Started at $80 and increased in $2 increments using free rebid zones until $88 was accepted.
The Hilton Financial District's rates for NYE aren't totally outrageous right now, so I booked 12/30 and 12/31 direct from Hilton website and I won't have to change hotels while in SF. I couldn't get a Priceline deal which covered NYE - which isn't really surprising.
Thanks to all who post their wins; and I encourage all to use the PRICELINE link from this website, as I did, when commencing their bidding.
PS- if you're not aware, one of the best things about Seattle (for me at least) is that most restaurants have GREAT Happy Hour deals with food specials. If you plan accordingly, you can eat (and drink) very afford-ably at some very high end restaurants.
Great tip - thank you.
Started at $65, and was given an immediate counter-offer for $82. Rejected that and continued up in $2 increments until $73 was accepted. You've got to love the cities with so many free rebid zones for 4 star.
I didn't know, coming from Australia, whether Christmas time wins on Priceline would be difficult in Seattle. Delighted with $73 a night. Now I just have to secure something for San Francisco over the New Years Eve period. I'm guessing this will be more difficult?
Thank you to everyone for posting; and I used the PRICELINE link on this website to commence bidding, of course.
Opening bid of $75 accepted. Perhaps I could have got away with less? Although can't have been too much less, as off a rack rate of $239 I'm already saving a mozza.
Thank you to everyone who posts here - it's the only way to beat the Priceline game! - and I used the PRICELINE link from this website of course.

Started at $60; counter-offer to $79; rejected that and bid up in $2 increments until $70 accepted. Did not bid in Historic District - Penns Landing or Rittenhouse Square (in case anyone was wondering about Priceline availability in those zones).
I used the PRICELINE link to start bidding.
