  1. Hotels in Grand Forks sky rocket on weekends and I started my bidding at $45 until $90 was accepted. I had a $10 off per night coupon through Priceline so it made the total $188.80 including taxes and fees. Never paid this much for a Grand Forks hotel, but judging by the reviews this is the nicest property in the city. Hoping it's worth it!
  2. Wow I feel super dumb!! I am not new to Priceline or the use of reading these boards to see what hotel I may receive and what to bid, but I am definitely new to the re-bid zones. I will be SURE to use this board again the next time I bid especially if I have to add re-bid zones as this concept is still foreign to me and it is actually quite confusing for a newbie. Thankfully, I have always been lucky with my bids and outcomes but it's annoying waiting 24 hours.
  3. What do people keep meaning when they say they added "rebid zones". I ONLY wanted a 4* in Bloomington West, any other area or star level and I would be disappointed. It took me 3 days to get an accepted offer because I had to wait 24 hours each time. Are the people that add rebid zones very flexible?? Thanks for the clarification. :)
  4. Started bidding at $50, denied. $52 denied. $54 accepted. I've stayed at this property before, originally it was rated at a 3.5 on Priceline but it must have recently changed to a 4*. I'm overall happy. It's a newer property and definitely nicer than the older, outdated Doubletree (3*) in the same area that I got for $41 in March and since then decided not to bid on any hotels less than a 4*. Do you think this is a good deal for this property? Always use the PRICELINE link. Could someone tell me why the bar changes daily for the same dates? Yesterday I tried the exact same zone, dates, etc, and the bar started at $48 while in previous days it started at $54. Could I have been better off bidding lower today? Is this new bar a hint that a lower bid may be accepted for this property? Any input? Thanks!
  5. Accepted for $73 per night and received Ramada Plaza Suites And Conference Center. Not sure how I feel about this because many people have received this property at much lower rates.
  6. $67 was my last bid that went through and was refused. I hope I don't get the Raddison - I'd much prefer Staybridge or the Holiday Inn. The most I'd really like to pay for these mediocre hotels are $80 per night. With my dates being a while away I have time and patience to ensure I get the best deal.
  7. Hi, I hope I am using the links properly! I just tried again. I bid $67 and received this message: Try Again Right Now We searched hundreds of options to find your hotel room, however we can't accept your offer of $67 per room, per night. Your credit card has not been charged for Request Number (hidden). If you are willing to raise your price by $17 to $84 per room, per night, you can try the same request again right now. Normally you are required to change additional items (add zones, star level, or dates) in order to try your request again. However we are able to extend this one-time opportunity to you because of the zone, quality level and dates you requested. I don't want to go up to $84 (this basically tells me that they will accept $84 but I can go lower) but this gives me a good idea that I will be bidding somewhere between $70-80 for a room. I am going to keep trying but how much should I go up by this time? I will try $70 and let you know how it goes. I'll await your reply before bidding again tonight and start from square one if need be. Thanks so much for the help!
  8. I am trying to bid on a hotel in Fargo, ND. I chose 3* only (this is the highest star level available in Fargo), and only chose the one area. Bids up to $64 have been refused. I noticed that someone bid $85 and received the Staybridge Suites but I am new to this and can't believe that hotels in Fargo go for that much for just an average hotel. Any help with bidding is appreciated. How much should I go up by with my next bid? I have been using the PRICELINE link. Dates are November 16-18, 2012. Thanks!
