  1. I was shooting for something in another zone but wound up winning the Wyndham Garden. At least it has free parking. I used the PRICELINE link to shop.
  2. I had been trying for 4* but upon seeing people had won Holiday Inn in the Harbor area, I decided to make a try. For some reason I was thinking the wins had been at Bayside (free parking) vs. "On the Bay" ($22 parking) but that's okay... I will just return my rental car a day early. I won on my first bid attempt for 3* of $45, using the PRICELINE link to bid.
  3. I used the provided PRICELINE link. I started bidding for $37 for a 3.5* and was countered with 53. I added a rebid zone for $40 and it was rejected. I added a rebid zone for $43 and it was accepted.
  4. Your Offer Price: $5.00 (per day) Total Rental Days: 1 days Subtotal: $5.00 Taxes and Fees: $10.75 Total Charges: $15.75 Lowest Published Price: $36.09 Total Savings:* $20.34 (You saved 56%) Hotwire had economy for $8.95 with $14.95 in taxes, surcharges, and fees and booking other sites with last minute special, airline, codes or other coupons was about $5 higher. I decided to try priceline. My first bid was for $5 and prior to hitting the submit button it gave me a "$9.00 - Good Chance message". I did not increase but kept it at $5 and it accepted. I used the PRICELINE link to bid. Thanks
  5. I tried $45 for a 3* in Wenatchee but was given a message that if I raised my bid by $10 to $55, I could rebid for free. Instead I added a free rebid and put $50 and got the Coast hotel. I used the link to book.
  6. The option to bid for 3.5 or 4* hotels in the US Virgin Islands has disappeared from PRICELINE. There is a Resorts option, so perhaps the Marriott would fit in there? )Of course you are not guaranteed any particular property). I have used the following strategy trying to bid for resorts. Use the PRICELINE link on this site Bid St. Thomas - Resort Add St. Croix for free Rebid (they have no resorts category there currently). So far I have gone up to $130 on my dates in early May but no luck. :) However, as the dates approach, I see that HOTWIRE is getting cheaper for their 2, 3, and 3.5 star hotels so perhaps I will have better luck on PRICELINE soon.
  7. I'm willing to go to $150 all-in (including tax and fees). I am just a little surprised / disappointed that the option to bid 3.5 or 4* on Priceline no longer exists. :) I suppose I will keep raising the bid for St. Thomas Resort, then getting a free rebid on St. Croix until I hit my max.
  8. I have looked through the forums and see that before, Priceline allowed bids for 3.5 and 4 star hotels in the USVI. Now, it seems they only have up to 1 - 3* and resorts. There are no offerings for 3.5 or 4* in any areas. For my dates (starting May 8th), I can book the Best Western Caribe for $98 if worse comes to worse.... but for slightly more money I would prefer a nicer place. The bidding strategy I have used so far: - Use link from this site - Bid for St Thomas resorts - Add free rebid at St Croix (they have no resorts) So far I have gone up to $110, which is higher than the price people had previously gotten the Marriott. Hotwire shows 3.5* at $159, 3* at $179, and 4* at $297. Any suggestions to strategy changes? I am willing to do 3* if it is a good 3*... but if it is similar quality to Best Western (2*), I'd rather just keep the cheaper, refundable (if 72 hours in advance) rate. Thanks!
  9. I am about a week late posting this but I booked the Hyatt Place in Estero on my first bid using the PRICELINE link. I thought I was lowballing the bid but maybe I could have done better! Still, the room was nice and a great value!
  10. I tried for 2.5* in Bothell for $37, added Kirkland and tried $39 - both bids failed. I closed / came back and bid $37 for a 3* in Lynnwood. This was accepted at the Courtyard by Marriott North/Lynnwood Everett on my first bid. I used the PRICELINE link at the top of this site when making my bid.
  11. I was expecting Country Inn but got Holiday Inn Express. First bid, $38 for Bothell 2.5* Second bid, $40 added Kirkland Wound up with $40 at Holiday Inn Express. Yes, i used the PRICELINE link.
  12. I tried: Bellevue 3.5 bids up to 57, Bellevue / Bothell / Lynwood, etc. 3 star up to 52, and Finally won Bothell 2.5 for $41 at Country Inn and Suites. I used the board's PRICELINE links.
  13. I decided to stay an extra night. Tried Bothell 3* 40 Added Everett 42 Added North Everett 45 Cleared Tried Bothell 2.5* 40 Added Everett 42 and won Note: Used the PRICELINE link on the page
  14. Tried Bothell 3* 40 Added Everett 42 Added North Everett 45 Cleared Tried Bothell 2.5* 45 Added Everett 48 and won Note: Used the PRICELINE link on the page
  15. I got this on my first bid. Maybe I should have started lower or with a better car. KC has the worst taxes of any airport I've been to plus add the priceline fee, and tax is 2.5 times more than the rental. Still, a good deal. Total Charges to your Credit Card: Your Offer Price: $7.00 Total Rental Days: 2 Subtotal: $14.00 Taxes & Fees: $31.00 Total Charges: $45.00
  16. I started out with $10, economy and added 1 car class and $1 each rebid. An offer for a standard car accepted at $15, which is only $20.95 after taxes and fees. I was pleasantly surprised about the low taxes at SYR because at some airports, the taxes and fees are as high or higher than the rental rate! Standard (unlimited mileage) Total Charges to your Credit Card: Your Offer Price: $15.00 Total Rental Days: 1 Subtotal: $15.00 Taxes & Fees: $5.95 Total Charges: $20.95
  17. First bidding attempt was for 4 star Miami Beach at 70 which failed. Added 3 stars at 66 and it accepted. Tax & Service Fees are $16.47 leaving a total of $82.47. On a downside, it does look like they might charge a "resort fee", like many hotels in the area. Also on their website, it mentions valet parking is about $22 per day. On the web site, the best base rate they have is $129 (+ tax + resort fee + parking) so I guess $66 base is a good deal.
