  1. Amenities: Free Internet Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Internet access Tennis Nearby Needed a hotel with a good connection to Heathrow at a reasonable price. Indications were that this hotel was the Caesar and so it turned out to be. Perfect. About $80 cheaper than on their own site. Of course I used the Hotwire link on here to start my purchase.
  2. Thanks! I actually live in Dublin but a good friend is having a big birthday party in the city centre on Friday night and I decided to treat myself ;) It works out at twice what I'd spend on taxis to and from the party but makes for an altogether more pleasant night.
  3. Priceline has come up trumps on this one for next Friday night. Initial bid was $120 (5* City Centre) which was rejected but was offered free rebid for $139. Decided I was worth it and am delighted with the result! Of course I followed the link on here to PRICELINE in the first place ;)
  4. Followed the link on here to PRICELINE. It's a peak weekend in London and hotels were looking expensive. Had bids from $107 rejected when I started with Bloomsbury Marble Arch, then added Notting Hill, then Mayfair, then finally a result on Westminster at $111. Total costs work out Offer Price: avg. per room, per night US$111.00 Rooms: 1 Nights: 2 + Add nights for the same rate! Room Subtotal: US$222.00 Taxes & Fees: US$53.76 Total Charged to Card: US$275.76
  5. To post an update, while Priceline customer service on the phone were unhelpful I used their Twitter service to contact them and...RESULT :) The second reservation has been cancelled and a refund processed. Am very impressed!
  6. An update on this...We were really happy with the win until it turns out that Priceline reconsidered a bid my husband made on his account two days earlier (and hadn't told me about). He submitted a bid, it was rejected, then somehow they submitted it again (he said the screen froze when he first bid) and accepted it. He never got an acceptance/itinerary email though he did get a "check the status of your bid" email (which he didn't check). To cut a long story short, we now have two rooms in the same hotel..his bid was accepted at $147. Priceline won'd do anything despite the message on his account that his failed bid was resubmitted. Kinda takes the shine off this win.
  7. Using the link from here I have been bidding on these dates for weeks - 3.5 & 4* for Copley Square, Quincy Market & Cambridge Zones. Had bid up to $201 but no success. Finally got a result today. Breakdown is as follows Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $189.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Guests Per Room: 2 Number of Nights: 2 Room Subtotal: $378.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $67.08 (USD) Total Room Cost: $445.08 (USD) Not our ideal location but saving is about $150 over our cancellable reservation at the Colonnade...which in turn was over $250 cheaper than we would have paid if we'd booked it today. New England in Fall sure is pricey!
  8. Was trying the new priceline app on my phone (apologies for not using the PRICELINE link on here) and made a couple of bids for 4* in Boston. $159 - Quincy Market - Faneiul Hall - financial REJECTED $158 - above with Copley Square Theater District REJECTED $153 - added Convention Center Waterfront - success, Westin Waterfront Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $153.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Guests Per Room: 2 Number of Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $153.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $31.12 (USD) Total Room Cost: $184.12 (USD) Very happy with this, have stayed in the hotel before. Am also currently trying to secure a Boston Hotel for October 2 & 3, using the PRICELINE link on here for that :)
  9. Stay is 11 June Amenities: Fitness Centre, Restaurant, Business Centre, Hi Speed Internet Rooms 1 Room (1 night) €86.63 Subtotal €86.63 Taxes & fees €28.13 Total price €114.77
  10. Based on the amenities (as on the hotels list) and the Tripadvisor rating I was very confident that it was the Tara despite hotel list saying 3.5 star.
  11. Used the PRICELINE link here to look for an Orange County hotel (4*). Started at Costa Mesa Irvine for $63, then added Laguna Beach for $66, finally added Newport and won the Hyatt Regency.
  12. Used the PRICELINE link here to bid on LAX, went in on $61, won the Renaissance straight away
  13. Was having trouble getting a room at LAX on Election Night...opted to risk the 3.5 star on Hotwire (normally have a don't risk below 4* policy). Used the HOTWIRE link here to access it. Amenities : Shuttle, Fitness Centre, High Speed Internet, Pool, Laundry, Business Centre, Restaurants Hotel rate per night: $62.00 Nights:1 Rooms:1 Subtotal:$62.00 Tax recovery charges and fees:$15.19 Total Total price:$77.19
  14. Have been bidding in Fort Lauderdale for a couple of days now. Wanted 4* Downtown or Beach. Used the PRICELINE link on here...bidded 81, 83, 86, 88, 91, 93, 96, and finally got the W at $101 Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $101.00 Subtotal: $202.00 Taxes & Fees: $33.28 Total Charges*: $235.28 Hotel's own site starts from $224 per night so we're pretty happy!
  15. OH has a 1 night stay in Zurich coming up. Based on other bids on here we offered $101 and got the Marriott. Your Offer Price: US$101.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: US$101.00 Taxes and Fees: US$14.54 Total Charges: US$115.54
  16. Process was...accessed PL from this site 1st bid $81 NMA 2nd bid $86 + MDW - I did NOT select ORD Somehow the contract page says NMA, ORD & MDW..which I initalled. Stupidly only checked the price. Won't make that mistake again. Won't be using the reservation either, why would we want a hotel 18 miles from our preferred area?
  17. As the title says, bid $60 for September 19 at O'Hare for a 4* and won the Hyatt Regency. Started the process through the betterbidding PRICELINE link and was happy with this win :)
  18. When we went back to the contract page O'Hare was there as O'hAre ...which yes we should have noticed before initialling but I only checked the price. The mix of capitals etc was strange too as our booking for 9/19 has correct type.
  19. Sorry it was the Hyatt Regency O'Hare for $86! We already have a booking there for 9/19 which we won on PL for $60!!!
  20. Am very experienced with PRICELINE and am so annoyed that this has happened. Need a room in Chicago for 9/24. Have cancellable reservation for NMA in an all suites hotel but would prefer a nice 4* (Hotwire has a 4* on NMA for $109). Plenty of time to bid and re-bid so started low. From the PRICELINE link on here we selected city and date. Once on PL we selected NMA and bid $81, rejected. Added MDW as a re-bid strategy and went on to the contract page. Now this is where I messed up, I checked the price on the new contract page but didn't double check the areas. Confirmed order and voila 4* in O'HARE!! Went back and O'Hare is on the contract page but I am 100% certain I didn't select it. PL say I initialled the page so my fault. Yes I did mess up by not double checking the contract page but am annoyed that an area I didn't select even made it to the contract page :)
  21. Am pretty amazed at this deal! I named my price for a 4* in Chicago (North Michigan Ave/River North) from Jan 19-21 The Drake Hotel 140 East Walton Place, Chicago, IL Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $81.00 Subtotal: $162.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $33.61 Total Charges*: $195.61 Don't think I've ever got a 4* downtown at this rate before! Hotel's own site showing cheapest room at $165 for advance purchase.
  22. Thanks for the reply. After some more time online, based on the tripadvisor rating and number of reviews I think it's the HI too. Thing is it's cheaper on the HI website than on Hotwire so this is one booking I won't be hotwiring!
  23. Thinking about moving our stay in Paris to Disneyland next month. Hotwire's coming up with a 3.5 star hotel for $119 a night Facilities Shuttle Bus, Fitness Centre, Pool, Restaurant, Business Centre, Golf Any ideas? We don't want to be a million miles from the park Thanks
  24. 4* Bloomsbury-Marble Arch $129 + charges Amenities: Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business Centre Accessed HOTWIRE through the link on here and was delighted that this hotel was our old favourite, the Hilton Metropole. With taxes and fees the total rate was $309.58. On the hotel's own website the best rate was
  25. I was also interested in this hotel and decided to book. So I followed the HOTWIRE link above and selected this hotel (my dates are 31 May - June 2nd) and can confirm that I got The Hilton Metropole. Rate was $129 a night but with taxes and fees it came to just over $309. Given the hotel's own website best rate was
