08 to 31/08
I will now try PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals on Priceline. Would you please have an idea of the following hotels:
- 4 star rating - Midtown West area - rated of 8.0 - business Center / Restaurant / Fitness Center - $159 / night
- 4 star rating - Central Park South area - not rated - Business Center / Restaurant / Fitness Center / Pets Allowed / Free Internet - $157 / night
- 4.5 star rating - Midtown East area - rated of 8.0 - Business Center / Restaurant / Fitness Center / Pets Allowed - $168 / night
- 4 star rating - Upper West Side area - rated of 7.0 - Business Center / Restaurant / Fitness Center / Pets Allowed / Indoor or Outdoor Pool - $149 / night
Many thanks in advance,
A.
Would be Greenpoint I guess
Makes sense...will give it a try and let you know!
Here are all the zones in NY and the highest star rating
Brooklyn: 4
Central Park South:
Chelsea: 4.5
Coney: 2
Downtown: 5
Empire State: 5
Greenpoint: 3
Greenwich Village: 4
Hell's Kitchen: 4
Long Island: 4
LES: 4.5
Madison Square Garden: 4
Midtown East: 5
Midtown West: 4.5
Morningside Harlem: 3.5
Queensborough: 4
Soho: 5
Times Square: 5
Union Square: 4
Upper East Side: 5
Upper West Side: 4
What should I do now? :-)
Thanks for the strategy.
Just to make sure:
I start choosing Chelsea with $110 bid
if rejected I add Greenwich Village with $110 bid
if rejected I raise to $115 choosing Chelsea only
if rejected I add Greenwich Village with $115 bid
etc
Is that correct?
Thanks
Having read a few reviews I would rather pass on the Hudson hotel. Would you then have a different strategy (even excluding CPS not to take into account Hudson hotel)? Thanks in advance.
Sorry, I meant Midtown west. I would also add Central Park South in addition to the zones of my previous post.
And thanks for the guess for Hotwire.

Thank you very much for the answer.
I will have a look at the hotel mentioned and let you know if I go forward with the booking.
I did! They indeed gave me back the difference in price.
Reporting this win in Florence (4*, Florence Central, $90).
Started the bids quite low at $55 but only got it at $90...not a great bargain as I found the same hotel to be cheaper in a different website...
Hope that helps.
