I only see $75.00 a night for your dates 4/13 to 4/17..... I believe it's the Westin Diplomat due to the 95% rating. Crown Plaza only has a rating of 80% Recommended by 80% = Crown Plaza Recommened by 95% = Westin

Only additional charge we had was for using the phone. We did not have a car but I believe there is a charge of $25.00 per day to use the parking garage across the street on the on the intercoastal side, There is crosswalk bridge that crosses over the street.

Since the merger with the Westin Country Club. Just checked in , gave them my last name and neither I or them mentioned that I was booked through Hotwire. Beautiful hotel, can't beat the $69.00 price. I didn't ask fro a upgrade, balcony(resort view) or Balcony ( oceanview).. Thought it would be waste since the weather down here is kind of breezy and chilly at the moment. anyway and we wouldn't be using the balcony anyway. We did get a room though with both a view of the ocean and the intercoastal in the North building on the 25th floor. Hope others on here who booked through Hotwire do as well as us.

Who did you call to get the upgrade? Hotwire or did you call the hotel direct?

How much did it cost to upgrade ?

This sucks....... I don't think anyone is really going to be sure where we all are staying into our heads hit the pillow the day we arrive for our stays.....Up to now it's all just phone calls that mean just about nothing until the day you show up there and they say sorry we are completely full.......but we have a room for you at the country club if you want it? It's only a 5-minute shuttle ride away.......................

3* Ocean Sky Resort would be my guess.

Just recieved a reply email from Hotwire: It is our pleasure to credit you with $69.71 Hotwire HotDollars. As good as cash, HotDollars can be used for any hotel, flight, or Hotwire hot Rate rental car booking on Hotwire. Each HotDollar is equivalent to one U.S. dollar and is available for one year from the date of issuance. I guess we are good to go, I will call Westin in a few days to reconfirm reservation is still at the 3555 South Ocean Drive location.

How were you refunded the 50 percent? Hotwire Credit for a future booking or Credit on your credit card?

I called Westin and they have our reservation for the Ocean Front Property. I then called back later and found out the merger between the 2 hotels happened about 3 weeks ago(February 1, 2010. If you go to the Westin Site you will see they show some rooms available at both places, they list them as Ocean Front rooms and then they say some are located at the Golf Course, 1 and half miles from the beach front location. We also recieved the same letter from Hotwire saying they are taking off the Near Beach for this hotel and giving options of canceling or paying half of what we paid to keep the booking. Not exactly sure what we should do, but I'm leaning toward keeping the booking for half the price we paid. We are arriving early into to Ft. Lauderdale and will try to check-in before Noon and see what happens. Hopefully they will keep us at the Oceanfront property since our date still shows plenty of availability. If they try to move us to the County Club location we will be on the phone with Hotwire for sure asking them to straighten it out. Unlike others on here what might be in OUR favor is that I booked this hotwire reservation on Januaury 21st BEFORE the Merger and have called the hotel and we are confirmed at the Ocean front property. Since we seem to be the first ones on here going to that hotel, I will report back and tell you had we made out. Anyone have any opinions as to what I should do differently?

I would hate to mislead someone now since we really don't know the exact hotel we will be staying out now since all this trouble started.

My confirmation states the address of the hotel as 3555 South Ocean Drive, so there is no way they can shuttle us to the other hotel is there? For my date in March there is still availabilty. Why make us move to the other hotel? Are we better off not replying to their(Hotwire) offer and paying our agreed price there by staying at the hotel on the ocean? Opinions on how we will be handled at check-in?

This looks to be the first reported on HOTWIRE for this hotel in the Timesquare area. People on here were wondering what 4* hotel that was with the Spa Icon that only showed 400 tripadvisor's reviews. The Westin has over 1000 tripadvisor's reviews, there lies the difference's Thanks for reporting.

Sorry meant 3.5 *Sheraton Manhattan.....I see it has winning bids already at $120 and $97 I know we could get other 3.5* Hotels but most likely not if we keep the bids between a $100 to $125....The hotel can be had on it's site right now for $255.00 We would be happy with any 3.5* as long as they are between 40th and 51st street near the Theatre District. Leery of the 3.5* Stay Hotel 3.5* The Time Hotel..never heard of them. What are my chances of landing one of them at the bids we will be using? Any thoughts on how to proceed?

Do not see it listed now but it was on there last night. It might show up again in a few days. For now I just reserved Courtyard New York Manhattan/Times Square South for $203.00 which I can cancel with no charge. Reviews on Tripadvisor look good. Anyone have an opinion of this hotel and it's location? We will be arriving on a train at Penn Station and attending a show at 205 W 46th Street

Found a site online that had a room for one night and parking for 14 days for $115.00 total including all taxes and fees. Hotel was the Fairfield Inn Newark Airport. Route 1 & Route 9 Private Limo Service took us to the Bayonne Port and when the cruise was over they returned us to the hotel to get our car. Price for that was $45.00 each way. Worked out great for us. Was still lower then paying the 13 days for parking at the pier and extended our vacation by one day, one less stressful day also since we were already in Newark the night before the cruise. No worrying about car breaking down or a Accident holding us up on the NJ Turnpike.
