  1. Hi I have just booked a 4 star hotel on HOTWIRE in West End - Bohemian Quarter - Kelvingrove Art Gallery area. It was listed at GBP44.50 per room per night, which made it (with added taxes) GBP57.44. The hotel listed the following amenities: Free Internet, Smoke-free rooms, Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Golf nearby I have stayed in this hotel before and would recommend it to others - it is clean, comfortable and conveniently located to Glasgow university (a bit of a walk from the nearest underground station is the only problem). Regards sergeigrey1

  3. I have bought a night in a 3* hotel in London, Notting Hill - Bayswater - Paddington Station area. It was listed as having 75% approval rating Amenities included Business center, Internet access
  4. Thank you for your advice I have decided against this 4* hotel because of 50% approval rating. In the end, I went for 3* hotel in the same area (Notting Hill - Bayswater - Paddington Station) with 75% approval rating. It was listed at US$56 per night per room for the ame dates. When I bought it, it turned out to be Central Park Hotel London, Queensborough Terrace, W2 3SS Thank you for your help sergeigrey1
  5. Hi I would be grateful if you could help me to identify this 4-star Hotel in Notting Hill - Bayswater - Paddington Station area in London, UK. I have used HOTWIRE link on betterbidding site Dates: 04 July - 05 July 2016 Occupancy: single Hotel star rating: 4 Room rate: $84 per night 50% recommended Amenities:smoke-free room Free Intrnet I remember using Hotwire EasyView before to find more amenities. I have tried to find easyview option but cannot - have read other threads on Betterbidding as well. I would appreciate your help with identifying this hotel Sergeigrey
  6. Hi I have recently booked West End - Bohemian Quarter - Kelvingrove Art Gallery area hotel on Hotwire. This was a 4-star hotel, 90% recommended - excellent location for the university (15 minutes walk), not far from the underground, close to the Transport museum - 923 Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow,G3 7TQ. I hope this could help someone else in identifying Hotwire hotels Regards sergeigrey1
  7. Hi Thank you for your advice. I agree with you, booking a three-star hotel with a low user satisfaction is a risky business - I previously had it with Hotwire hotel in Glasgow, which did not live up to expectations. I have checked hotel offerings in Edinburgh and from what I can see this could be Britannia hotel (their prices, description of facilities, location fit the description), but I might be wrong. Since there is no further information helping to identify this hotel, I have therefore decided to book a Bed and Breakfast in Edinburgh city centre instead. Thank you for your help sergeigrey
  8. Hi I would very much appreciate your help in identifying this hotel on Hotwire. UI have used BiddingHelper on the Betterbidding.com site, whih can up with the following hotel Dates: 15 Septembe - 16 September (one night) Rooms: 2 Adults: 2 Star rating: 3 Price: USD51 per room per night Area: Edinburgh New Town - Princes Street FULL AMENITIES (from Hotwire Easy View): Restaurant(s), Internet access 35% recommended Thank you Sergeigrey
  9. Hi Thank you for your advice and helping in identifying this Hammersmith hotel. With all things considered, I feel that Hot.wire simply does not offer me a good deal on this hotel on this occasion. I will not use Hot.wire this time. Regards sergeigrey1
  10. Hi Further to my previous message - I have just tried to go all the way and see the final cost for the specified room in this hotel. Just before making a payment, the total price changes from $260 (as stated on Hotwire's search page) to $330. The website adds "Tax recovery charges + fees" in the amount of $70.50, which effectively brings the price for room to $165 per room, 27% higher than the price of $130 originally stated on Hotwire's search page. If your guess about this secret hotel being, in fact, Novotel London West is correct, than I am not certain if using Hotwire actually gives me any benefit in buying this room. If I use Novotel's website and buy this room directly for the specified dates, then the costs are: US$395.16 - with UK spring offer currently available on Novotel's website, which includes free breakfasts for two adults, at £15 per adult, £60 in total for two days - or $94.34 included in the price of US$395.16 - or $300.82 without breakfast (to make this comparable to Hotwire's rate) If I buy indirectly from Hotwire, I would pay for the same room (NO breakfast included) $330, I am seriously wondering if there are any advantages of using Hotwire in this case - unless the guess about this hotel is incorrect? Regards sergeigrey
  11. Hi Thank you for your prompt reply. I have used Betterbidding's bidding.Helper tool (missed that last time) as advised and, as you suggested, the list of amenities for this London Hammersmith 4 star hotel came up: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking There is, however, a slight price difference as per Hotwire's website (through Betterbidding link). Hotwire lists the cost at $130 per night, and Hotwire Easy View (via BetterbiddingHelper) states $128. I would be grateful if you could confirm your guess - as far as you can, of course Regards sergeigrey
  12. Hi I checked the existing forum information and I cannot find anything about this hotel already on betterbidding's site. I would be grateful if you could help me to identify this London Hammersmith 4 stars hotel, which I found using the Hotwire link on betterbiding's main page. I looked for a room for 2 adults and 2 children between 21 July 2015 and 23 July 2015 Price: $130 per night (down from $205) Hotel rating: 4 stars Amenities: Free Internet Pet friendly Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Restaurant(s) Business center Tripadvisor rating: 3.5 out of 5 Hotwire customer reviews: 90% recommended (12 reviews) Thank you for your help sergeigrey1
  13. Hi I checked the hotel amenities listed in my Hotwire itinerary (available in My account section). They are: Free breakfast, Free Internet, Smoke-free rooms, Internet access Regards Sergeigrey
  14. Hi I have just booked HOTWIRE hotel in Glasgow, Merchant City Inn for £52.81 or $80 for one niight, Apr 29-30 for 1 person. The hotel offers free WiFi and Free breakfast (only limited continental breakfast, you have to pay for food) and no other amenities. It has a lot of negative reviews and appears to be below 3-star rating it is assigned (2.9 on Expe.dia), so make up your mind and consider your options carefully before choosing a hotel on Hotwire with these properties. Regards sergeigrey
  15. Good evening Thank you for helping to ID the hotel in East Manchester. I need to be close to the university campus, so both Holiday Inns are too far. Even with free breakfast, it is not worth the hassle. I decided to book instead Travelodge Upper Brook Street hotel, which is 4 minutes walk away from the university (and much cheaper for my dates). I very much appreciate the time you spend checking hotels for me, but they simply did not work well for the purpose of my trip (and I did not want to pay more for stay in Central Manchester). Thank you for all your help Sergeigrey
  16. Good morning Thank you for your prompt reply. It does not look like there are many other hotel options in Manchester available for me. I have followed your advice and tried the bidding helper tool on your website. It shows that there is another hotel in Manchester East available for the same dates (Nov 16-18) and same conditions (one adult). The green "Full amenities" box, when oppened, lists the following: Free parking, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower Price is quoted at USD72 per night Hotel is ranked as 4 stars I would be grateful for your advice on what this hotel might be Regards sergeigrey
  17. Good evening I am trying to identify Manchester (UK) East area hotel and I would be grateful for your advice. I checked other topics in the same section (Hotwite-Other countries), but cannot findrelevant information. I used the Hotwire link on Betterbidding's website and it came up with the following results: Dates: November 16-18, 2014 Occupancy: 1 adult Stars: 3,5 Cost: $59 per night (standard price $81 per night) Tripadvisor rating: 4 out of 5 Amenities: Free parking, Free breakfast, Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Restaurants, Business center, Internet access I would be grateful for your help with identifying this hotel Regards sergeigrey
  18. Dear Sir/Madam Thank you for your help in locating the hotel. I followed your advice and went for a 4-start hotel instead of a 2,5 star one - and it turned out to be Hilton London Olympia. I paid GBP234.57 for it, on par with what was advertised by Hotwire. Once again, thank you for taking time to help me with my search. Regards Sergeigrey
  19. Dear Sir/Madam Thank you for your prompt reply. I will try to buy Hotwire hotel tomorrow - I was away today. I will share the outcome of the hotwire purchase with you and other forum members. Regards Sergeigrey
  20. Dear Sir/Madam Sorry for not replying earlier. I run out of time trying to provide aditional information about the hotel, and, in the end, I had to cancel my trip. Thank you for your help Sergeigrey
  21. Dear Sir/Madam Thank you for your prompt reply. I have checked and the Hotwire price for the hotel I located went up. It is now listed at $70, down from $121 per night (I did not realise Hotwire does sales). The notice about this hotel states that there are only 8 rooms left. Other search cnitions are unchanged - 1 single room, 26-29 of August 2014. If this hotel still does not show up in your seach, I found another hotel (sam search conditions) - this times 4 star one- in the same area, at the prie of $105 per night (down from $214, 50% off), in the same area of Lonon. This hotel comes 80% recommended, It has Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access. Tripadvisor rating is 3,5 out of 5. I would very much appreciate your help. Regards sergeigrey P.S. I did not realise I had unfinishe topic - I will foolw up on that
  22. Dear Sir/Madam, I have relied on this forum's advice before (thank you for successful tips on bidding earlier this year), so I would be grateful if you could help me to identify this hotel in London - I used HOTWIRE link on the betterbidding's main page: Dates: August 26-29, 2014 Room: 1, single occupancy Area: Kensington - Shepherds Bush - Westfield Hotel's rating: 2,5 stars Price: $67 per night (reduced from $100 per night) Amenities: Smoke Free Rooms, Business Center, Self service laundry, Internet access Hotwire customer reviews: 50% recommended (7 total reviews) Tripadvisor: 2,5 out of 5 Thank you for your help Sergeigrey
  23. Dear Sir/Madam I have recently consulted you about Hotwire hotel in Glasgow. Your advice was correct and I posted the results of my Hotwite booking online. I am now trying to look for a hotel in london on Hotwire, using the HOTWIRE's link on Betterbidding's website. I am trying to find one single occupancy room for one night between Sun April 13 and Monday April 1 in London. I found a 4 star hotel in Bloomsbury - St. Pancras Station - British Museum area at the price of $82 per night with the following description: Amenities: Free Internet, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness Centre, Restaurants Accessibility Accessible to the blind, Accessible to the deaf, accessible bathroom, accessible path of travel Reviews: tripadvisor: 3,5 out of 5, Hotwire customer reviews: 75% recommended I cannot see any more information about this hotel - its original price is quoted at $187 per night I would be grateful if you could help to identify this hotel Regards Sergeigrey1
  24. Thank you for your advice. I did not know how to deal with the hotel's information, so sorry about the screenshot. I booked the hotel and you were absoluteky right - the mystery hotel on Hotwire with the descriptio I provided earlier turned out to be Holiday Inn Express GLASGOW CITY-RIVERSIDE- 3.0-star hotel on STOCKWELL STREET, Glasgow. Thank you for your help and time in dealing with my inquiry. Regards sergeigrey
  25. Thank you for you prompt reply. The price for the hotel I found on Hotwire has changed slightly - it went up from $49 to $51 I guess this is related to changes in exchange rate). Here is the weblink to the printout of the webpage, which appeared after I typed in my request on Hotwire's link on Betterbidding's main page (1 adult, 1 night): <link removed> I would be grateful if you could help me to identify this hotel. Regards Sergeigrey
