  1. This Hotel features the following amenities: Free Internet Indoor pool(s) Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Self service laundry Internet access Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower
  2. This is indeed the Hilton Garden Inn Denver Downtown. Used HOTWIRE link to pay $127/night, plus $82.24 tax & fees, for total of $463.24. Amenities: Free Internet, Indoor pool(s), Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Self service laundry, Internet access, Thanks for the help.
  3. Could someone help me identify the 3* downtown Denver hotel on Hotwire with the amenities below, which is 100% recommended? I want to be close to the Convention Center and/or the Hyatt Regency where my convention is meeting. It looks like this might be the Hilton Garden Inn because of the indoor swimming pool, which would be good spot for my family to stay instead of the Hyatt Regency rooms for $205/night (queen and double bed, compared to a likely king and queen sofa sleeper at the Hilton Garden Inn). Free InternetIndoor pool(s)Fitness CenterRestaurant(s)Business CenterSelf service laundryAlso, could anyone comment on whether I should buy now and pay $127 per night (2 adults plus 2 children), or wait for a better price in a month or two or three? I saw a January 2014 post on this forum where someone got the Hilton Garden Inn for May 2014 stay for $79. That was 4 months out, and I am now approaching 3 months out. Any suggestions on whether I should pull the trigger now or wait? Thanks!
  4. Thanks, Romlle. Looks like it's hard to find discounted rooms in the Dells, but does anyone happen to know of any? Thanks again.
  5. My family (2 adults and 3 kids -- but youngest is 6 and can sleep as the extra person in one double bed) will be in Chicago from June 26 to July 6, staying at Embassy Suites the first 4 nights and then needing a good location for a family vacation for the next 6 nights. We can rent a car from June 30 - July 6, when we fly back to Texas. I know this is a broad question, but not knowing Chicago very well I am not certain where we should be looking -- free parking would be nice if we have the car, water activities/nice outdoor pool are always a favorite. Any ideas or suggestions out there?
  6. So was your bid of $80 accepted (which is indicated in the subject line), or your bid of $91 (as indicated in your post)? Thanks!
  7. My family will be in D.C. from June 30 to July 5 -- two adults and three kids ages 4, 10, 13. (When using Hotwire, I only input 2 children. Four-year-old sleeps between us or with her older siblings.) I understand the risk of using Priceline and getting a one-bed room, so I realize Hotwire is probably our best bet to reduce all risk. Hotwire currently has a 4* for $119 with fitness, pool, restaurant, business center, internet (Omni Shoreham or Hotel Palomar); and a 3* for $109 with fitness, pool, restaurant, business center, and laundry (Holiday Inn Central). Since I am with the family, I would really like to increase my chances to receive a hotel with a pool. Another plus would be proximity to a Metro stop so we can do the typical D.C. attractions (Capitol, White House, National Monument, Smithsonian, etc.) as well as July 4th activities on the National Mall. I can also get a family-member discount at a Georgetown 4* ($99 for a suite with King bed and sofa sleeper) which would be great except the hotel has no pool and is serviced only by bus, not Metro. Maybe this is no big deal for the activities we want to do -- I don't know enough about D.C. yet to know this for sure. I also saw the Sheraton at National Airport (Arlington) go for $45, and it has a pool, but I don't know about getting around DC without using the Metro. Does anyone have suggestions for: 1) good areas for families to stay in DC to have easy access to attractions; and, 2) a suggested strategy on getting at least a 3* hotel on Priceline that has a high likelihood of being one with a pool? PS I will be staying at the Omni Shoreham for a conference on the two prior days (6/28 - 6/30). Omni has a pool and is close to a Metro stop, but it is on the high side when not using an opaque site ($179+).

  14. No, there was no difference in the rooms we were provided, and the rooms are very nice -- even "hip" and trendy. I included additional comments on this nice hotel on your new post.
  15. I stayed at this Staybridge with a group of six others. Everyone raved about this hotel. It is a recently renovated warehouse (Summer 2007) with nicely appointed and spacious suites with kitchenettes, plasma TVs, etc. A nice hot breakfast is included, as well as a happy hour during the week. Everything about this hotel says "class." The only potential drawbacks are: 1) the immediate area around the hotel is OK, but more than a few blocks away gets a little dicey; and 2) is that it is on the other side of the freeway from the Riverwalk. But the price you are getting for such a nice hotel more than offsets the vicinity (next to the Alamodome) and the short walk/ride to the Riverwalk. You won't be dissappointed with this hotel. I promise.

  18. Bid $30 for 2 1/2* Market Center, added Downtown @$30, added Arlington South at $33, added Grand Prairie/Arlington at $36, added DFW South at $39 and got upgraded to a 3* in Market Center. 20. Please ignore the portion of this post quoted above concerning the listing of this hotel on Hotwire. I have since realized that I didn't know what I was talking about, and that the information on Hotwire hotels contained in this board is much more accurate and reliable than anything I could "guess" at. Sorry! :) Remember to use www.SavingsBarn.com for all of your priceline purchases!
  21. Tried to get a 4* at the airport starting at $42 and going all the way up to $72 -- no luck. 23. I prefer the Staybridge Inn Sunset Suites to the Holiday Inn Market Square as my 2 1/2* Downtown San Antonio hotel choice, but as you know -- you don't get to pick your hotel on Priceline. But $44 for a nice 2 1/2* Holiday Inn is still a good value.
  24. Started at $60 for a 4* in Downtown/NW - failed. That's all I wanted to pay to get a 4*. Restarted at 2 1/2* in Airport $40 (trying to get the Courtyard by Marriott Airport which appears in an earlier post at $40), failed; added East $41, failed; added NE $43, added South $45 -- all failed Restarted at 2 1/2* in Downtown/Med. Cntr. $39 (counteroffer for +$11), added Airport $40, added NW $41 -- all failed. Restarted at 2 1/2* in Downtown/Airport/East (this is first bid with Downtown and East together) $43 (counteroffer for $12 more rejected), added NE (free rebid because it only has 2*s) and finally accepted at $44.
