Thank you, thereuare, I wasn't aware you could still go through betterbidding when using a bonus. Can you tell me how the bonus dollars work? When I make my bids, will that be the
actual bid amount and then priceline will deduct the bonus $$$ amount? For ex. if I bid
$100 (and have bonus of $10 a day) and $100 is accepted will I be charged $100 or $90?
Hope I am being clear in my question, thanks for any input you can give me.
A reminder that you can still use the board's PRICELINE link along with any bonus money.
Once you have deposited the bonus money into your account:
1) click a PRICELINE link on the board
2) go to the MY PROFILE >> MY REWARDS link at the top right of their home page
3) use the bonus money link in the MY REWARDS section of your profile (not a link from an email) and bid as usual
Thanks.
Needed a last minute hotel, had a friend check HOTWIRE.
Made a same day purchase on Hotwire for November 10, 2008,
3* Miami, South Beach $79, got the Marseilles Hotel. Location was around 17th St.
Descriptions were: 3* Hotel, in South Beach- Oceanfront Collins. Boutique, Oceanfront, restaurant, pool, Business center, golf nearby, tennis nearby, Spa
Hotel was decent, we were happy with it, thought for a minute we would get the Richmond Hotel which was 2 doors away. There really wasn't a "spa", but maybe it's because it is the slow season and it was not in use. Wouldn't mind staying here again for the price.
4* Baltimore Inner Harbor 9/30 $88
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bid 9/28 for a 4* and got the
Marriot Baltimore Waterfront for one night on 9/30/07 for $88.
I started with the Inner Harbor (IH) zone and bid $75, redbid a few times, at $80 got the
$22 counter offer, i refused, rebid again and was accepted at $88.
Marriott Baltimore Waterfront
700 Aliceanna St.
$ 88.00
19.27 taxes and service fees
$107.27 total
I'm happy since the lowest price on the Marriot website for this day was $341 (there was an
Orioles game this day).
Hotel was nice, we requested and got an upgrade to a corner room (according to the
front desk because I was so nice!). Self parking was $21 a day.
I'm glad to have read your review of the Caribe Hilton as
I've read some bad reviews lately. It'll be fine for our
post cruise one night stay. I know what to expect
and will not be disappointed if I get one of the "priceline"
rooms - especially at $65 :)
Since we are staying post cruise we won't have to worry
about bringing anything onboard in P.R. :)
but are glad to know that their is a convenience store
across from the Hilton. I'm sure others will benefit, though!
We can only stay one night in P.R. but hope to be able to
try La Casita Blanca and wil let you know when we
return if we do,
Thanks again for all your advice,
Aimee
Thanks, Thereuare,
for all the tips, I will definitely sign up for the
HHonors program. I think we will have to
try La Casita Blanca if we get a chance....sounds
like what I would also enjoy in the way of a
restaurant with a "local" flair - I may have to
pass up on that shot of liquor, though!
I'm very pleased with getting the Caribe Hilton,
especially since I've used Priceline in the past
and usually get a hotel for a bit less than what
Hotwire will charge for the same property.
This time there was a big difference.
Have you ever seen that happen before?
Really like your board, it's much more informal
and helpful than the other ones,
Thanks again and keep up the good work!
Just wanted to post that I won a bid on Friday 9/12
at the Caribe Hilton for $65 for a one night stay on
11/8/03. I was a bit surprised to get this on the first
try - especially since I first checked with Hotwire and
this hotel was listed at over $120 based on my
identifying it as 4 star and from the amenities.
I thought I would have to try a few times before
winning such a low bid :)
thereuare, I have one question; the total charges
for this stay was $79.67 which included $65 plus
14.67 taxes and service fees. Will I be also charged
an additional "resort fee" at time of check out?
Just want to be informed since I thought I read
that sometimes the resort hotels add additional
charges and want to be prepared?
Thanks for this board and your help,
aimee

Thank You Romelle for your quick reply, this is the first time I have the chance to use a bonus cash reward and wanted to be prepared! I will go through betterbidding and post when I decide to bid within the next few days.
